Taking your own snacks into WDW

Can you take snacks for children in your backpack into the parks? I have a small child and we usually carry a sippie cup and pretzels with us. Will be able to get by with this?

The only things you won't be able to take into the parks are glass bottles and alcoholic beverages.

we take small snacks in our bags. sometimes that line for space mountain is just too long and we get hungry ;) so a little package of pretzels comes in handy.

We always take our own snacks into the parks. We have never encountered any problems at the gate. We typically bring cheese-nips, fruit, cookies, and trail-mix with us into the parks. Oh yeah and Capri Suns for the kids.
