I'm a little nervous about writing this TR, considering the excellent and witty writing skills of my predecessors; UtahMama, PrincessV, Sorul82?, GMax and other limeys. :teeth:

Let me start with a little pre-trip info....

I have been planning this trip in my head for the last 5 years. Then during a trip to Las Vegas, the miracle child was conceived after a long bout of infertility. WDW trip gladly on hold until miracle was old enough. Miracle turns 2 and we head to Las Vegas for a family wedding and BOOM, miracle #2 occurs. Whoever said "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is full of it. I've no plans to return. I don't know what they put in the water there. :confused3

Anyway, last year my BIL sends my DD a postcard from their annual WDW pilgrimage and the seed was planted. :wizard:

January 2006: We decided in plan a trip for this year. We plan for September, not know anything about the Free Dining to be offered later in the year (I cancel current ressie once I find out about it on the boards) DH and talk about inviting my parents to join us. Parents decide to join us. We all then decide to invite DNeph who will be graduating in the coming June. Thinking this will be a great Graduation gift. DNeph doesn't turn 18 until Oct, so we gets the Jr. price... whoo hoo! We are a Disney Family and everyone is ready to rock! We book our trip for 5 nights at the Poly with MYW park hopper tix and free dining... God bless our TA, I made sooo many changes and she just rolled with the punches!

The count down begins: I am a total obsessive compulsive trip planner... hey I'm right at home on these boards! :thumbsup2 I buy everything in site... I have UPS packages coming everyday. I buy so much "what if" stuff that it has it's own suitcase. I clean out the Dollar Tree of anything remotely needed at WDW. I am banned from Target and Walmart.
We have several milestones through out the year to help the time go by: DS 2nd birthday, Knotts Berry Farm, etc. We continue our weekly/bi-weekly trip to Disneyland to keep the magic going. I make all our ADR's based on the menus from allears and then I change all our ADR's thanks to the recommendations from fellow dis-ers. I make touring plans and download maps and yes, I laminated them. Ok, I said it.... I feel better now. I lurk on these boards and then I find the "focker thread". Sweet mother of God.... I find my people. I started collecting my LGMHPC's from HD... I buy lime green foam board, markers, ribbon... I make "Disness" cards to pass out. Stop the madness??? Never!
September finally arrives.....

Let me begin the introductions.....

Me: 34 yo Disneyland Mama. Trip planner extraordinaire, Tour guide Barbie, pure limey at hear, Focker to the core. You get the picture. I make everyone take a vow at the airport. Raise your right hand and repeat after me... "I will not whine, cry or complain about 1) the crowds 2) the heat 3) the walking; I will have fun, fun, fun. I will not have a public meltdown and embarrass my family. I will STAY WITH THE GROUP and not WANDER ABOUT."

DH: 36 yo Disneyland Daddy. Not quite the Disneyaholic as I am. Goes with the flow, but does alot of eye rolling. Loves the Disney villians. Figures... We shall call him....Joe. That's simple enough.

DD: 4 yo going on 30. Tinkaholic. Little Miss Attitude. Reminds us that she is an expert of everything. She remember everything I say, and it comes back to haunt me more often than not. We shall call her.... Minnie.

DS: 2 yo. A total terror. He is birth control for any woman. Think you want kids? Come spend some time with this kid. He'll cure you for sure. His badness level is very high. He makes Stitch look like an angel. This kid looks for trouble and usually finds it. But he is very cute and gets away with more than he should. But he's only 2 and still a baby. Can you see the problem?? We shall call him... EhEh... or EE for short. That's what he calls himself, since he can't quite pronounce his name.

DNeph: 17 yo. A total know-it-all. Loves to challenge me on Disney Trivia. I beat him every time. Those days are numbered, though. He's now a CM for Disneyland. God help us. We shall call him... Walt.

My mom: 70 yo. Your typical mother. She's a super duper grandma... sometimes to a fault. She loves Disney, she doesn't understand alot of it, but she loves it. I bought her an annual pass for DLR a few years ago and she got hooked. We shall call her...Nini.

My dad: 71 yo. Oh brother... where do I begin? :sad2: Dad is a pain in the $%@. God knows I love him, but ....!!! I was warned by my older brother that traveling with dad would be like playing Where's Waldo? constantly. Dad is a wanderer. He goes off by himself or ducks into a store and gets "lost". His hearing is shot, so yelling out his name is useless. I will keep a Where's Waldo count so you can see what I mean. I advise him at the beginning of the trip that we would not spend time looking for him. I told him remember we are at the Poly and if you get separated, then just go back to the hotel. For obvious reasons, we shall call him Waldo.

Now you have the met the characters... I will begin our story...
After I take DD to school...
Thanks to those reading! I really appreciate it!!! :)

Love the "Where's Waldo" reference, I haven't seen those books in years.

What is a Jr. rate, I didn't think those existed anymore.

I'm refering the hotel room portion. We didn't have to pay full adult room rate for him, since he was under 18 and staying with his grandparents.

Tuesday 9/12: This is packing day. We have so much to do. Let me rephrase that... I have so much to do. Joe isn't a helper. I'm so OCD, that I will do whatever he attempts to do, over again. Minnie has Back to School night, so it's really crunch time. I have laundry going, I'm packing, I'm getting ready for back to school night, I'm getting the kids ready for bed. I'm tired. Back to school night lasts much longer than expected. We get home close to 9 pm and have to finish everything up. Walt lives about 25 miles away, so he drives in around 8 pm. Ok... kids are asleep and I set the alarm for 3:30 am. Joe and I get in bed around 11 pm. 4 1/2 hours of sleep? Oh man! As soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out. I wake up around 2:45, and lay in bed for 15 minutes or so. I drag myself out of bed and get ready. Joe gets up and gets ready.

Wednesday 9/13: We have to leave for LAX by 5:30am. Our limo is to be here at 5am. I try to wake the kidlets up at 4:30 am and Minnie refuses to get up, because I told her we were leaving in the morning and since it is still dark, it must still be night time. Fine, I say. Stay here and Uncle will come and stay with you while we go to WDW. Ok, she's up. Now EE, I go into his room and tell him, "EE, it's to go to WDW" He's up and nods his head. I dress him and take him downstairs. I look out the window and see out limo has arrived 45 mins early. Cool, I think, let's get outta here. Why am I in a rush to get to LAX? You'll see.

We're out the door at 5 am and on our way.... whoo hoo!! We arrive at LAX to a mass amount of people. I must say, LAX has the most friendly employees. I ask a woman where to obtain our boarding passes. She barks at me "Follow the yellow line!" I'm heading the wrong way, I attempt to turn around and am almost bowled over by a nice man and his luggage cart. I say to him, "Excuse me" and he tells me, you almost killed your baby. What??? I think fast and smile at him and say, "Well slow down you jack-bleep." You know... rhymes with gas.
I proceed to obtain all our boarding passes and head over to TSA to check in our luggage. We wait in line and I ask Walt, do you have your boarding pass? He goes pale and says no. He runs back to the desk and the lady says your aunt has it. Duh! :confused3 I forgot that I had printed his boarding pass online line last night. (We booked his flight separately since TA couldn't get the same price.) We give our bags to TSA and the nice lady tells me to proceed to security. Well Waldo hears part of someone elses conversation and tells me we must wait for our luggage. I tell Waldo, no we don't see our luggage again until we reach our resort. No Waldo tells me, we MUST wait for it. I make Walt go over to the nice lady and ask her. No she says, we leave our luggage here and it is boarded on to the plane. Thank you, Waldo. Score: Me - 1 Waldo - 0
We start heading toward security. Now security is sooo much fun to begin with, but with toddlers it is a blast! :bitelip: Getting through there took over and hour. Oh, then we have to get rescreened because I packed some prescrption cough syrup in DS backpack. Yeah, you'll thank me for that later, people on flight 244.
Ok, through security and heading to our gate. We're all starved and caffiene deprived. Joe heads for Burger King. No, thanks.... I don't want stomach issues on the plane. I think Burger Kings egg product is questionable. I head to Starbucks for a tea and bagel. Waldo heads... uhhhh somewhere. Ok, where's Waldo? Did he go with you, Joe? Nope. Did he go with you, mama? Nope. popcorn:: We all sit to enjoy our pseudo-breakfast and here comes Waldo with a coffee and danish. After breakie I give the kiddies cough syrup. Yeah, flame me all you want, it worked. A little bit won't hurt 'em. Where's Waldo count = 1

We board our plane and EE is out before take off. Let me just comment on the plane. When we boarded, there were pillow and blankets on all the seats, the plane was impeccable, well, for a commerical jet. 3 hours into our flight, EE wakes up. Oh no... it's alive!!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2001.jpg
Notice all the snack and kiddie provisions.
We arrive in MCO at 3:30pm and proceed to Magical Express. Now, I've heard some nightmares about this. So, let's see just how Magical and how express it really is. I read UtahMama's TR and I think we had the same driver. He sounded just like Ricky Ricardo. I couldn't stop giggling. I was waiting for him to say, "Lucy, you got some splaining to do." He drops us off at the Polynesian at 4:40. Record time, I'd say. From landing to check-in 1 hour ten minutes. Now that's pretty magical and express.

We head into the lobby where we are leid. No, no people.. I don't want to get leid, I want to be focked! :lmao:

Now let's see if they got my requests right......

Disneyland_Mama
09-20-2006, 04:32 PM
First, I have to mention the heat. Good Lord, it's hot. It's that sticky, nasty, don't touch me hot. If you stand still, you sweat. If you move you sweat. It's the I'm feeling like I'm wilting, hot. Now since everyone took their oath at the airport, no one has mentioned the heat. I have never experience heat like this. I've been to Las Vegas in the heat of July when it's 116, but it doesn't feel like this. Ok, enough about the heat. You all were there, you know what I'm talking about.

It's 4:40 and we have 6:30 ADR's at Le Cellier. There's no one in line at check-in so Waldo, Joe and I are helped right away. We are given our Key to the World cards and given the run down of the dining plan.... yeah, yeah, yeah... I know lady, I've been on the boards for months now. I ask if we have connecting rooms. I am told yes and all my requests have been fulfilled. We got the Samoa longhouse with adjoining rooms with a pool view. Whoo hoo!! Let the pixie dust fly!!

We jet up to our rooms to drop of our stuff. Wait a minute, our rooms are NOT connecting. They are right next to eachother, but don't connect. Oh, well. I am happy otherwise. :goodvibes

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics004-1.jpg
Walt and Minnie
We head out and walk over to the TTC, jump on the Epcot monorail. I am floored at the size of this place. Being from California, I had no idea exactly how large the WDW property is. We walk through the turnstyles and *WOW*. We're here. We're actually here. :woohoo: After all the planning and drama, we are here.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2002.jpg

We enter WS and I'm in love. It's so beautiful. It's only 6pm, but we're sooo hungry, we decide to head over to see if we can get in early. The place is mobbed. We are standing in long line to check in and Waldo tells me, "We have a reservation, we don't have to wait in this line." I tell Waldo, "Yes, we do." He says "No, we don't". Now Waldo has no idea about ADR's or even WDW for that matter. He is talking out of the side of his neck and driving me crazy. I tell him "What would you like me to do? Push everyone out of the way? Go sit down with the other please." Now I witness something for the 1st time that seems to be quite common in WDW. The man infront of me is getting very irate with the seating hostess. He is telling her that he is late because of the monorail. She says, "We'll seat you when we can, sir" He keeps on persisting and blaming the monorail.. blah, blah, blah. He goes back to his wife and starts yelling at her ... in public. :furious: I am completely embarrassed for her. I turn away as soon as we make eye contact. :rolleyes1 I can't believe how often people blow up at eachother. I understand it's hot, I understand you're hungry, I don't understand how you can belittle your significant other in public. :sad2:
Ok, on to happier moments.... while we wait Minnie discovers.. Kidcot :cheer2: This helps pass the 30 minutes or so that we wait.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics005.jpg
Minnie & Nini at Kidcot

We are seated and our server, Shayne, was great and very helpful. Our meal was incredible. I had the Shrimp cocktail, Mushroom Filet and the Maple & Vanilla cream brulee. The shrimp was different than any other shrimp I had. I believe it was Gulf Shrimp. Being from Cali, we're used to farm raised shrimp. They are very different. Different texture, but very good. The shrimp cocktail was served with a wasabi slaw. Oh, me, oh my... it was kickin'!!! Waldo and Walt had the same appy and theirs was not as hot as mine. They were teasing me until I made them taste mine. They agreed mine was the hottest. Joe had the House Filet, Waldo had the Ribeye, Nini had the prime rib and Minnie had the kids steak and shared with EE. Total cost of meal for all of us = 276.01. Yes, we got the free dining. :cool1: We rolled out of there around 7:45.

