They say its mechanical trouble but all flights out of NYC and bridges are closed. I was going to book tickets to Disney today but booking flights were suspended by travel agent said... Anyone live near there have a better read on whats happening> Is this going to affect your holiday plans

Local fox station is reporting that the FBI says it looks like an explosion on the plane, no one is saying bomb, though. Crashed 2 minutes after take off from JFK Airport.

246 passengers, 9 crew members, at least six buildings on fire in Rockaway Beach.

Pilot reported no trouble or mayday, Federal gov. saying no threats received.

All bridges and tunnels into Manhattan closed, Empire State Building evacuated.
