OKW boat to DtD gone?

I saw on the transportation board that the boat to DtD from OKW was not operating. Is the canal down for cleaning or low water level, or was a service cut after 9/11? I knew the POR boat was down, but hadn't heard that OKW was down, too.

I had heard about the POR boat too, but only heard hours had been altered on the OKW pontoon. I would like to know this as well since we will be down in January.

I was hoping to use the boat on our trip next month, too. Hope we have better info by then.

It will be interesting to follow up on this. The OKW boat is paid for by the resort (thru DVC dues), while the PO boat was paid for by the DD merchants. If the Sassagoula Steamship Co has been discontinued, the decision was made by the merchants that it's value was questionable to them and the resort apparently opted not to pick up the expense at this time.

The OKW boat is another issue entirely. Hopefully, someone can provide a recent status report for the OKW boat.

If it's any help we were just at OKW 10/22-11/3 and the boats were up and running then. DH and I even took the ride in the rain one night just for kicks! :D

DW and I will be at BWV and OKW the week before Xmas. Hope all the boats are running as it is our favorite way to get about.:bounce: :smooth:

We were at OKW from 10/27-11/03 and the boat was running.

We were there 10/20 - 10/29 that was a Sat. thru Mon. and the boat to DD was running on Fridays after 2:00 pm and on Sat/Sun. It was not running during the week 10/23-26. Not sure why because some have reported on these boards that OKW was running 94% of capacity.

I saw the OKW boat running on Thursday 11-8 in the early evening.