We headed over to get wrist bands for the EMH around 8pm. I notice no one was around for Illuminations. We headed to Test Track for a quick spin. Nini, Waldo and Walt rode first, as Minnie chickened out and EE is too short. I made a conscience decision that I would not force her to do anything she did not want to ride. Side note: When she was almost 3 we took her on the POTC in DLR and she would ride it with no problem until one day, we were getting on and the parents behind us forced their DD on the ride screaming and crying. Minnie was tramatized watching that whole episode and refused to ride POTC anymore. Thanks alot idiot parents. We just got her back on for the first time this past June. We got a baby swap and waited for the others in the gift shop so Minnie could do another Kidcot. When Waldo and Nini came out, Joe, Walt and I took our turn. There was no one in line. When we return to the loading area, we were asked if we wanted to ride again. Sure, we all yelled and went around again. What a great ride! Back to the loading area. Do you want to ride again. No!! I'm too old for this! We met up with Nini and Waldo and headed over to Spaceship Earth. Poor Nini... her feet were really hurting her. We got on SE and loved it. It's very cool. Nini's feet couldn't handle anymore, so we jumped back on the Monorail and headed to our hotel. Once in our room, my kids had sensory overload. They were jumping on the beds, running around like monkeys. I put them in the bath and that calmed them down. To bed by 11pm. Tomorrow.... we hit AK and E.E.

I think.....I love Epcot. I think public meltdowns are bad. I think the steaks at Le Cellier are worth a 5 hour flight. I think I love the Disney dining plan.

Where's Waldo: 0
Me: 1 Waldo: 0 (re: waiting in line)
Public meltdowns: 1

Thursday 9/14: Today is our Animal Kingdom day. We decided last night, it would be best to order room service and have the kids eat while we get ready for the day. I order 2 breakfasts and the 4 of us share. There's plenty of food for everyone. We eat and head out the door for the bus stop. When we get to the bus stop, around 8:10, sitting there is a very annoyed CM. We ask her if an AK bus has come recently. She barks, "Every bus except the bus I need has been here. I've been waiting for the DTD bus since 7:00." Allllrighty then. I turn and look at Joe, who for no reason, starts laughing. Then I start laughing at Joe laughing. Joe and I do that often. That poor CM, she probably thought we were laughing at her. The DTD bus shows up for the CM and she asks the driver when a AK bus is coming for us. He shrugs, she shrugs and they're off. Yeah, thanks for nothin'!
Next bus is ..... yeah!!! AK bus. We arrive at AK at 8:55am. We're though the turnstyles and just catch the end of the opening show thingy.
Waldo: "What are you waiting for?? Let's get around this parade."
Me: "This isn't a parade, it's the opening show thingy"
Waldo: "No, it isn't I'm, going around."
CM: "Sir, please stay behind the ropes."
Me: :teeth:
Waldo: 0
Me: 1

As soon as the rope drops we hoof it to EE. There's no one here.... hahaha, we beat the crowd. Wait a second.... Where's Waldo? Oh, no Waldo's pushing the stroller... Where's Waldo and little EE? :bitelip: We wait at the entrance of EE and hoping Waldo will head over the EE. We wait, and wait... ok, here comes Waldo. I give Waldo the evil eye and we get a baby swap cause little EE is to small to ride EE and Minnie is afraid of the Yeti. Then we grab 6 FP for later. Joe, Walt and I ride first. There's no one in line, so we slowly walk through the queue to check out the artifacts and such. Really cool! :thumbsup2 We get on the ride and Walt(17) has to ride with this hot mama. It was funny watching him trying to be cool. The ride starts and whoo hoo!!! That ride was the best!!! :cool1: I loved it! We all loved it! Next is Nini & Waldo's turn. They take Walt, cause the baby swap says 3 people may return. While the others ride, I decide to shop! Whoo hoo. One of my nephews has requested a Yeti shirt as a souvineer. I'm brousing the Everest gift and find the perfect shirt for him. While I am purchasing the shirt, the CM ringing me up asks if we would like to donate to the Disney Wildlife Reserve. Sure, I say... how about $5.00? Great she says and plops down 5 DWR buttons. They are cute, but what am I going to do with 5? Minnie says we can give them to other kids. Great idea Minnie! :thumbsup2 We head over to to see Waldo, Nini and Walt on Everest. Minnie points out a little boy with his mama and asks if she can give him a button. I tell her to ask his mama first. Minnie gets the mamas approval and gives the boy the button. Way to go Minnie... spread the pixie dust! pixiedust: 3 more to go!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2006.jpg

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics006.jpg

Next we head over to Dinoland, cause the kids want to do some stuff, too. Dinoland is empty, so Joe and I take Minnie and EE on Dino-Dumbo. They loved it. When we got off, Chip and Dale were posing for photos. EE hates all the characters. He won't even look at them. Notice in the pic, he's looking at Dale's teeth.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3011.jpg

Joe, Walt, and I ride Primeval Hurl. Oh my goodness, the handle/safety bars smelled soooooo rank! It was nasty. They smelled like sewer armpit. It was gross! I couldn't wait to get off. Do you want to ride again, the CM's ask? No, I'd rather wash my face with a dirty diaper!
Waldo, Joe and Walt headed over to Dinosaur. Nini and I have Minnie's face painted and walk around Dinoland.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3013.jpg

It starts to sprinkle, but it stops just as fast as it starts. We meet back with the guys and we head back to EE for our FP return. Nini decides she wants to ride Dinosaur, so her and Waldo head there, while the rest of us go back to find the Yeti. Joe decides he doesn't really want to ride, so Walt and I go to the fast pass entrance. We get in line and start talking to this guy who's wearing a Yeti cap and Yeti hands. We come to find out he's the Yeti-man. I guess he holds the record for the number of EE rides. He tells us his story and says after his 604th ride with us, he wants to take a picture with us to put on his website. I'm thinking, yeah ok... sounds like Yeti-man has had one too many. So we ride with Yeti-man, and after we exit, he starts looking for us. We take a picture with him and he gives me his card with the website. Ok, buh-bye Yeti-man. Sidenote: When we get home, I check out the website and there we are... 3rd to the last in his album.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/Yetiman.jpg

We are now waiting for Waldo and Minnie to meet up with us. We wait, and wait, and wait... no Waldo. Ok, where's Waldo? We go back to Dinoland, no Waldo. We go back to EE, no Waldo. We go back to Dinoland again. There's Waldo and Minnie AND they are eating Ice Cream. Ok, thanks alot guys. We've just been going all around in this swampy heat and here you are enjoying your Mickey Bar. :sad2:

We to head over to the Safaris 'cause it's getting hot and we want to get out of there. We were going to FP and then grab some lunch, but there was no wait, so we jumped on the Safari truck and headed out to save Little Red. The ride was neat-o. But the driver wouldn't stop so I could take a decent picture. :bounce: We got out of there and walked into Tusker house for some lunch. Joe and I had the Rotisierre (sp?) Chicken w/ smashed taters and green beans and Cheesecake. Minnie had Mac-n-Cheese and a huge piece of chocolate cake. Little EE fell asleep while we waited in line for the food. No lunch for you. Lunch was excellent! :thumbsup2 Cheesecake was kind of dry, which was good. I had no business eating it anyway. I did sample Minnie's cake, it was to die for! Minnie sees a family of 4 sitting near us. It's a father and his 3 little girls. Minnie has always wanted a baby sister, and is infatuated with seeing sisters together. She always points them out. Minnie asks if we can give the girls the other 3 DWR buttons. I tell her to ask the father first. The father says yes so Minnie passes them out to the girls with a big smile. More pixie dust from Minnie. I'm so proud of her. It's my dream to adopt a little girl from another country. I know Minnie would make a great big sister! Joe on the other hand.... well, let's just say I need to work on him. I think it scares him a little bit... the 3rd child thing, that is. I just keep telling him that 3 is the new 2. :rotfl:
After we lunched, we headed back to the hotel for a swim and rest before we head to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations.
Up next, drama at Illuminations......and how many times can we lose Waldo in one day....

Hey great trip report and I can't wait to hear more about your trip. But I will say no one has the right to look that put together on a trip. You look like you just stepped out of a beauty parlour. Wow! I look like someone stuck my finger in a light socket when I hit that humidity. :scared:

Thanks for the encouraging words! And thanks for reading. I'm actually have alot of fun writing this TR and remember all the crazy moments that happened. I even got misty writing about our first view of Epcot. I am totally hooked on WDW, even though we visit DLR all the time. DLR doesn't even compare. I am faithful to my DLR, but WDW is incredible!

Ok, time for shout outs..... :cheer2:

Momplanner22, Cjhinch, PrincessV, NewOrleansLady, 3Disneybugs: Thanks for reading. I hope you are enjoying it!

OhMari: I checked on the Junior rate and when you book through AAA they do have a Jr rate for kids 10-17.

C4alymom: I'm OCD, so this report will be done lickety-split. :surfweb:

DebIreland: Thanks! I have to give props to my older brother who started the Waldo reference. He traveled with Waldo to Yosemite earlier this year and warned me about Waldo's wandering ways. Try saying that 20 times... :lmao:

Tammyandtommy: Looks like your about to head out for the world soon. Have a great trip! I'm so jealous!! Here's some pixie dust for a great vacation. pixiedust:

Daisy77: Thanks so much!

E.T: You know I get teased about that all the time. I'm a former artistist director for a major salon chain, so when I was in training, my director told me to never leave the house without being completely done. It's a hard habit to break. My hair seemed to love the humidity. It's curly, but I flat iron it. It behaved very well. Now, I've seen your photo, and you're beautiful! Who are you kidding??? ;) :cutie:

I'll try to get another "episode" up today. Minnie is home sick from school today. Post Disney cold.

Thanks again, all! Hugs and Kisses!

Sabrina- The kids did quite well with the time change. We let them have 6 hours of sleep on travel day and EE slept 3 hours on the plane. They went to sleep around 10:30 on the first night. From that point on, they were acclimated to the new time zone. Now that we're home, they're all messed up. EE is down at 7:00pm and up at 5:30am. Minnie is back on regular time.

Kathymc- Thank you! Minnie does have different look to her. She got a great tan this summer. We put in a pool, so we all came to Florida with a tan! My DS is otherwise a huge photo ham. As soon as we stepped on Disney property, he refused to look at the camera. I got a few shots to be added later in the story.

Whoever said "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is full of it. I've no plans to return. I don't know what they put in the water there.
:rotfl2:

We head into the lobby where we are leid. No, no people.. I don't want to get leid, I want to be focked!
:rotfl:

I'm a little nervous about writing this TR, considering the excellent and witty writing skills of my predecessors; UtahMama, PrincessV, Sorul82?, GMax and other limeys.
No worries. You're doing great! (Not to mention posting more frequently than some others who shall not be named!)

Day 2 Continued:
We arrive back at the Poly, completely melting. I'm sweating from places I had no idea had the ability to sweat. We peel our clothes of and throw on the swimsuits. I think about how gross that is, but I don't care. I'm sure I am swimming in everyone else's sweat water. :confused3 The more the merrier, I always say. :teeth:

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2009.jpg

So, we swim for awhile and decide to head back to our room for a nap. As soon as we make into our longhouse, the heavens open up and drench the joint. Haha! We just made it. We nap, shower and dress for dinner at Epcot. We jump on the Monorail and head on over. Have I mentioned that I love, love, love Epcot? We're early for dinner, so we do a little touring. We enter the Mexico pavillion and whoa! It's like we're in Olvera Street! Familiar territory... we all have a good laugh. It's funny how they portray the Mexican culture. Everything is so loud and gawdy. We ride the Rio del Tiempo. We're 3rd generation Hispanic, and this ride makes us realize how disconnected we are from our culture. We all enjoy the ride and it makes us nostalgic for Grandma's homemade food. Can you just smell the fresh tortillas? If you've never had homemade, handmade tortillas, you're missing out. They are something not to be missed in a lifetime. They melt in your mouth... just like butah!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2007.jpg
That's me with the bra strap showing... tacky, huh?
We head over to France, not realizing how dang far it is! We check in for dinner at Le Chefs de France. We are seated immediately. This is not a good sign. Our server, Gaelle was wonderful. She was so attentive and sweet to our kidlets. Props to Gaelle! The food on the other, was less than par. I started with the goat cheese and tomato tart. I'm thinking, tart... smallish, right? Nope, it was a pizza. It had the most bitter tomato sauce and these small rounds of cheese. I just picked off the cheese, yum-o. My main course I had a porkchop that was so tough, I couldn't even eat it. The best part of the meal was dessert. I had these little puffs filled with Chocolate/Cinnamon ice cream. It was to die for. Also, Minnie's kiddie salad came with this cheesy poof thing. That was awesome! Total for dinner: $216.04 Thanks dining plan!
We leave Chefs and we're getting our strollers together, when a group of 3 ladies call to us "Dis-er!" Joe immediately points to me. "She is" he grunts. Thanks alot caveman! They're off before I can say..."Hey, I'm DisneylandMama... and you are....?? So, I grab my camera and take a photo of them walking off. So if this is you in the lime green shirt with black capris and the other 2 in Tink shirts... HI!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics027.jpg

We head toward Morocco. Minnie spots Aladdin and must take a photo w/ him, since she was Jasmine last Halloween and he is sans the *real* Jasmine.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics028.jpg

We head over to Japan. We love Japan. My SIL is 1/2 Japanese and because of her, we are really familiar with this culture. We shop in the huge gift shop, steering Minnie clear of the Hello Kitty corner. What's up with that? I turn and find.... OMG!!! My beloved toy from my childhood... Monnchichi!! I show Joe the little monkey that made my life complete as a child. I start to sing the song, "Monnchichi, Monnchichi.. oh so soft and cuddly... Joe looks and me, does the eyeroll  and walks away. Thanks, alot caveman!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics031.jpg

