Yet another hand luggage question - contact lenses

We are going in three weeks and my friend has asked me whether she can bring disposal contact lenses in a sealed box in her hand luggage

I am sure this must count as liquid but thought I would check here first before I said no to her as always get such good advice here.

Well instead of her risking them being thrown away, just tell her to bring her glasses as back-up in case something should happen. That's what I'm doing.

Apparently you can take one pair of unopen disposal contact lenses in hand luggage but no more than that. Also no bottles of lense solution!
