OK the excitement is killing me! 5 days until we are otta here! I thought now would be a good time to start my pre-trip report.
The luntic that I am, this first ever family Disney trip all started in the depths of my mind in the middle of April. I constantly surf the net and look at great vacation spots dreaming of the day I can get away. Low and behold DISNEY WITH FREE DINING!!!! :earseek:
I yell to hubby while my eyes pop out of my head reading the details, "Honey! We Are Going To Disney World!" Now, hubby already knows the lunatic that I am when it comes to vacationing. There is not much to dicuss when I get my mind set on it. So his response, "OK, whatever you want." On that fateful day I began to plan.
Our Cast :dance3:
DH: Jim, will be 31 when we arrive in the world. Great guy! Will do anything for his family. His passion is his volunteer job as a firefighter. :firefight He tolerates my Disney obsession sometimes picks on me for it. He thinks I am cute when I talk about it as well.
Me: Jen, 30, the dear wife and mother who put this great expectation trip together. Oh, and don't forget the lunatic I am when it comes to vacationing.
DS: Jimmy, 6, Doesn't grasp the idea of the magical world of Disney. All cares about is meeting the power rangers and if our hotel pool has a cool slide.
Yes, it's just the three of us. Me at the wheel of the trip planning while DH and DS are locked in the trunk! :drive: I'm not kidding. This trip will be planned my way or it's the highway. No one is allowed to give their input. I told you I was a lunatic!

So here I am planning my trip and everything is going as planned. I begin to do all the research I need, including stalking the DisBoards, for any little tip I can get.
I start talking the trip up to DS who over came his fear of roller costers this summer. I begin to tell him all about the different rides at WDW and I start talking about the new one in AK. The hyped up new ride called Expedition Everest.
DS- "Cool, what's it like?"
Me- "Well, it has no loops and it seems to have some drops. I hear there is a Yeti!"
DS- "What's a Yeti?"
Me-"It's like the snow monster on Scooby Doo, I think?"
DS-"NO WAY, I am not riding that! It's too scarey for me!"
Me-"WHAT? You love roller costers! Please ride it for me!!! If you don't ride it then Daddy and I will have to ride it separtley by ourselves. Please do this for us!"
DS-"What does the Yeti look like?"
Me-"I don't know, but if I find a picture of him and show you what he looks like will you ride it?"
DS-"Sure!"
I begin to search the net, so my dreams of riding EE don't whither away. Finally I find a picture. Oh, goodness he does look kind of scary. Do I really show this to him. I have to show him or I might not be able to go on the ride with my family togther and I have it already planned that we stay together!
I call Jimmy into the room and have him look at the computer screen. He begins to panic. "Forget it! No Way! I am not riding this ride!!!" What do I do? :furious: He starts crying and putting a guilt trip on me for begging him to ride it. I finally calm him down and put him to bed.
I lay in bed an put a lot of thought into it. It's not the end of the universe because DS does not want to ride this ride. I will ruin my whole trip if I continue to push him. I figure I can always wait and ride it when we come back in a couple of years or what the heck do a solo ride. There is nothing wrong with that right? :confused3
DH gets home late that night. I tell him that there will absolutley be no discussing about EE in this house again. I do not want to hear anything about it. I don't wish to get DS in a frenzey dreading going to the world. This is not what I want this trip to turn into.
It has been a month since the EE ban and I can say DS is showing excitement about the upcoming trip. Are we going to ride it? I don't know I guess you will have to wait and read the post trip report when we get back. :)
Coming Up....

Hope to here from you when you get back. I just got some green mickey's at Home Depot. Then I thought, where else can you go in a store and put paint samples in our purse. Is it stealing? What did you do with your "green Mickey's" and did your son ride EE.

Less than 24 hours! :hourglass We are going to be on a plane heading to pure sunshine! I must tell you all that our actual Disney holiday has a slight detour. We will be making our first stop in Miami. You heard it right, I have to spend 3 days on the warm sun filled beaches of Miami! :beach: My hubby is a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins. I thought we would plan some time to attend a game. On Sunday we will be at the Dolphins vs Titans game and right after we start our Disney extravaganza.
I failed to mention that Sunday is hubby's birthday. Yes, you guessed it, I have a few surprises instore. We will be arriving late to our final desitnation, the Wilderness Lodge. I thought well, we are getting in so late why don't we have dinner at Whispery Canyon Cafe. Hee Hee! If you hear a loud obnoxious Happy Birthday singing coming from WCC at around 9:30pm that will be the staff seranading my hubby. I have it all planned. They are going to bring a cake out to him and hopefully succeed in my goal of turning him red. I also will be presenting him with his gift. A card annoucing his pressence will be required at the Richard Petty's Driving Experience the very next morning. I can't wait to write about his reaction when I get back!
Holy Moly I have 23 1/2 hours to departure and I haven't even finished packing yet. I guess I need to get moving, but then I need to finish attaching my mickey heads. Oh, yes I did! I went to home depot and shamelessly swiped mickey heads and put them in my purse. Thanks to the disboards I am officially a theif! :thumbsup2 When I got home with them I soaked them in hot water and peeled the backing away from the heads. When they dried out I glued two of them together. I took my heads to Staples and had them laminated into luggage tags. I have them attached to all of my luggage and I have a few left for hubby and ds to were on their lanyards like me. They are absolutely refusing to were them! They think I am a nut. Hubby is even calling me a Disney Dinger! Now, thats not right! :)
You wait, I will get my way! Hubby and ds will wear their mickey heads with honor! They have no choice!
I really must be going , but I will be writing when I reture on the 30th. I will figure out how to post pics and give you the best trip report I can write!