We're ready to leave Japan... oh man, where's Waldo. Oh he's right behind me. Ok, good. Now where's Waldo's wife? Of course, she's buying something we could buy in Little Tokyo in LA for half the price. Whateva'. I'm outta here.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3021.jpg

We take a few photos out front and continue 'round the WS.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics032.jpg
My very own Monchichi!
We ask Waldo if he wants to see the American Adventure. He says no, I ask "Why, 'cause you can remember it? :lmao: Joe looks at me and we laugh. Poor Waldo.
We head into Italy... we do the Griswald neck thingy and move on.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics037.jpg

Next stop, Germany. Little EE spys the Mini Train display. He's completely enchanted. Trains are his bag, baby. We have to drag EE from the train thingy with the bribery of a toy train. Minnie remembers her Kidcot stuff, so she and I hit that and Joe, EE and Walt are looking around the toy store for a toy train. Ok, hello... Germany? They have a huge train display and now the toy store doesn't have any kind of train toy in it???? What's up with that? Darn you, Germany. Little EE is freaking out. I pick him up and put him in the sleeper hold and he's out in 5. Sleep, my pretty, sleep. We're ready to leave Germany and guess who we can't find? Ding, ding, ding.... you win a prize. WALDO! Oh, Nini says, he went to the bathroom. Ok, which bathroom? Hmmm.... we wait, and wait... Finally we give up and head to China. And who do we see in China.... Waldo. He says he figured we'd figure to move to the next pavillion. Lord give me the strength to not have a full toddler tantrum right now. Breathe in, breathe out. Yoga positions... downward dog...bending tree... namaste. I made that up in case any of you Yogi. We hit Norway and ride Maelstrom. I tell Minnie, I don't think there's a drop. I think it's just about trolls and such. Hello, that ride freaked her out. Sorry, Minnie.
We find a spot for Illuminations just past Mexico. Little EE is asleep and Minnie and I want to do some shopping before IRE starts in 30 mins. We head to the first store in search of toys... no toys, but we find Waldo in there. Uh, oh... Mama has to use the potty. We run to the nearest restroom and start back and find a toy store. We find Tinkerbell Polly Pocket dolls for Minnie and a Disney bus with Mickey and Goofy for Little EE. I call Joe and he tells me to get back to our spot NOW. Uh-oh... he used the tone. The tone that tells me, *I'm losing it and you need to come and calm me down* I'm almost afraid to go back. Let's see.. what could it be.... did he lose Waldo? I haven't spent THAT much money... does he have tummy issues??? Me and Minnie high tail it back to Joe and company......

Yeahhhh! I found you! You are on FI-Yah!

LOOK at your babies!!! Your DS has cheeks, I tell you what! (We should hook up our toddlers some time! THAT would be a FUNNY play date! MY DD2 could out scream your EE with her eye's closed...wait, You know what I mean!)

You ALL look adorable!

I love how Waldo takes over and has no idea about ADR's etc! You are a patient woman!

I remember Monchichis too! I can still hear their commercial in my head!

Thank You for the cameos! I'm all reading, then, BAM! There I am on yer TR! I'm flattered!

I've been to Olvero Street!!! It has alot of that stuff that's at the Mexican Pavillion. I had purchased some wool blankets in LA for like $10.00 for 2 and the Epcot version is $30.00 for 1! I actually love some of the folk art! I felt nostalgic for "home"!! There's so much I miss about California (sigh)!

I'm subscribing so I wont neglect you again! If I do, PM me, I dont want to miss anything! (I dig Joe's "attitude"!)

It's almost 3pm and this is my first chance to post on the dis. Last night was terrible. DS took a nasty fall right into the coffee table and gashed his eye open. Trip #2 to the ER this year for him. 4 stitches. He made daddy proud, and mama cry. One am DS is up with fever and vomiting. Does he have a concussion? Back to the ER, no concussion, he has an acute ear infection. This poor kiddo. Back from the ER and kiddo is resting comfortably with a dvd.

Shout outs first:

Daisy77: It wasn't meant to be a cliffhanger, but I just got to darn tired last night to finish :confused3 :rotfl: Thanks for reading!

Hope your son is feeling better soon and you manage to get some sleep. :goodvibes

Minnie and I rush back to Joe and company to find out what is going on. Joe and Waldo are laughing. What the....?? What's going on?? :bitelip: I come to find out a highly inebriated young Aussie tries to pick a fight with Waldo, a 71 year old man! I guess Joe and company were "saving" our spot along the lake thingy for IRE, oh and we happened to score a table, too. Well this guy and his family just horn in on our table. Waldo politely tells this man, "We're saving this spot for our family." Only to be told by Mr. Drunk Aussie, "You can't save spots." So now Waldo gets all Mr. T on Aussie man and yells at him, "Hey fool, I told you, I'm saving this spot." So drunk Aussie, get up in the old mans face and Joe to the rescue. Joe gets ghetto on Aussie man and starts laying into Aussie man about his manners and to respect the old man. Now a secret about Joe; he looks really mean, he has a dark goatee and wears sunglasses, all the time. But I know he is just a big 'ol softy. Joe tells me a refuses to swear in WDW.... how funny, huh? Well, Aussie man senses Joes ghetto quality and moves on.... not without giving Waldo and Joe the bird. :rotfl2: I ask Joe, why did you make me rush over here when I was enjoying my shopping spree. Oh, he says, I just wanted to tell you what just happened while my adrenalin is still pumping. What a goof ball! :joker: We all regroup for Illuminations. The first bursts of fireworks, Little EE wakes from his slumber. "Ohhhh... feutiful, pireworse" he says. Yes, EE, beautiful fireworks. What a beautiful story/show. The show ends and our cheeks are hurting from smiling so much. What a great way to end our day. We head back to the Monorail and back to the resort. While were on the monorail, I show Little EE my purchase for him. He takes it looks at it, gives it back and says. "No, want Ronorail." ARGHHHHHH!! :bitelip: Ok, let's stop in the gift shop and we find a dye cast Monorail for him. He's happy. Back to the room for baths and bed time. What a great day! :sunny:

I think.... AK is too hot. I think sweaty underwear is gross. I think I still love Epcot. I think Le Chefs, sucks, except for the dessert. I think the CM in WDW are nicer than DLR. I think Germany needs to sell toy trains. I think Aussie guy shouldn't drink I think I need to actually meet a disser, soon.

Where's Waldo count for Day 2: 3
Waldo: 0

I would have LOVED the confrontation with the drunk Aussie. THAT would have been funny! Overweight white-bread mama from Downey California going all ghetto! I love the 2 times in my life I gotta get in someones's face!

I love BOYS! Give them something with wheels and they're happy. Doesn't work with girls. They require expensive pink bribes! OR, mama-daughter time at BBB! Cant WAIT!

I guess I will have to try that this next trip. My kids had a terrible time adjusting to the time, but then again they stayed up until their normal bedtime 9 pacific time, 12 Orlando time, the bad part was they wouldn't get up until 9-9:30, we ended up having to miss or reschedule most of our breakfast adrs.

Re: Tortillas, yummmm girl there's nothin like the taste and smell of fresh tortillas. I make some every now and then, I finally got the masa recipe down, if only my tortillas would come out in circles and not shapes of countries.

Looking forward to the rest of your report!

We decide to do LOEMH, inspite of TGM's advice. Nini and Waldo are broken. Their legs are hurtin', their dogs are barkin'. We leave them behind and Joe, Walt and I take on MK with the kidlets.
Side Note: The following segment is just the opinion of the author. It is not meant to insult, offend or upset anyone. We are DLR AP and we do compare *our* DLR to MK in this installment.
Joe, Walt and I are up early and we stop at the Kona Koffee Bar for our fix and some breakie. Coffee and danish all around... whoo hoo. Breakfast of champions. We jump on the Monorail in record time and arrive at the gates at 7:40ish. We find a line with only 1 couple, a mama, daddy, and 1 kidlet, I think only 1. We're standing there for about 10 minutes and the mama turns around and tells me "Well, your just full of lime, aren't ya?" What, what, what??? I look at her stroller and see a LGMHPC hanging from her stroller. Now I have 2 LGMHPC's tied with lime green ribbon on each stroller. A foam MH on my lanyard, a LGMHPC on Joe's backpack, a LGMHPC on my bag. I am lime overkill. Sweet mother of Jesus! I have found one of my peeps! We start chatting about the LOEMH (little ones extra magic hour) and such. I give her my "Disness" card so she can find me on the boards. They open the turnstyles and away we go. I didn't get her dis name... darn it. Hopefully she finds me..... "Hi dis-er from MK!!!"
We hoof it down Main Street. Wait, wait... I see the castle... oh my... how beautiful.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics043.jpg
Nice crane!
Wait a second, that castle makes *our* castle look like a Hamster house. Not cool. Joe tells me to "Move it" meaning, let's get over to Fantasyland. What the....?? We approach FL only to find a rope and see alot of characters playing around in an empty Fantasyland.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics044.jpg

The characters make it over to the rope and we count down FL opening. Whoo hoo! We're off!! TGM says hit Dumbo NOW! We park the strollers and Joe and Walt take the kids on the ride while I take photos.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics045.jpg

Next, we hit up Peter Pan. Hello... no wait! DLR always has a crazy wait. I'm talking 40 mins, no matter what time of the day it is. We never ride it at DLR. DLR seriously needs to get FP for Peter Pan. After this we see Peter and Wendy playing tag with a group of kids. I ask Minnie, "Do you want to play?" "Nah, she says let's hit some rides." Attagirl!! We walk over to Pooh, again no wait. Now I like the setting for the Pooh ride in DLR... it's set in the woods. But I like the ride part at MK.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics049.jpg

After Pooh, we headed over to IASW. Now IASW is WAY better at DLR. The building at DLR is so much prettier. The rides are totally different. I like the ride better at MK, Joe and Walt like DLR. After having that song pounded into my head Minnie decide to hit the Teacups, but first a quick photo of Minnie with Minnie.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics047.jpg

We grab our strollers and head that way. Little is EE has been possessed by the terrible 2's and refuses to leave his stroller. He normally loves this ride, but he's holding out for Waldo, his best friend to arrive and ride on rides with him. Okey dokey, kiddo.
After our spin around in the teacups, we receive a call from Nini and Waldo, they are in the park and we set up to meet at Space Mountain. We walk on over to SM and wait and wait and wait for Waldo and his lovely bride of 50 years to arrive. Do you sense a pattern here?? :rotfl2: We grab some cokes and send Walt over to get FP's for SM. Waldo and Nini arrive and they want to take the kids on the People mover. We sure miss this ride at DLR. :lovestruc I don't know why they had to change it to the Rocket Rods. Now, don't get me wrong, the RR's were really cool, WHEN THEY WORKED!! That ride was always down. Now the track just sits there... empty. :sad2: Walt scores us some FP's and we hit decide to go Standby first. We literally walk ALL the way down to the ride and board. Ok, this looks different. We're open minded. We jump on and away we go. I'm sorry, but this ride SUCKS compared to DLR. They should just tear it out and start again. DLR has real seats like BTMRR and music that is piped into the headrest to enhance your ride. We got off the ride and we all gave eachother the :confused3 look and started laughing. We tossed our FP in the trash and went to find Nini and Waldo. We waited for Nini & Waldo and told them about SM, they decided to pass. Next we rode Buzz. We liked the queue for BL in MK.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics053.jpg

But the blasters in DLR come off the cars and it's much easier to shoot with. Toward the end of the ride it broke down for 5 mins and we were stuck! Little EE wants off!! Now!! Just great. We finally make it off and head for.... Stitch. Minnie wants to ride it next. Now I've read all I can read about how terrible this ride is. And now I believe it. That ride was so obnoxious. But Minnie loved it! She was laughing out loud with her silly 4 yo laugh. It was cute :cloud9: Waldo and Nini want to take the kids on the Indy cars. So I send Joe over to take photos of them on the ride. Needless to say, Waldo didn't hear Joe yelling at him to stop for the photo op. Oh, well. Time for me to hit the shops. I find my brothers dog a cutie little princess cone hat thing princess: with ears, a mug for bro, a Tink shirt for Minnie and a hat for Little EE. I find Walt who is talking to a CM who used to live in Lake Forest, which is where I used to work. I find some other things and purchase them and send them off to the resort. The CM ringing me up asks about my 50th Anninversary DLR lanyard and I tell him we are from California. He asks what city. Turns out his mother lives about a mile from us. What a small world.
We want to hit the other side of the park, so we decide to jump on the train in Toontown. I remind Minnie of the Barnstormer from the vacation planning video and how she was dying to ride. Well, she has a change of heart, but Little EE wants to ride. We measure him up and whoo hoo!! He makes it. I ride with EE and Walt rides with Nini. EE loved it! :bounce: He was yelling and laughing, it was a great memory for me.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics054.jpg

We made a quick stop at the boat for some water fun.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3028.jpg

We get off in Frontierland and the others jump on Splash. I'm not in the mood, so I stay with the kids. Waldo decided to stay with me. We're waiting for the others when all of a sudden, Waldo disappears. Great, he leaves me with 2 strollers and 2 kids. I wanted to take a pic of them coming down the waterfall, so I manuever 2 strollers up and around the little hill. Tah da! There's Waldo sitting down watching everyone go down. Thanks alot, Waldo. I get out the camera and prep for the shot. Waldo tells me he just saw them on the top. So I figure I've got a minute. I point and am ready to shoot. I'm standing there, waiting.... waiting.... popcorn:: waiting... "Oh," Waldo says "I think we missed them." I turn around to look at Waldo. And there they go. :bitelip: I totally missed the shot. Thanks, again, Waldo. I call Joe and tell him, we're frying out here, we're going into Pecos to get some lunch, meet us there. I grab a couple tables and have Waldo sit while I get the kids some lunch. By the time I get back, the others are there and we're getting orders together. I order the BBQ pork sandwich and a coke. I'm feeding the kids and here comes my lunch. Ewwww... it looks like road kill. I pick at it.. there's too much meat and too much bread... gross. I drink the coke and eat the yummy Peanut Butter cup dessert. Next stop... POTC. I know I am going to get flamed... but I don't find Johnny Depp sexy in the least. I love his CJS character, but I find him kind of goofy. And Orlando Bloom, well, he just seems more cute, than sexy. I dunno. Anyway, we're heading toward POTC when Little EE tells me "Uh, oh, mama." Oh no... he opened his sippy cup and spilled all his milk all over him. He's going to smell like sour cream in a few minutes in this heat. Joe takes him into the bathroom and cleans him up while I head into the nearest store for a new $25 t-shirt. Ok, everything is good. We ride POTC, but it seems our of order compared to DLR. Weird. We decide we've melted enough for today and start to head toward Main Street, when who do we run into....

