Is it possible to get 8 in a minivan with 8 pieces of luggage. 2 adults and 6 teenagers. You know how girls pack for vacation. Figure on 8 good size pieces of luggage.
Would it be cheaper for a car service?

A minivan only seats seven people, so you'll have to either rent two cars or get one of the larger passenger vans.

Some minivans seat 8 (Pontiac Montana and like GM vehicles), however, there's no way you'd get the luggage in too I'd think ... you might want to think about just renting two full size vehicles instead or getting a van service.

WE HAD 8 ON OUR LAST TRIP IN OUR VAN. 6 KIDS AND 5 WERE TEENAGE
GIRLS. WE BOUGHT A CARRIER TO GO ON TOP. WITH TEENAGE GIRLS
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ALL LUGGAGE IN THE VAN. IF EVERYONE USES
DUFFLE TYPE BAGS AND ONLY BRING ONE EACH THEY WILL FIT BEHIND THE
LAST SEAT BUT THEN AGAIN WERE TALKING GIRLS.

You aren't guaranteed a model when you rserve a rental, so you do'nt know if you'd have seating for eight.

I think 8 in ANY minivan with luggage is probably a safety hazard, and very uncomfortable at that.

My guess is that the rental on two mid-sized would be the same as one minivan, and it would give a lot more room.

What about a 15-passenger van? Should be enough room for the kids and their stuff. They can be a handful to drive, though. I used to drive one in Houston traffic in a van pool.

We rented a full-size SUV from Budget last year for 8 days for around $600. We got a GMC Yukon XL that seats 8, with plenty of room for luggage. Though, some of our 12 pieces of luggage did have to go in the back seat! LOL, there were 4 of us!

According to Budget's website, the only SUV they have that will seat more than 7 passengers is the Ford Expedition, which is listed as sitting 6 standard and 9 maximum. It lists luggage capacity as 3 medium and 4 large suitcases. Here's a link to Budget's vehicle choices. (http://www.budget.com/cars/domestic/sport.html) Their only van that seats more than 7 is listed as a 15 passenger van. (http://www.budget.com/cars/domestic/vans.html)

Alamo has an 8 passenger Chevy Astro (http://www.alamo.com/Fleet/) listed on their website, but their Montaro or similar vehicle is only listed as 7 passengers.
