Okay well last night I watched The Notebook with a few people and I don't know about you, but that movie makes my cry (especially at the end). It was Paula's first time seeing it so she was a complete wreck.
Anyways what movies make you bawl your eyes out?

Armageddon - EVERY time (and I've seen this 4 or 5 times) Liv says goodbye to Bruce and at the very end when the Father is reunited with his son and wife...GAAAHHHHH
The Notebook - When Ally and Noah break up...that makes me sad...but I have also watched it about 20+ times...LITERALLY...so I'm a little immune at this point :goodvibes
Noel - It just related to my situation that I was in and I bawled my eyes out for approximately 35 minutes to an hour...I don't mean cried...I mean SOBBED...well...not only did it relate...it was just a REALLY SAD movie too...you guys should see it...
I LOVE CRYING DURING MOVIES!!!
Disney movies I cry at:
Pocahontas - Last time I watched this (2 years ago?) I cried when Thomas shot Kokoum (sp?)
Hercules - Every time Phil gets his dream of them saying "That's Phil's boy" to a constellation in the sky, I cry.
Other ones too...I just can't think of them at the moment.

Mine are:
The Notebook (obviously)
House of Sand and Fog - I saw that in theatre and I bawled my eyes out..it was so depressing, everyone died
I am Sam - enough said
Hope Floats
Lilo and Stitch - the part where Stitch goes into the woods with the ugly duckling book..man I felt like an idiot for crying during that one
There this other movie, I can't remember what it is and it's driving me crazy. There's this one part of it that I refuse to watch just because it's so cruel. A group of boys follow this one kid and beat the crap out of him for no real reason, just because he's different. I can see it in my head now, the kid laying on the ground in a ball after being beaten up and crying. It's driving me crazy, I can't remember...

My Girl
Remember the Titans
Homeward Bound(?)
and a couple others but those are biggies!
My Girl always reduces me to tears. Macaulay Culkin was the cutest kid ever (KID I said, kid.) and when he dies I just bawl. The character lived such a short life, and the girl lost her best friend.

I almost cried during that. It's soo sad.
A Walk To Remember - Everyone cries during this. Nicholas Sparks is a genius.
Tru Confessions - It really makes me sad. When the dad gets mad, when he loses his way in the library, when the kids spit in his hat. The first time I saw this movie my mum wouldn't let me finish it because I was crying my eyes out.
Ladder 49 - Come on' the song at the end reduces me to tears EVERY time.

A Walk to Remember. I remember seeing for the first time in the theatre, and bawling my eyes out when she told him she had luekimia. I still cry every time.
Pearl Harbor. Watching Ben Affleck cry over a dead Josh Hartnett gets me every time... Especially the 'You're gonna be a daddy!' 'No, you are' line.
Rent. Who doesn't cry during the end of Without You into I'll Cover You (reprise)? I wasn't bawling as much though in the movie then I was seeing it on broadway live, but I still cry every time no matter what.

I bet it does "rock your face" LOL :rotfl:
I like Tim Burton's films...except his animated ones. I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas and didn't care for it too much lol. I didn't watch The Corpse Bride either...I have no interest.
One that I really want to see but haven't yet is Edward Scissorhands. I have GOT to see that one.
Did you know that Johnny Depp has agreed to do any Tim Burton film? Those two are tight friends, lol.

I'll cry at anything if I'm in the right mood. I've been brought to tears by movie previews, lol.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Rugrats in Paris. I bawled like a little baby, and this was two months ago! hahah

"House of Sand and Fog - I saw that in theatre and I bawled my eyes out..it was so depressing, everyone died"
This is the WORST bawling session I have EVER EVER had for a movie. I saw it at home as a rental, had to stop partway through because I was so heartwrenched by the storyline. By the time we reached the end, 48 hours later, I was CHOKING SOBS. Like...like someone I knew had died. Ohhhhh.
I loved that movie.
Old movie: "On the Beach" with Cary Grant, and a smaller role with Fred Astaire. It's a post-nuclear war movie made in the 1960's, black and white, where people in Australia are waiting for the nuclear fallout from America to finally hit the Southern Hemisphere. AMAZING movie, especially for the time period.
An Affair to Remember (1957). EVERY time. I am blessed with a husband who also lists this movie among one of his favorite all time movies. We watch it almost every time Tivo records it, and we OWN it.
Sense and Sensibility. "He's getting down on one knee!" Oh it pushes me over the edge every time!
Anything with true love makes me cry, really. Not contrived love, like so many scripts subscribe to any more to rush through the plot. But developed characters and believable love and joy and friendship. Yep. I'm a sucka.