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3030.jpg

He was very convincing as CJS. We leave Nini and Waldo with CJS and we head over to the Aladdin carpets. Joe and Minnie ride while EE and I enjoy the Tiki water sprayers. We head out walking completely through the gift shops on Main St. Ahhhhh!!! Air conditioning!!! Since Minnie has an appointment at 2:10 pm at the BBB, we decide we should part ways in the Poly lobby with Nini and Waldo taking Little EE back to the room. Walt, Joe and I take Minnie to catch a DTD bus.

Sorry this is a long one! Hope you enjoy!

Teriffic installment! :thumbsup2 I'm really enjoying your comparisons to DLR. I've never even considered a trip to CA for DLR, figuring everything's the same and we live less than 2 hours from WDW. I think you're changing my mind! Seriously? The BL blasters DISCONNECT at DLR??? That would soo improve my score! :cool1:

What's next... and where's Waldo?! popcorn::

Yup, the blasters DISCONNECT You should come! :bounce: Leo would love it at DCA, they have Flicks Fair (Bug's Life). When you walk into Flicks Fair, everything is huge. It's like you're a little bug. Very cute. My kids love it.
I even volunteer to meet you there! :teeth:

Annamonte, Bushdianee, dean556, uhtimex, s.poppins, disneyobsession: Thank you, thank you!! :sunny:

UM: Dontcha love toddler talk? It almost makes up for the tantrums. I can't figure out how *they* learn to throw tantrums??? I could just see EE and Nora together. He'd probably just stare at her. He loves blondes. He'd give her the "How you doin'?" Joey Tribbiani line. ;)

Al&Kate Mom: I NEED a support group. Where do I sign up? Little EE has been to the ER 3 times. 2 times already this year, this was his first set of stitches. The other times were for really bad bumps on the noggin. I swear I'm going to put that kid in a bubble.

DebIreland: Thanks! Boys aren't easy. Girls are drama, but I'd take drama over the crazy active boys! His famous line is "Saw-we, mama" He just melts my heart!

Sabrina: I don't have the arm power for homemade tortillas. Besides, mine also looking like obscure countries. Where in LA are you?

Tommy&Tammy: He's got the chubbies all over. Chubby cheeks, chubby thighs, chubby knees. He gets his cheeks squeezed all the time from the little old ladies in the stores. I just want rub his legs with butah, and chew on 'em!! :rotfl:

Becky521: Thanks! Feutiful is a new word. He learned in WDW, 'cause I kept saying, "Oh, look at the beautiful.... castle... princess...pool...!" Now, everything is beautiful!

Will try to get a new installment up today. I'm redoing EE's room from a baby nursery to a big boy room. He chose the "Cars" theme. Thank goodness, that's easy! Gotta finish painting today! :artist:

Hope I didn't miss anyone! I want to thank everyone for reading!! Hope you enjoy reading about my crazy family! I know I do!! :p

Girl, I only do a dozen at a time and thats only every few months. Guerrero makes a pretty good tortilla that is raw you cook it on comal and they are pretty close to the real thing.

I live in Lynwood (near South Gate 710/105) and you?

Day 3 Continued:

We part ways with Waldo and Nini as they take the sleeping EE to their room. Joe, Walt, Minnie and I jump on a bus to DTD. We hike over to World of Disney and find the BBB. We're about 40 mins early. Walt and Joe decide it's too pink in here for them, so they take off and stay in contact via cellphone. A woman infront of us has a small toddler who is checking in, but the little girl doesn't want to do it. The woman has to cancel the appointment. We score her appointment. The girl at the front desk checks us in and asks me Minnie shoe and dress size. They give us a brochure that shows all the different hairstyles available and tell us to walk around until our pager goes off. We look around the store which is Princess overkill. I feel like I'm in pink hell. Minnie on the other hand is in pink heaven. Our pager goes off and we are assigned Fairy Godmother in training, Ginny. Ginny is not at all what I expected. She is very matter of fact and sort of cold at first. I can tell she's trying really hard to be like the others, who are all "oooohy and ahhhhhy" over everything. FGM Ginny tells Minnie there is a surprise in the dressing room for her. Minnie and I head into the dressing room and there hanging is a white garment bag is her Princess Aurora gown complete with shoes, wand and crown. We dress and return to Ginny for Minnies makeover.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics063.jpg

Poor Minnie is sooooo tired, she's having a hard time staying awake. She loves her hair brushed, so this is very relaxing to her. We're almost finished, so I call Joe to come over and see his princess. Joe arrives and we're waiting for Minnie to finish. Joe casually asks me "How much is this?" I whisper, "About $200, but it includes the dress, shoes, hair, nails, make-up, wand, and crown and a photo shoot."
Joe:
Me: ::yes::
I tell him, "Just be quiet and let the girl enjoy her day." We're sitting there and a father brings his 3 little girls in. Joe looks at me and says "$200, $400, $600....." I tell him, aren't you glad you only have 1 girl? :rotfl:
Princess Minnie is done and we walk out of there with a smiling Princess. It was worth every cent. princess: We head over to Guest Services in DTD where they do the photo shoot. I takes all of 10 minutes for posing and pictures printed.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/maddie4.jpg

We head over to the buses. I'm worried about Minnie is this dress in the heat. We stop and get her a bottle of water. There is a little girl walking infront of us with her family, who is dressed like Cinderella, just from BBB as well. The girls get lots of attention as we make our way to the buses. Thank goodness, the bus comes, pronto. We get on the bus and so does Cinderella and her family. Poor Cinderella is tired and throwing a fit on the bus, screaming and yelling and hitting her mom. Now, I may get flamed for this, BUT....Our kids are not perfect, but neither kid has ever been a screamer, yeller, or hitter. They know temper tantrums don't work with us. Especially with Joe. I feel so bad for parents when this happens. They look helpless and frustrated. Now Cinderella's mother starts yelling and screaming at this child in the middle of the bus. I'm not a child psycologist, but I don't that helps. The poor girl screams and cries herself to sleep, the child that is. Of course Minnie is all eyes and ears and asks me, "Why is she crying?" "Why is her Mama yelling?" I tell Minnie, "Cindy is tired." Minnie shrugs and puts her head of fake hair in my lap and falls asleep, too. :cloud9: We stop at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, I can't remember. Anyway, a family of 5 gets on. The husband looks annoyed. Half of them sit to the left of us and the other half sit across from us. The husband tells his wife, "We're neva gonna make it" With a Pittsburgh accent. She tells him, "Well, that's yor fawlt you had to ... blah, blah.. blah, blah... blah... It's not my problem... blah, blah, blah.......
I can't believe what I am witnessing. It's very uncomfortable to sit between people you don't even know, who are having a public argument. Very weird.
Weird people.
Anyway.....
We get back to room and Minnie doesn't want anyone to see her until we leave for dinner. We all wash the *glistening* off. (That was for you ET) And dress for dinner. We jump on the monorail and head over to the GF for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Oh my, that was a great buffet. I'm not a huge fan of buffets, Minnie is. Her favorite restaurant is Hometown Buffet :lmao: We all sit to eat and after the first bite, Joe looks at me and says "This sure isn't Hometown Buffet!" We all :rotfl2: We take lots of pics with Perla and Suzie. Little EE won't take a photo with character. He plays shy. We got him a few times with Prince Charming....

We leave 1900 PF, not before a quick photo with the REAL Fairy Godmother.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics071.jpg

We head back to the hotel. We've nothing planned this evening, but maybe fireworks from the beach. We're back at the Poly and Minnie is getting alot of attention. She's having a hard time processing it, so I encourage her to at least say "Hi" back to people when they make a comment about her. We walk past a little girl maybe 3 yo and she says "Hi Sleeping Beauty" with such enthusiasm. Minnie giggles and says to me, "She called me Sleeping Beauty" Minnie says "Hi!" and the little girl yells back to her "I love you Sleeping Beauty!" and Minnie replys "I love you, too!" Oh my goodness, it was sooo sweet! After that encounter, Minnie had no problem throwing her Princess wave to all who said "Hi, Princess!" :cloud9:
We're not ready to go back to the room, so we do some shopping in the resort gift shops. I take some photos of the resort.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics098.jpg

We all decide to do some night swimming, so we get our suits on and head to the pool, only to be told, the pool is closed due to high levels of electricity in the air. We head to the beach and score a hammock and decide to wait for the fireworks. Walt joins us on the beach. We're watching some serious lightening. Walt decides the lightening is too much, so he hightails it back to the room. I mean this 6'3" kid is running like a little girl for shelter. Joe and I are cracking up at the sight. :rotfl2: We start to feel rain and see BIG lightening and head back to the room. Our room was a mess, so Joe and the kids watch the rain and lightening while I organize our room and prepare us for the MK tomorrow. I tell Joe, go down to the Tambu lounge and get me a cocktail. He take Walt with him and they bring me a yummy Mai Tai. We get the kids bathed and ready for bed, throw Chicken Little on the DVD player and we're off to sleep.

I think...
I think Little Ones Magic Hour is great.... I think Space Mountain is better at DLR.... I think Pukos Bill is yucky.... I think they Poly is really beautiful...I think I'm not even close to being ready to go home.

Where's Waldo Count: 2
Meltdowns: 2

Up next: Another day at MK, & CP and my $20 mistake & MGM
It's a great big beautiful tomorrow.......

I tell Joe, go down to the Tambu lounge and get me a cocktail. He take Walt with him and they bring me a yummy Mai Tai.

Your daughter looks just lovely!!!!
I actually like the princess gift shop! The build-a-crown and build-a-wand stations are soooo fun looking. But I still have a little one who puts little pretty things in her mouth...so we put off the crown and wand stations (plus, dont tell anyone, but we're CHEAP!)

I was wide awake at 7 am. You know, I tried to get a wake up call, but when I called the line, it just rang and rang. Oh well, I used my cell phones alarm clock and I have lots of Disney music downloaded onto it. I got myself all ready and woke the kidlets at 7:30am. They dressed and we headed to the Kona Coffee bar for our usual. The CM remembered us from the previous days and she rang us up with our usual grub. I took the bag and *plop* I dropped Joe's croissant. Oops, sorry, Joe! Ok, so no one saw... do I just pick it up, dust it off, and throw it in the bag? Or do I do the right thing and buy another one? My conscience got the best of me, so I told our friend behind the coffee bar and she gave me a new one.... free of charge! I love her for that! I let Nini and Waldo know we are leaving for MK at 8:30 so be at the Monorail, or be left behind. You know they started calling me "Disney Nazi" The noyve!
Waldo and Nini make it to the monorail in time and we're off to MK. We arrive at 8:50 to see the little opening show.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3041.jpg

I got all misty eyed. Thank goodness for my big Jackie-O sunglasses! We go down Main Street and Nini wants to take a photo of us.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2008.jpg
Notice Waldo doesn't make it to the photo op in time, he's just off to the left. Well, that's because he wandered.
We head over to Frontierland only to find another rope. Argggg! We wait patiently as I'm already starting to *glisten*. The rope drops and where are the people?? We parade on over to the BTMRR and I ask for a baby swap. The CM looks at me like I have 3 heads. He says to me, you're not going to need one. Okey dokey, Mr. CM. Walt, Joe and I proceed thru the long, long, long queue. I can't imagine standing in this line. We jump on the wildest ride in the wilderness. It's great! Much different that DLR, longer I think and maybe faster? We love MK version better.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3043.jpg

We exit and let Nini and Waldo ride. We tell Walt to watch the kidlets, Joe and I want to go on Splash. We walk thru this very long queue. What's up with the long queues? We board the log thingy. Already different. At DLR you straddle the seat and the boat only holds a max of 7 people. I already love this ride! It's way longer in MK than in DLR. I'm happy! We exit the ride and meet up with our group. We decide we want to hit Haunted Mansion today. Nini and Waldo go first this time. We sit with the kidlets at the entrance and watch all the mutant bugs flying around. We notice a family looking for their personal stroller. The woman starts yelling at the CM standing near the stroller parking asking him where he put her stroller. He says he didn't move her stroller. She tells him it was right there and now it's gone. Apparently, someone stole/accidently took her stroller. The CM asks if she would like him to call security and she says no and storms off. Weird. Weird people. I do notice alot of personal stroller with nothing personal on them. I put my laminated MH's and even put a sticker on my strollers with my info on them.
Nini and Waldo exit the ride and now it's our turn. Nini and Waldo decide to take the kiddies to Fantasyland. Ok, well meet you there, I say. I know we're going to lose Waldo and he has my babies.....
Walt, Joe and I ride HM... I love this ride, too! I love the "look" of the mansion. It's soooo much cooler than our Colonial style and MK's is more gothic looking. I likey the gothic look. I'm trying to look at the grave yard and take photos when the CM working the door tell me to "hurry up". I look at Joe and we start laughing at the inside joke. Side Note: Joe and I were looking to purchase a twin mattress for Minnies new twin bed. We went to this mattress factory in a nearby town and were told by the salesman/owner that they only accepted cash. Well, I had a credit card and a check book. I told him if he wanted cash, I'd have to go to the bank and come back. So he tells me, "Ok, but I close in 5 minutes so HURRY UP!" with his cute little accent. Well, it's funny to Joe and I. Nice sales skills Mr. Mattress Man! Ok, so I like the outside of MK HM, and the ride seems scarier and darker than DLR, but the attic scene is way better at DLR. They just changed it and it's really cool! I won't spoil it... you'll just have to come to Cali and visit me!
More tomorrow... I'm tired! Off to bed now..... :tiptoe:

I got misty eyed watching the footage online of the MK opening show. I know...that's so sad! I can't imagine how bad it would be for me to be there in person. I feel ya! I have never been lucky to see the opening show. :sad2: My goal is to try to see it this November when we're there! There's just so much love there for the most magical place on Earth! Loving your report and all your photos!

I did meet some other DISers. I ran into one at Epcot, we were both waiting to be seated at Le Cellier. Then again later that afternoon, someone else noticed my Mickey at Epcot. I also saw another mickey head fanatic at the Boardwalk one night. Dressed in a lime green shirt, lime green crocs and must have had a dozen mickeys. I didn't get a chance to talk to her as we were both watching a street performer, and then she disappeared. So, if it was someone reading this...hello!!! Hope you enjoyed the street performer as much as we did, but I am guessing that you did, as I think it was someone in your group that got to throw the bananas!

And I am glad I was helpful about WL! We do absolutely love it!! I am sure you will enjoy your stay next year! (We got a free upgrade and had bunk beds..worked great!) If I can ever get airfare from Ohio to California for what I can get it to Florida...I'll be at your park in an instant!!

Thank you! My Minnie taught me a valuable lesson regarding the SB costume. I tried to talk her into being Belle because Minnies coloring is more like Belle than SB. Minnie really wanted to be SB and we got the Disney Store Halloween costume catalog. Well in the catalog a beautiful little black girl is dressed as SB and my Minnie tells me, "You see mama, all little girls can be SB." How right she was... lesson taught by a child. :goodvibes
Please come visit *our* park! I give my limey friends an open invitation to tourguide Disneyland Mama! :thumbsup2

That's a sweet story! I love that so many kids these days are "color" blind! DDs school has such a diverse population that it is all "normal" - DD is also a true believer of what is on the inside - as we both get judged not by our ethnicity but our size! Which seems to still be okay!

OKAY DISers - from here on out... I want everyone to let me know whey you are going to be in WDW - I know that DD and I have to have passed paths with MANY of you since we are usually in a park at least once a week!!! I want itineraries!!!! LOL!!!! I'm just not a great one to walk up to folks - I guess I should be a better ambassodor! LIME GREEN is a very popular color even for non-Dissers at Disney I suspect!

I had a LGMH on my camera bag during MNSSHP - but no one noticed it..... I guess I need something bigger!!!

*** I took the bag and *plop* I dropped Joe's croissant. Oops, sorry, Joe! Ok, so no one saw... do I just pick it up, dust it off, and throw it in the bag? Or do I do the right thing and buy another one? My conscience got the best of me, so I told our friend behind the coffee bar and she gave me a new one.... free of charge! ***

I think I may have just blown it off and stuck it in the bag...you know about the 15 sec rule?!?

***Waldo and Nini make it to the monorail in time and we're off to MK. We arrive at 8:50 to see the little opening show. ***

I have never seen the opening show and was unaware of it up until a few months ago! Thanks DIS-ers!

***We notice a family looking for their personal stroller. I do notice alot of personal stroller with nothing personal on them.***

If you bring a personal stroller, I would think you should put something on it to "mark" it! How easy it would be to "take" the wrong stroller!

Can't wait for more...hurry up and post...please?!? :thanks:

Seriously?? How funny. You know, I realized I had no dis-apparel on when we walked around the resort. My purse, backpack and stroller had LGMHPC's, but I didn't walk around with them at the resort! Did you run into any other dis-ers?
I had my everpresent baggalini with the lgmh on it everywhere including our strolls around the resort..but no I did not meet any other dissers :sad2: I felt like I was stalking anyone in lime green tho :lmao:
The former teacher in me pays more attention to the children around me than the adults plus my DD is also 4 and drawn to anyone her size...so when I saw the pics of your DD I do remember seeing her as we walked through the resort, because I remember thinking to myself how pretty she is. :goodvibes So at some point we must have passed each other ..lol...I think next time I will just tape a LGMH to my forehead :teeth:

Last I left off Joe, Walt and I were getting off the HM and we now go in search of Waldo and co. I know they are in Fantasyland somewhere. What I don't realize is that Fantasyland spans almost the length of the park. We enter FL thru the little tunnel near HM and see the stroller parking area. We do a quick look for our 2 strollers. Nope, not there. So we figure they went further into FL. We walk thru FL all the way to the Mad Tea Party. No Waldo sightings. I decide to try to call them on their cell phone. Alas, Waldos bad hearing and the noise of whatever ride they are on, prevents them from hearing the phone ringing. Hello? Ever heard of vibrate mode??? :confused3 We finally just stop running around and park ourselves in front of the Peter Pan ride. We wait, and wait and then Walt points them out getting off IASW. I guess they rode it twice, since there was no wait. We remember we have skipped one of our *must do/see* items and head for Philharmagic. They had just opened the doors for the next show so we made it in. Oh, how lovely! I just couldn't stop gushing over this show. It was great. We NEED this at DLR. Take out Pinocchio, please! Next I really wanted to ride the People Mover, since I didn't get to on our previous MK day. Again, loved it! I sure miss it at DLR!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics080.jpg
I'd heard about the Carossel of Progress, so we decided to hit that next. Not before a quick pic with Stitch, again. Minnie does love Stitch!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics081.jpg
We had 11:30 ADR's for CP, and we it was now 11:00am. CoP was perfect timing. Walt decided to sit this one out. Too bad. I thought it was cute. I don't ever remember seeing this in DLR. It's a great big beautiful tomorrow.....
We head over to CP, we're running a little late and it's PACKED! There's a huge line to check in and I'm thinking we're going to wait a while. I get us checked in and we score a bench on the porch so Minnie can watch Cinderellabration, which has just started. We get comfy and our buzzer goes off.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics097.jpg
Cool! We're seated and our server gives us the whole buffet/character spiel. It was really cute. Minnie took photos with Tigger, Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore. EE got in there a few times.

She even participated in the parade. It was fun for her.

I have to comment on the food. All the salads were really yummy and fresh. I loved the salmon, I couldn't get enough of it.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics087.jpgBribbing Little EE with soda, so he'll sit and eat... always works!
After lunch we decide we're feeling pretty good and decide to head back to the room for a quick rest and then head to MGM.
It's about 1 pm and we decide to leave for MGM at 2:45pm. We head out to the bus stop and boom the first bus to arrive is... MGM! Whoo hoo!

Up next.... my $20.00 mistake and who's kicking me?

VERY appropriate! I believe as soon as you go through the turnstyles, everyone is the same age.
Isn't there a quote over the train bridge as you enter MK that says something to that effect? I'm going to DLR today to check out the new Halloween Time decorations, so I'm going to take a photo of the Walt Disney quote.

We jump on the MGM bus and I sit and start to look thru my lanyard to make sure I have everyones Key to the World. Well, I don't. I realize we used Minnies card to open the door and I must have left in on the dresser in the room. What to do? As soon as we stop at GF I ask the bus driver if I can get a replacement at MGM. He give me the :confused3 ! I decide to jump off the bus with Walt and take a Taxi back to the Poly and have that cab wait for me with Walt while I run up to the room and grab the card. I tell Joe it's easier this way, because he's better at lifting strollers, etc. out of the bus. Joes agrees and away Walt and I go. I do as I plan and get back to the cab in record time. The driver takes us to MGM and drops us off w/in 5 minutes of the others, who took the bus. Whoo hoo... and it only cost me 20 bucks! Don't tell Joe!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics105.jpghttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics104.jpg

We head inside and make our way to the ToT and RnR. First we stop at a snack cart for uhhh... a snack. Minnie wants a pretzel and Little EE wants some strawberries. I'm waiting with my items in line behind a family of 5. The little boy (7yo?) gets himself between my stroller and the table of fruit/snacks. Well, his parents finish their business and leave. When they realize they left him behind, they call him and he almost falls on Little EE in his stroller. I catch him and ask if he's ok. I runs off and the parents give me the ol' stink eye. pirate: Like it's my fault. Get over it people.... watch your kid! Well the kid left his hat on the counter, so I pick it up and take it to him. They parents graciously take it from me and start ripping this poor little kid a new one. I mean, he didn't wander off, THEY left him. I felt so bad for him.
With snacks in hand we head over to grab some FP's for RnR and then head over to ToT. There's no wait for ToT, so we get a baby switch and Joe, Walt and I head on the ride. OMG!!! :woohoo: How can I express how much I love, love, love this ride??? It's soooooo much better here that DCA. I feel cheated with *our* ToT. I mean ours SUCKS compared to MGM. Ours just goes up and down. Whoopie! I need to write a letter to someone... we need *ours* revamped. We look at the photo and it's priceless! Joe's eyes are closed and he's trying to go into the fetal position. Walt's mouth is open and you can almost see the drool about to come out! Gross. I don't remember what I looked like :lmao: ! We did the baby swap and I ride with Waldo and Nini. Waldo is afraid of heights, so Nini is telling me to tell her when the doors open, so she can cover Waldo's eyes.???? Are you kidding me? First of all, how are you going to say anything to Waldo, who is hard of hearing, during the ride when ppl are yelling and screaming and second, how are you going to cover his eyes if he's a foot taller than you. :confused3 This, my friends, is my gene pool. :rotfl: Well, another great ride, even with the crazy parental units. :woohoo: You can imagine our picture.... Nini is attempting to cover Waldo's eyes, only to reach his shoulder area. And Waldo has his arms flailying about, attempting to shoo Nini's eye manuver away. It's priceless. :rotfl2: We meet up with Joe, Walt, and the kidlets and I show them the pic on the screen. Joe and Walt are in hysterics. It really was funny. Next we hit RnR. Joe decides to opt out, so Walt, Waldo, Nini and I head to the FP line, which is really lame, cause there is no line. We head inside and I really don't under the queue of this ride. Is it really necessary to section people off and then make you wait for the section infront of you to go before letting you in the next section? It really bothered me. I don't know why, but it did. Why not just let the line make it's way to the loading area? I think it's my OCD kicking in! :rotfl2: It's our turn to ride and away we go! :woohoo: This ride is soooo fun! I couldn't help but scream! I was more than I expected. It was as good as *our* Space Mountain! :lmao: Everyone loved this ride, even the seniors.
We all decide to split up for awhile, since Walt and Nini want to see the Indian Jones show and Joe and I want to take the kids to see Playhouse Disney thanks to the recommendation of CJNIX29 :thumbsup2 . Waldo doesn't want to see either, so we give him permission to "wander" and meet up with us at the Great Movie ride in 1 hour. Comprendo?
Joe and I make our way to PD and I send him for a snack, while Little EE and I get in the non-existant line. Well Joe comes back empty handed and tells me the line was crazy and the ppl in it were crazier. Ok, so we head inside and find a nice spot about 3 rows from the ride stage.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics106.jpg
It's not crowded, and there's plenty of room to spread out. Well, this family decides my behind looks like a good spot, so they plant themselves right up against my back. I mean I can hear them breathing, they're so close. Well, they have a baby who is learning to walk and the parents decide it's ok to use me as a balance beam, couch, kicking post. If you look closely you can see the baby standing behind me with some killer tennis shoes. Those things hurt! I keep turning around, you know in the nice way, to give them the "cut it out, your kid in bothering me" smile. Nothing..... not a word, not a "Sorry, Excuse me.." nothing. :rolleyes1 I mean c'mon ppl. I have children, so I'm not being insensitive... I do not allow my children in someone elses personal space. :furious: I finally can't take it any longer. The kicks are becoming painful, so I tell Joe, in a nice loud voice, ala Utahmama "I'm TIRED of being KICKED by this kid, so I'm getting up and we can stand at the back of the theater." I give the lady and her kid the mean smile and get up. The show was really cute otherwise. Little EE refused to dance, but Minnie danced enough for both of them. Queue bubbles and we're outta there. We need a quick potty break, so girls to their corner, boys the their corner. Minnie and I exit, I guess before the boys, which is odd, right. So we go collect the strollers and we wait for Joe and EE. No Joe and EE... we wait and wait. I try Joe's cell, no answer. I call again... again... again... no answer. Ok, has Joe's brain been taken over by Wandering Waldo? I'm getting really pissy now... is it ok to say pissy? Sorry, if it's not. Anyway, Joe finally emerges from the building and says "Where were you?" WHAAAAAAAT? I don't want to freak out in public so I just give him the ol' and we move on to the GMR.
Surprise, surprise.... everyone is where they should be. What is this trip coming to? Waldo is following directions, I think I may be in heaven. :cloud9:
We enter the GMR and see the Naria coats. Minnie and Little EE love that movie... heck, I love that movie. We ooh and ahh over the coats and continue in the line. The line seems pretty short, but it's not moving... at all. We wait in this line for 20 minutes. Our longest wait yet... and for this??? :confused3 We finally get on the ride and are really enjoying it. Until.... we enter Oz and the ride breaks down. I'm thankful that we didn't break down during the Alien scene! We're stuck for a good 15 minutes. It's close to 7 pm and we're all getting pretty hungry. We decide on the Studio Flatbread place and as soon as the ride ends, we head over. What do we find... it's closed! Closed!! Oh man... ok, we're the map. We decide to find the nearest eatery, which is the ABC Commissary. I haven't read good thing about this place, but my stomach is starting to eat itself. I order the Cuban Sandwich with the plantain chips. The sandwich was yummy, but the chips were gross. They left a nasty film in my mouth. With full tummys we decide we're done for the day, so we make our way over to the bus.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics108.jpg
Of course not before a small shopping spree and a few pictures. I find my niece a cute sparkly WDW shirt, my other nephew a Pirates shirt, and I get myself a sparkly Mickey tee. I also buy a handful of blingy Mickey hairclips for $1 each! What a bargain. We finally make it to the bus stop and our bus arrives with in a few minutes and we are on our way to the Poly. I'm ready for another cocktail.
Coming up.... drama on the bus and Minnie's attitude catches up with her....