Movies, like books, sometimes are so well written and presented that the characters become our "friends"...we gain empathy for these characters and we end up living the life with them.
In any good film or book, any good person will connect and if the storyline is sad in any way...we are naturally forced to feel as we would had the film or book been in our actual lives.
If we can't "feel" what we are watching or reading, the piece of work will be thought of as poorly written or put together...it becomes one of our least favorites.
That is also why some people say the reason their favorite movie or book is their favorite is because they can relate to it. Is it that their lives really CAN relate or has the story just pulled the person in so far, that the person ultimate lives in that story?
A favorite movie of mine is "What Dreams May Come", "Big Fish" and "Armegeddon". Both because I start to feel empathy for the main characters...during the movies I learn SO much about them that it's nearly impossible not to feel that.
My favorite book is "The Catcher in the Rye" and yes, it made me cry. I learn SO much about the main character that by the time the end rolled around...I could almost feel exactly what Holden Caufield (character) was feeling. Because the emotion and impact was so strong, it will take a lot for me to find a book that is my new favorite.
It isn't just for tears...we are often times apt to feel scared for the characters, or feel happy for the characters. During a scary movie, have you ever felt your heart beat faster when the main character is approching something terrible or dangerous but he/she doesn't know it...but you do?
If you ever feel any kind of emotion during a movie or while reading a book...you can assume the writers are amazing.

Same here. I have never cried so much. I hated that movie, I had no sympathy for Conolly's character because she brought it on herself and caused it all to happen..
I always cry at the part where Ally loses her memory again and Noah starts to cry.
That's the part that gets me every time..
Old movies make me shed a tear too. I cried during Meet Me in St. Louis when Judy Garland sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Chrismas. I love that song and the context of what it was being sung about made it even more emotional..
I cried while reading a book once..it was Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen. I cried when the girl talks about her past and how she was made fun of, I can't read that one part. Also it was tears of happiness at the end when she finally stood up to the girl who has tormented her her entire life..

I've seen the first one, when she's little and Mr. Forgethisname and Mrs.Forgethername don't want her. I've seen it in french & english and I don't really find it interesting. But when you grow up around this story, you know it a bit too well to care. I only live about an hour away from the town that has the play.
Girls, I am a hardcore tough dude, but the movie I almost cried in was Rugrats 2, Rugrats In Paris. When Chuckie was looking out the window of the airplane with that song playing... about - I Want A Mom -. talk about sad..
I cried during that too. I really, really shouldn't watch that movie. It gets to me everytime, and I'm always watching it with my friends. I really do try not to bawl in front of my friends unless I've got a good reason, other than a movie.
I cried during the first movie, when Tommy isn't getting any attention, and his parents don't put him to bed so he's singing this really sad song. ='(
Only a few movies are tear-jerkers for me, and even then, I don't really cry. I just get all... choked up.
Finding Neverland and Prince of Egypt are the two that first come to mind.
Batman Begins... kinda. When Bruce's parents are shot, and he is alone by their bodies... that really pulls on my heart strings.

It's so weird; I haven't been crying much at anything lately. I hate it! I liked when movies and books could affect me so much. Sometimes I cry but not nearly so much as I used to. At the risk of sounding like an obvious boring person, I cried the last time I saw Narnia when Aslan died (I didn't cry any of the 3 times previous for some odd reason). I also cried during Jet Li's Fearless. I can't remember anything else really recent, but I know there's been at least 3 more within the last month or so. I'm just soooo sensitive.
EDIT: Oh, yes. I bawled like a little baby when I heard the Steve Irwin tribute on the Australia Zoo website and read some of the fan tributes on AnimalPlanet.com. I didn't get to see the memorial, but I'm certain I would have been sobbing my eyes out. :(