So we're on the bus back to our resort. It's a pretty full bus, Nini and Minnie decide to sit in the back, where the temp. is not artic-like. We arrive at the Poly and everyone starts to get off. I'm getting my strollers together and I hear Minnie crying and whimpering. I see her sitting on the bench with Joe giving her a lecture. :confused3 I don't get involved... it's something Joe and I do. We back eachother up infront of the kids when it comes to discipline. When Joe is done, I see Minnie get up and apologize to him and give him a hug. I casually walk over to Joe and ask him.. what's up? He states that Minnie shoved a smaller girl on the bus while we were getting off the bus and the little girl almost fell. So, I asked did that really require a full lecture or simply an apology to the little girl? He said, well, he apologized to the girl and her father and when he confronted Minnie, she gave him the "Yeah, yeah, dad, whatever, blah, blah, blah....." Well, that is not ok with Joe. So that's what required the lecture. Minnie is at that age, where she is being influence alot by school mates, cousins, friends, etc. Well, there are consequences to that behavior at home and on vacation.
We head back to our rooms with an understanding of meeting on the beach at 9:30 for the fireworks. It's around 8:55 and Nini and Waldo call to tell us they are going to the pool and will see us on the beach at 9:30. So I start to reorganize our backpack and get things ready for our next day, when all of a sudden, I hear the *boom, boom* of fireworks. We all look at eachother and run out of the room, barefoot and all and head for the beach. There's only 1 building between our longhouse and the beach, so we're there in record time. We watch the "feautiful pireworse" from the beach, all snuggled together. I'm loving the moment... I look at my family and how happy everyone is. I can still remember the smell of the air and their hair and how I was thinking these stinky heads need shampoo and that we only have 1 more day until it all ends, and then I think... I'm ready for my cocktail! I take the kids back to the room and Joe and Waldo head to the Tambu lounge for a round of cocktails. I get the little ones bathed and into bed. Joe shows up with a Spiced Lava Flow. Hello? That thing was strong! I think he was trying to get me drunk! :lmao: We finish our drinks and hit the sack, no, not like that! :rotfl: We let Minnie decide where we would go tomorrow... Little Ones Magic Hour, again at MK, or Epcot.....

I think.....
I think Philharmagic is my favorite thing at MK. I think the salmon at CP is super good. I think DLR needs to revamp ToT. I think we needed to spend more time at MGM. I think my Minnie is growing up and getting mouthy. I think I'll cry when it's time to go home.

Where's Waldo count: 1
Where's Joe count: 1

First of all, how are you going to say anything to Waldo, who is hard of hearing, during the ride when ppl are yelling and screaming and second, how are you going to cover his eyes if he's a foot taller than you. :confused3 This, my friends, is my gene pool.

We woke up all bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7:30am. Minnie annouced to all that we would be spending the day at Epcot. That was fine with the rest of us, except Walt, who being an typical wanted to go to AK and conquer EE again. Sorry, Walt, we veto that idea. AK is way too hot for today! We got ready and headed to the Kona Koffee bar for our usual fix. I wanted to tell our friend behind the counter that today was our last day with her and thank her for her service. Well, low and behold, our friend was gone and a complete stranger was there to take our order. She didn't know our *usual*. So we had to verse her in the Disneyland Family morning ritual. She did just fine and we headed over to the seating area to eat our psuedo breakfast of coffee and paistries. We finished up and met Nini and Waldo at the monorail line. They had to eat/drink on the way to Epcot. I wait for no one! pirate:
We make it over to Epcot around 9:15 am and no one is there. It's empty, and it's Sunday??? Ok... I'm loving off season.
We head over to the Living Seas and on the way we are seduced by a very empty Character Connection. We stop for Minnie, who wants to socialize with her buddies.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics112.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics118.jpg
We make it out of there and head for the LS again. Of course we must stop for a quick photo op.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics127-1.jpg
Notice Little EE is not in the shot? Well that's because he refuses to leave his stroller. The little darling! pirate: Grrrrr!! We enter the LS and are told by a CM that Turtle Talk was just about to start. So we figure, it must be empty, right? Wrong, it's packed, so enter, then make a quick exit. We've seen it enough times at DCA, we can skip it today. Minnie finds the Kidcot station, so we sit and color a shark and the others go upstairs to check out the aquariums. Minnie and I head upstairs and find the others looking at the sea turtles being fed. They are truely beautiful creatures. Walt is so excited because he found a hidden Mickey on the sandy bottom of the aquarium. I'm thinking... it's about time, kid, we've only been here for 5 days and this is your first one. I'm crabby, cause I haven't had enough caffiene. We'll fix that soon. We "find" Nemo and check out all the fish and head back downstairs for a great photo. Fish are friends, not food.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics129.jpg

We walk over to The Land, only to find the boats are not working. We hadn't planned on riding Soarin', since we do it all the time at home, but Minnie asked to ride and since she hadn't really experienced much, we agreed. We grabbed a baby swap. Minnie rode with Nini, Waldo and Walt, while Joe and I stayed with EE.
We took EE over to the Sunshine Seasons eatery and got him a little snack of strawberries with whipped cream and Mama got a HUGE coke with lots of ice, so I could put my angry eyes away. We grabbed a table and enjoyed the time alone with EE. I introduced him to whipped cream and it was pure nirvana! He loved it! Who wouldn't? He was really cute eating his "Bewies and cweam."
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics136.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics131.jpg
The others meet up with us and now it our turn to ride. We know it's the same ride as home, but we still enjoy it. We point to the Hidden Mickey on the golf ball, just like always and the fireworks over Disneyland make us miss home. When we exit the ride, we find Waldo waiting for us. He says Little EE is acting like the devils spawn, so they took him outside. I know he's tired and cranky. We head over to Imagination! and convince Minnie that the little red cars ride is not scary and that this is a kiddie ride. She gets on and both kids love it. After the ride we check out the lab and all the computer stuff and decide to hit the other side of the park. Little EE falls asleep in his stroller, thank heaven!
We decide to hit M:S next. Joe and Nini opt out and stay with the kidlets. We park them in the shade and Waldo, Walt and I head for M:S. We decide to be on the Green Chicken Team, just to try it out. We love the ride, but feel the green side is a little too mild, but we're too chicken to do the orange side. We decide to grab some FP's for TT for later and we get the "bonus" FP for M:S. We're not sure we want to ride M:S so we hang on to them just in case. We find Joe and Nini and we are all ready for lunch, so we head to Electric Umbrella. Joe has his usual burger, Minnie order the chicken strips and I try the hot roast beef with provolone sammy. Our food is quite good. We all start talking about Disneyland's food and comparing the CS to WDW. WDW has much better CS. We hate the CS at DLR and DCA. Most of it is terrible... it tastes old and dried out. A few exceptions are Taste Pilots in DCA and Cafe Orleans in DLR.
With full tummys we are ready to continue. Joe and I are going to ride TT while the others stay with the kids. Minnie still won't ride TT, although, now that we're home, see regrets it. Sure, Minnie, sure! ;) We exit and find Minnie at the Kidcot station in TT again. We swap the kids and the others ride TT and Joe and I take the kids to Club Cool. We forgot about this the other day and wanted to make sure we checked it out. If anything, it's a great spot to cool off in.
Now, I knew about Beverly and couldn't wait to trick Joe. When we first entered, we couldn't find Beverly. So we just went about trying the other drinks. We liked the lemon-lime drink, I think it was from Israel??? I could be wrong. We make our way to the Build-a-Cup and low and behold... there it is... Beverly. I take out my camera and pretend to take photos of the kids, and tell Joe, hey try this one. Muahahahaha! I got him! The perfect photo!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics140.jpg
The others meet up with us at Club Cool and I get Walt to try Beverly, too! Double Muahahaha!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics141.jpg
We're all ready to hit WS and I count heads. Oh man, where's Waldo? I guess Waldo had to pishy and went in search of a restroom. Ok, does anyone know which restroom? :confused3 Great... we sit outside of Club Cool for 30 mins. I'm just about to :furious: when all of a sudden, Nini yells out "I see him waaaaaay over there!" Pointing to the beginning of WS. All I see is a red shirt. We gather our stuff and start heading in the general direction and *poof* he's gone again. I'm really getting :furious: at this point and so is Nini. We decide to blow him off and get on the Friendship boat to Morocco. As we're getting in line for the boat, Walt spots Waldo heading toward Canada. He shoots off to catch him yelling "Waldo! Hey Waldo!" Of course you know Waldo has shot hearing, so Walts efforts are in vain. Everyone else is turning around, but Waldo. :rotfl: It's classic! Again, this is my gene pool. I'm a lucky girl! Walt finally catches Waldo and escorts him to the boat. We give Waldo the :bitelip: and the "You're in trouble" look. Nini starts giving Waldo the 3rd degree about wandering and how we're wasting time looking for him. The rest of us are all :listen: and I have to take a photo of Nini with her angry eyes on. (Of course, I know they are behind the sunglasses!) Trust me, the faces says it all!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics147.jpg
We get off at Morocco and Waldo is walking next to me. He tells me "Your mother is mad at me...." Poor Waldo, but you think he'd learn after all this time. He's a tough pill to swallow, Nini deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor for dealing with this for 50+ years. But, he's my dad and I love him. His antics make us laugh everyday and my son adores him! They truely are best friends.
Nini is so mad at him, she tells me, she is going to go off by herself to do some shopping and she will meet us back at the Poly. I tell her ok and make sure she knows how to get back and I make sure she has her cell phone with her. I tell her to call me if she's lost or needs me. She's off. I got a pic of her taking off.... yellow shirt, black shorts, infront of Rose and Crown...
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics138.jpg
Epcot is so beautiful. I really, really love it here.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics146.jpg
We go into France, so Minnie can get her mask stamped and colored. Waldo and Joe check out the Patisserie and thank heavens, they don't buy anything! Walt is hiding out in some corner talking to his girlfriend. Oh brother! I think he misses his friends and girlfriend. I mean how cool can it be to hang out with your Aunt, Uncle, baby cousins and grandparents at WDW? Minnie states she needs to stop at the UK kidcot station. We enter the toy store and tah dah! Trains... not just any trains... Thomas the Train. This is EE's world... his life... his joy. Joe takes EE out of the stroller before I can stop him. Now, I know this is a mistake of EPIC porportions! I just turn around and help Minnie color her mask. It's time to move on and little EE throws a HUGE tantrum... he screams, he cries, he does the limp noodle move, you know, everything I said my kids don't do. Yeah, egg in my face! I walk and watch Joe try to handle the situation. Finally, out of sheer sympathy, I go to EE, pick him up from the floor and leave the store. He cries and whimpers all the way to Canada, "Tawmus twain!" Joe and Waldo are in need of adult beverages. They hit the beer stand in UK and we make our way back to the Monorail. Good-bye Epcot. See you next year, I hope! :goodvibes

Up next: Does Nini find her way back to the Poly.... Dinner at Boma where I spy a disser... and getting Waldo out of the dog house.

Okay I hate to ask, but I give up. What is BBB? Is this one of those upper class abbreviations like GF or DVC that I can't afford anyway but it is nice to dream about?

And what is a Beverly? I am not sure how I missed this last year. Is it near TT and MS?

Love your TR, I hate it is coming to an end. :guilty:

I guess it is a good thing that Umama's looks like it will last us until our Jan. trip. :goodvibes

BBB is Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. It's the salon I took Minnie to to get her hair and all dressed up. If you have DD's I highly recommend it.

At Club Cool, they have different type of CocaCola products from all over the world and you can sample them. Well, Beverly is a Coke product from Italy. It's super bitter. Thus the squished face pick of Joe.

Umama shall keep us entertained for years to come! :rotfl2:

I seriously need to get this little trippie done. I've no time to catch up on everyone elses TR!

Ok, so we leave Epcot and I'm feeling very sad. Have I mentioned that I really, really, really, love Epcot? ;) We get back to the Poly and head up to the rooms, thinking Nini will be there relaxing, right? Wrong! She's not there and there's no sign she's been there and went to the pool or anything. We decide not to panick. She's got her phone, so she'll call if she needs us. We panic slightly, only because we know she's got no sense of direction and is easily turned around.
We peel off our clothes and jump into our swim suits and hit the pool. Today is Sunday, and there are a lot more ppl and the pool, then there has been all week. I don't understand why. Joe and I discuss this a come to the conclusion that most ppl travel on Saturday. Thus wanting to take it easy on their first full day of vacation. Right? No? I don't know. Sounded good at the time. Not so much now. :confused3
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics3033.jpg
We're at the pool and here comes Miss Sassy in her swim suit. I ask Nini where have you been? "At Epcot." She says. Okay... not even going to ask. We hang out at the pool until 5pm. The Poly has this cute kiddie section with dancing water fountain spray thingy.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics2010.jpg
Yup, we got to hang out there for a good 30 mins. Not without my little cocktail, Little Miss Mai Tai or 2 or 3. My friends, the Mai Tai sisters. Back to the room to get purty for dinner.
We have 6:50 ADR's for Boma tonight. I'm really looking forward to this as I heard lots of great things about it. We decide to call a Taxi van to take us over. Joe calls the front desk and they arrange for the taxi service. We arrive at the AKL. We're ooooh-ing and ahhhhh-ing at the beautiful themeing of this hotel. It's really pretty cool looking. We go inside and more oooh and ahhhs from us. We head downstairs to Boma only to find a mob scene. We're early, but I get us checked in. We walk outside to check out the pool and such. It's really cool. I love how they made the pool look like a dirty river. And I mean that in the nicest way. Joe thinks it IS really dirty. :lmao: Our buzzer goes off w/ in 10 mins and we head back. We're seated toward the back of the restaurant and our server is Barbara. She's great, she's Cuban and has that way about her, that you just like her right away. We take turns hitting the buffet. Oh me, oh my, the food is really different here. It's so delicious! The flavors are very exotic, but not too exotic to be unfamiliar. The spice combinations are different, but good. I'm enjoying my meal and just happen to look up and see a family of 4 being seated. The mama has a LGMHPC hanging from her purse. A disser! A disser! I jump up and realize, no one is at the table but me and the kiddies. I don't want to leave them, but I want to catch her before they start their meal. I make eye contact with Joe and give him the hurry up eyes. :hyper: I grab a disness card from my backpack and head to their table. I ask the mama if she has a LGMHPC on her purse and she replys "Yes, I do." Well, I slap down my disness card and say "Hi, disser!" I have to hurry back to the table, so I quickly say, "I just wanted to say Hi! Have fun! Bye!" I leave her and tell Joe I just saw a disser... he gives me the ol  . Whatever, Joe! You just don't have a lime bone in your body, do ya? I sope she find my TR, just like my other mystery disser from MK, cjnix.
Well, I'm ready for dessert. I've heard story after story about Zebra Domes. Do they have alcohol? Do they not have alcohol? I'll have to see for my self. I make a beeline for the Zebra Domes and sure enough, there's a sign that says "Contains Alcohol". Well, I have to question that. I ate like 20 of those little things and didn't feel a darn thing! Maybe those Mai Tais killed it, I don't know. We left Boma with very full bellies. May I suggest the pressed pot of coffee. It's really a nice way to finish off the meal.
We hit the AKL gift shop, of course. But I amazingly didn't make a purchase. I think it was the Zebra Domes, after all. We all decide to just take the bus back. We have to take it to MK and grab the monorail back to the Poly. Well, tonight is EMH at MK and the bus stop was crazy full. We stepped to the side and waited for the bus. I swear I felt like all eyes were on us. Was it because there are 7 brown faces in the sea of white faces? Or was it because we were the last ones to arrive and the ppl thought we were going to try to swoop in and steal their spot on the bus? :confused3 I don't know, but it was funny. :rotfl2:
I'm not even kidding, but the bus pulls up and passes everyone else and stops right infront of us. If looks could kill, there'd be 7 brown ppl dead at the AKL bus stops. We decide it's really not worth the hassel and grab a cab back to the Poly.
We arrive back at our rooms and see the envelope we are dreading hanging from our door knob....
Now, I'm really sad.
It's close to 9 pm now and we're not sure we want to go to the MK for EMH. Minnie says she's too tired and I'm thinking I have a lot of packing to do, since we have to get out luggage down to the resort airline check and our boarding passes by 7:30am tomorrow. AND, we have 8am ADR's for O'Hana w/ Lilo & Stitch. I thought that would be our last hoorah!
We decide to stay in and rest and get things together. We get the kids bathed and our bags ready for the morning.

The kids are out cold. It's been a very busy 5 days and it's finally caught up with them.
Tomorrow.... breakfast with some old friends and crazy ppl on the airplane.

Where's Waldo count: 1, and it's a doozy!

I think.... I think I'm sad that we are leaving tomorrow. I think this trip has really sparked a love for WDW. I think traveling with family is not always a good idea, but it's fun, most of the time. I think my gene pool is questionable. I think we'll be back next year!

I loved this installment. I didn't know the Poly had one of those kid fountain things. I'll have to look into that. Was Boma's good? We're planning on trying it the next time we go. Your son looks like he's sleeping with his feet on top of your daughter! That's so funny and the reason I don't like sleeping with one of my kids! She's outgrowing it though... :teeth:

We get back to the Poly and head up to the rooms, thinking Nini will be there relaxing, right? Wrong! She's not there and there's no sign she's been there and went to the pool or anything. We decide not to panick. She's got her phone, so she'll call if she needs us. We panic slightly, only because we know she's got no sense of direction and is easily turned around.
You've just described my mother! But I have to hand it to Waldo and Nini - I'm so impressed that they have the gumption to take off by themselves in the first place. Last night, I suggested to my mom that, since she's not a morning person, DS and I can head out early in the mornings and she can meet up with us at whichever park later. She was panic-stricken at the very idea of traversing WDW by herself!

The mama has a LGMHPC hanging from her purse. A disser! A disser!
Yay - you got another sighting in! :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hi ET- Yes, ma'am... the fountain thingy is cute. It's kind of hidden off a path near the pool. Notice EE is trying to drink the water? Gross! He loves the taste of pool water!
You're right, EE did have his feet on Minnie. I think he even had his legs complete over her torso. That's how they slept all week there. They've never shared a bed before, but they sure cuddled together. It was cute!

Get this... we're going the last week of August 24 - Sept 1. Can you say hot??? We have to go at that time, cause DD starts kinder next year and my brother won't take him kids out of school for a week. What a kill joy!

8 nights and 9 days! Whoo hoo! I'd like to do 9 nights, 10 days. We'll have to see if that's a possiblity.

5 nights/6 days, was simply not enough. Especially since we spents 2 days traveling!

Have you considered a red - eye flight for the flight over, united and delta have nonstop overnight flights. We went in February last year 2 - 11 and this year 1 - 10. The weather is a lot like our weather during that time of the year. It was really nice in the days, got chilly at night though. It rained a couple of days, but MK was really nice it was practically empty. The kids were able to swim and we even hit Blizzard Beach one day. There were hardly any lines most fast pass machines weren't even on. Since we missed most of our breakfast ADR's we had to do a lot of walkins and we found them at 50sPT, Wolfgang Puck, Crystal Palace and Ohana Breakfast.

I understand about taking the kids out of school. I was lucky, my daughters teacher is a Disney Freak too, so her homework was to have a good time. My DS gave him the homework two weeks in advance so it was all completed before we left!

It should be a lot of fun. I really can't travel with my family all at once. We have to do ours in bunches and at least a couple of years apart or I could end up in the loony bin

Today is our last day in WDW. Joe and I are up at 6 am. We have to get our luggage and boarding passes by 7:30 am if we don't want to deal with it at MCO. Our flight leaves @ 1:30 and ME is picking us up at 10:45 am. This basically leaves us no time for a final park or anything... except, O'hana with Lilo & Stitch. Joe, Waldo and I take care of the luggage and get the boarding passes from the front desk. We go back to the room and get the kids ready for our 8am ADR. We're about to head out the door and Minnie is crying. She won't put on her shoes. I ask why and she says her sandals hurt. I check her feet and see she has blisters that have popped and are all raw on the back of her left heel. Poor little thing! She never once complained about her feet all week! Well, we had already packed up all the other shoes and we had nothing to put on her feet.
I remembered the gift shop had some really cute Tink flip-flops. Perfect for blistered feet! We head to the main longhouse to O'hana and I tell the others that I will run downstairs, pick up the flip-flops and meet them at the table. Well, the gift shop doesn't open until 9 am. I tell Minnie to wing it and go barefoot to breakfast. Oh well!
We sit and our server takes our drink order and then whoa! Here comes platter after platter of food. Sticky buns and cinnamon rolls and fruit. Next comes the main platter, eggs, bacon, Portuguese sausage, potato wedges, Mickey Mouse waffles, french toast, and biscuits. Everything was very good and hot, except for the eggs. What's with the weird eggs. I think they were those dehydrated eggs that they use in the Las Vegas buffets. They're gross and runny and just not right. The characters started coming out and Minnie was having a great time. She wouldn't get out of her chair because she was embarrassed of her bare feet. I noticed the characters were very interactive. Maybe because is wasn't very crowded?

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics164-1.jpg
Pluto was being silly and covering Joe's head with his napkin. Minnie was just cracking up at this. Little EE wouldn't have anything to do with them. Whenever a character came over, he'd put his head down and not make eye contact.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics155.jpg

We manage to get EE in a few shots with the characters. And just look who's finally cracking a smile... yup, WALDO! He's only smiling 'cause he knows we're going home today.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics168.jpg
They start passing out maracas to kids so they can participate in the parade around the restaurant. Of course, Minnie forgets all about her bare feet and jumps up to join before we can stop her. I hope no one noticed the little brown child with no shoes! :lmao:
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics171.jpg
Can you see her barefeet? :rolleyes1
We had to pay OOP since we had used up all out TS credits. I think it was around $120 for all 7 of us.
We left O'hana feeling sad... knowing our time at this magical place was coming to an end. Back to the *real* world... back to work... HAHA! Not me!!
We headed over to the smaller gift shop and redeemed our free pin coupon our TA gave me. I also purchase a few pins for Minnie and EE. I tried to talk Joe into heading over to the MK for a stroll along Main Street or a ride or two, since we had 2 hours before our ME time. We was being a fuddy duddy and didn't want to go. Fine! We will have about 5 snack credits and 3 table service credits to use. I go into Samoa snacks and buy 5 Mickey Head rice krispy snacks. We'll give'm to the nephews.
Minnie reminds me that she is still barefoot, so we go downstairs to the main gift shop and buy the Tink flip-flops. They're $12! $12! Ok, I'm not poor, but I am cheap. I had a hard time buying those little suckers, when I bought Minnie 2 pair for $6 at the Disney Store this summer! Oh, well... whatta gonna do?
I send Joe and EE back to the room to relax and Minnie and I head over to the Taragonga Terrace to finish off those CS credits. I buy a bunch of crap... more rice crispies, chips, fruit, candy, milk, for the flight home. I walk out of there with 2 huge bags. But, I leave with 0 snack credits, 0 TS credits, and 0 CS credits. What good customers we are!
It's close to ME time, so we head out and take some photos around the hotel.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics183.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k295/disneylandmama/WDWPics181.jpg
It's really beautiful here. I really loved staying at the Poly. We've been to Hawaii many times and sometimes I'd forget we're in WDW, not Hawaii. That's how good the theming is there.
We head outside and wait a few minutes for the ME. It shows up and we all climb on the bus. We sit up front near the driver and he puts the farewell tape on. He starts telling us about the lovebugs and how they're some kind of mutant, man made, buggy mistake. I guess they're immune to any kind pesticide and there's literally nothing they can do about them. They're gross. We're driving through huge swarms of them and they are splattering on the windsheild. The whole front of the bus is covered with they're little carcasses. Note to self: Never sit in the front row of the ME bus.
We arrive at the airport and make our way to the shopping mall! In an airport? Cool! We have a few hours before our flight, so I hit the stores. I love the CROC store! Surprisingly, they're out of Minnies size in pink or lavendar, so we pass on the CROCS. I can order them from zappos, if I want. Of course we peruse the Disney Store and the Dr. Seuss store. I wanted to get Minnie and EE the Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts, but Joe says nah! So, I drop the idea. Whatever, Joe, you stick in the mud! :p
We get in the security line, with 2 strollers, 2 toddlers, 2 backpacks, 1 purse and 1 carryon, when Minnie decides she has "to go"! Little EE is now fast asleep in his stroller, so 1 parent cannot manage all this and carry a sleeping baby. So, we pass Minnie to Walt, since Walt has only 1 small backpack. Walt takes her and they make it thru security lickety split and to the nearest restroom, which is a tram ride away!

Up next... Where's Waldo in MCO? And... Don't make the flight attendant mad!!!

Minnie's new shoes reminds me of the Hat Incident of 2003. It was a cold Dec. day when my mother took DS for a diaper change and managed to lose his winter hat along the way. DS was fighting an ear infection and the cold wind whipping off the DTD lake was not making him happy, so I was forced to buy a $25 toddler hat at World of Disney. It's a good thing that sucker still fits, that's all I'm sayin'.

*sigh* For your sanity, I'm glad the WDW portion of your trip didn't end with a Where's Waldo episode, though it rather sounds like he'll fit in one more before you get home....

Last I left off, Walt was hustling Minnie to the restroom.
Well, once you leave the security area, you have to jump on the tram thing to make it to the gates and of course, that's were the restrooms are located. As soon as the rest of us are through security, we jump on the next tram to make sure Minnie made it ok. Joe goes into the restroom and finds a smiling Minnie washing her hands. "I made it, Daddy!", she tells him.
It's close to 12pm and although we had a rather large breakfast at O'hana, we decide to eat a small(ish) lunch at Burger King. Oh yum-o! I'm not a fan of the King. Their food is questionable, albeit, not as questionable at Mickey D's. What up with the meat patties? They often have a grayish/brown tone. :confused3 Little EE is still asleep. Sorry, EE, no lunch for you. I grab him some applesauce and chicken strips, in case he gets hungry on the plane.
We finish up said small(ish) lunch and start to head for our gate, which should be boarding in 30 mins or so. We're all taking the short walk to the seating area and we find an empty isle and sit. We're all hear, except Waldo. Ok, we must have walked maybe 800 ft. and now he's missing, AGAIN! I send out the search party. We don't really have time to mess around with this. Joe goes back to Burger King and Walt hits all the restrooms. Still, no Waldo. They get back on the tram to see if he went back to the shopping area. Joe and Walt don't have their boarding passes, so they don't want to go too far back. They turn around and head back to the command post. Still, no Waldo insight. Ok, I'm thinking, I'm tired, I'm getting on the plane and if Waldo misses his plane, oh well. I wait for no one! pirate: Our planes starts boarding.... group 1.... group 2.... Now, we're group 6, so we have a few minutes until they call us. Group 3... group 4.... group 5.... We all get up and start walking over to the line, knowing we are next and whattya know.... THERE'S WALDO. He was standing over by the line the whole time!!! GRRRRRR!!!! Oh, he says, I thought you saw me walk over here. Thank heavens this trip is over!
We board the plane and Little EE wakes up. Oh no! Where's the cough syrup? I must medicate the kid..... C'mere little EE, time for some yummy, happy medicine. Yeah, I medicated him. Don't flame me, it's only for the sanity of my fellow passengers! BTW, it fails to work.... he stays awake the whole flight.... minus the last 30 mins!
We walk onto the plane and ewwwww! This plane is stinky and dirty. It seems they did not have enough time to clean it. Our seats are full of potato chip crumbs and the seat backs have trash. Where are our beautiful little bundles of blankets and pillows, like the flight to MCO? Of course, I decided not to bring the kids they're blankets, 'cause I figured, they could just use the plane blankets. Sorry, the flight attendants say, we're out of blankets and pillows. What??? Just great! I'm sure 1st class got blankets AND pillows.
We're sitting 6 of us across and Walt is sitting in the row infront of us in the window seat. Next to him is a British girl with her mother and across from them is a single woman and the British womans 2 other children, boys.
We're told to hurry up and get settled, our flight is late taking off. We leave about 10 minutes late and are up in the great blue sky, uneventfully, thank goodness!
They start the beverage service and this is when someone pisses off the flight attendant. NO.... it wasn't Waldo, but very entertaining! The British woman (further known as BW) asks the flight attendant (FA) to take her trash, that she brought on the plane with her. Hello??? Lady why didn't you dump it before you boarded? The FA tells her, she is serving right now and will come back later for trash. Well, the BW gets irate with the poor FA and starts telling her to "TAKE THE TRASH!" The FA says, "I cannot put trash on a cart that I am serving from." The BW tells the FA not to speak to her with that tone and so on and so forth.... I was great. It finally ends, when the FA takes the trash, and passes it over the cart, to the other FA and says "TRASH!" I loved that FA for keeping her cool and even smiling the "mean smile" ala Utahmama at the BW and the FA even apologized! She is good people, the FA, that is.
After that episode, I should have known this family was going to be trouble. The little girl starts turning around and peeking at Minnie through the sides of the seat and they start playing, which is fine with me. Minnie goes to the other side of the plane, with Waldo and Nini and EE comes to sit with Joe and I. Well, the little girl follows Minnie to the other side and now the 3 British kids are sitting in 2 seats next to the single woman. All three are playing with Minnie, throwing their hats over to her and she's handing them back. Now these kids are probably 7-10 yo. I tell Minne to stop, because they are making a lot of noise. She gives me the " :confused3 , it's not me" look. So, I say in a nice loud voice, "Play more quietly, please!" Well, the mother infront of me is just sitting there. She's probably comatose from having to deal with these kids, alone, for who knows how many days.
They continue this play until it happens. One of the little boys, reaches between the seats and grabs at Minnie's face a gives her a huge pinch on her cheek. I don't know if this was done in a playful way, or what. All I know is Minnie is in tears, her cheek is red and I am furious. I tell Minnie to come sit over with Joe, EE and me. She comes and Joe asks her what happened. She told him the older boy pinched her cheek. Now, Joe is furious. He says in a loud voice, "Don't play with those kids, they need to learn to keep their hands to themselves!" Now, I know the mother heard him, because the kids heard him all the way across the plane. We didn't hear another peep from those kids all the way to California. I guess the mother was thankful someone finally disciplined her kids, cause we didn't hear another peep from the mother either.
We finally land in LA and although we miss WDW, it's always good to be home. Joe calls our limo drive to let him know we've landed and we'd meet him outside of baggage claim. We grab our bags and wait for the limo. Up pulls a black limo. It looks like it just came out of the 80's. It's soooo old school! Joe and I start to laugh. We all jump in and it IS from the 80's. The inside is decked out with neon lights and a sparkly star roof AND there's a big cooler in the middle of the floor, so we all have to put our legs around it to sit. It looks like the limo we took to my prom 16 years ago! The funny has worn off and now I'm a bit piturbed. I didn't pay for a limo from yester-year. Whatever, I'm just too tired to make a big deal out of it. We head home in rush-hour traffic.
On the way home, Walt is on the phone with his friends making plans for later in the evening. It's funny, because this kid who wanted to spend all his waking time with us, now cannot wait to get away from us and with his friends. But, I'm the cool Aunt, remember. I the one who took you to your first concert to see "Garbage" and who took you to see "Blink 182" even though I had the hives! Huh, huh, huh? I guess having kids has taken me from cool to just ordinary. Oh well, I'm ok with it, I guess.
We arrive home and put all the luggage upstairs for sorting, etc. I sit on my own bed, in my own room and feel like the dream came and went so quickly. I knew this was going to happen. It's just like a wedding... you spend months and months planning and it's over before you know it.
I had the best time with my crazy, wandering, dramatic family. And yes, I'd do it all over again, for the love of Disney!

Up next, final thoughts..... and what happended to *our* castle!

My favorite part of every trip! Oh, I'm home, I'm home, I'm home!!!!

I'm glad you found Waldo before the plane took off. Isn't it just like the real Where's Waldo to find him right "in front" of you?! :rotfl:

I'm sad this trip is over, but so gald for you that you all had such a good time in my neck of the woods! :wizard:

Thought of you today DisneyLand Mama, as we were searching for our own "Waldo" who wandered off at my kids college. As we were all in the Campus Center we saw him go by the front window and a little while later he was walking in the back door! My DH, DS, DD & her BF were all running around the center & outside looking for him. They came back with no sighting as I said, "Guess we're going to play Where's Waldo!" My DS said, "Isn't it Where's Walter?" I really like the Waldo reference better and thought of you & reading the rest of your TR!

My Dad now has a new nickname, "Waldo"! Thanks for sharing it!

Yay!!! Another cameo! I'm still laughing about BW and the FA! That part rocked. Well the whole thing did! I love the fact you had to buy $12 flip flops! Last year I had to buy Huggies "on site" $$$$$ because I left a new pack at home!

I love how EE doesn't make eye-contact with the characters! My boys did that...peeking out of the corner of their eye to see if they're gone yet!

Ok, Waldo makes me nuts! Poor old fart! Poor YOU!!! :sad2:

You've done a fabulous job on your TR...I'm sad it's over! Tell your DH you gotta go again so you can write more! Ya, that'll WORK!!!

On my to-do list (before I die) I want to stay at the POLY!!!!! It looks amazing!

I love your little barefoot brown daughter! :goodvibes

I'm gonna miss this!

Should you find yourself and little Leo at DLR, just remember to call me!

I'm so sad our trip is over, too. I've been able to relive it by writing this little trippie. I guess now I better start planning next years vacation. Do you think it's too early for a pre-TR?? :rotfl2:

Now it's time to say good-bye
To all my company....
M-I-C,
see you on TR board,
K-E-Y,
why, because some are really funny!
M-O-U-S-Eeeee!

It's been almost 3 weeks since we've been home. The magic hasn't worn off, just yet. I think the 4 trips to DLR has helped.
The day after we came home, my older brother, SIL and 2 nephs came over to hear all about our trip and collect their gifts, of course. The nephs were all ears, no pun intended. They are total Disney kids, alas their parents are not. They had planned a Hawaiian vacation next year, but the kids pouted so much, DBro caved and agreed to a WDW vay cay, instead. He asked if he could go with us. I agreed and now Nini and Waldo jumped on board, as well. If you think the previous was a crazy TR, wait until next year. My DBro is ultra crazy and mix him with Waldo.... it's gonna be a wild ride. Of course, I get to really play "Tourguide Barbie". Maybe I'll get skinny enough to pull it off! Who knows!
I learned alot about my family on this vacation. I realized my parents are not as young as they look or act. This trip really did a number on them, it literally took them a week to start to feel normal. It makes me sad to realize that they are aging. I'm happy, though, that they made the trip and I've the memories forever.
For the week following our return, I kept on asking Evan (EE), "Do you remember the monorail?" His reply was always, "Uh, uh, I wememba!" Now he asks me everyday, "Mama, wememba the monowail?" It's really cute that he is trying to keep the memory.
We took the kids to DLR a few days after we got back from WDW, and Maddie (AKA: Minnie - I promised her that I would reveal her real name, eventually! She didn't like me to refer to her as, Minnie! :confused3 ) was very confuzzled. She exclaimed, "What happened to the castle?" I did mention that *our* castle is MUCH smaller than WDW. In fact, the whole park is larger than *ours*. Maddie now claims she doesn't like the *old* Disneyland, she prefers, the MK. Too bad, Maddie! Unless Daddy gets transferred to Orlando, get used to DLR, again.
Walt is now a DLR cast member. He got the job right before we left for WDW. When we got back, he told me we could have gotten a major discount on our vacation, since he was now a CM. I'm really considering becoming a DLR CM, the perks are worth it. We're also considering DVC, but DH says I have to get a job if I want DVC, so he'll know I'm serious! Is he serious? Puhleeze!
I'm in the process of planning our next years vacation. This time, for 10 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. There will be 14 of us total. I may be bald and comatose by the time we leave next year! Stay tuned!
I realized, as low as the crowds were, 6 days was simply not enough. I did go with the mentality that I knew we would not see everything on our first visit, so it didn't bother me so much. We did see alot for the amount of time we had.
I've also concluded that the DDP is the greatest thing since Diet COKE! Yeah, I said it, C-O-K-E! I'm a coke products girl, but I still love my Pepsi peeps! If they don't offer it free next year, I will pay for it. It's a great deal! Oh yeah, and I will not eat at Le Chefs! And I will eat at Le Cellier, even though the service was slow, the meal was excellent!
Ok, I'm done. I want to thank everyone for reading and posting. It was really fun writing this and I will miss doing so. At least I've more time to read all the others. Oh, and a big shout out to all the FOCKER WATCH peeps reading this!

Love,
The Disneyland_Mama Family!

I know we've got a ways to go, but I'm already looking forward to your tales of the next trip. 14 people????? You are very, very brave my friend!

Wonderful! Wonderful!! Your TR rocked! http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f258/DebIreland/rock.gif Can't wait for next year's one! How great that you're so near DL. My dream is to visit California some day - they've just recently started direct flights from an airport 1.5 hours from us to LA so when DD2 is older we might brave a straight 10 hour flight. For now, Orlando is far enough!!

I loved your TR! Great job! http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f258/DebIreland/clap.gif

Wow, what a great TR! I personally loved the comparisons with DLR. The one thing that I really noticed my first time in the MK was that it was sooooo spread out compared to d-land. D-land is just so compact and there is so much squeezed into every space. And in your comparisons of CS you forgot my Redd Rockets in DLR, yummy fussilli pasta dish thingy.

How much was your limo rides to LAX? That's a cool idea.

Have fun at MIckey's Halloween party, we are going on the 31st. (To the other disser look for us, I'll have a little old navy frog prince and a old navy lion).
