Raids: A Word Of Caution To All VMK'ers

It has come to my attention that Habbo Hotel, VMK's "older brother" game, has recently been victim of a disrespectful raid.
HH and VMK are similar since they were both developed by Sulake. On the 11th, thousands of people logged on to the game.
All of them were wearing suits, an afro, and had dark colored skin.
They blocked all the room entrances, shouted vulgarity, and treated all with disrespect.
We are talking over 3,000 of these "raiders".

I am also a member of HH, so I unluckily had to deal with these stupid raids. One thing was said that troubled me a lot.
One of the raiders had said, "When we hitting up VMK?'


I am very worried about this, so I want to ask all of you to be extra careful this month. It may have been just a single person just saying that but I don't think there is room for chances.
If you hear the slightest mention of a raid, REPORT THE PERSON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
VMK has been quite peaceful up to this point, so I am afraid these people may try to ruin the game for all.

Luckily, VMK has a very good defense to raids. Multiple public rooms.

I don't think they would be able to pull it off but I want you all to be extra careful.

Yes they are. I have seen it before in Habbo Hotel before, and it's very scary. They report other players for racism, although they're being the racist.

Yeah...I don't like Habbo. Mostly because you have to spend real money to get most everything. What's the fun in that? Plus, it felt like if I didn't buy stuff, there was nothing much to do.

Reasons why I hate Habbo Hotel:
1. You can change gender (You don't know if you're REALLY talking to a boy or girl!)
2. Language (Not to offend anyone, but IMHO HH has worse language then Runescape, again No offense to the people who play it.)
3. Blocking Blocking stuff is a BIG issue in HH, I usually go to the pool bc it's fun, people block them and say something bad is in there. (Which some people may know what that word is)
4. People get around the unacceptable words Like: s.o.m.e.t.h.i.n.g (Just a Example)
5. (No offense for the people who play it) But most of the Habbo's are either 20 year old guys looking for a younger girl. They ask for my pass, and ask for my e-mail address etc.
Those are the reasons why I quit (There is also another reason, someone was messaging me bad messages! Some people may know this bc I told them it in DIS Chat)

Yep. I looked at it not too long after I found VMK and found out that the same company created both.
As soon as I seen that you have to pay money to get credits to do anything, I closed the window and didn't even bother to join.

Plus, from what I could tell, all the characters look like blocks. So the graphics didn't really impress me.

Bottom line is that Habbo doesn't have a set dictionary, and only "bleep" out certain words. VMK has a set dictionary, and only allows some words to be said.

For example..
You can say "p1r@t3" on Habbo, but not VMK
For VMK, you have to say "pirate"

If it makes no sense to you, let me know and I'll try to explain better.

Also, VMK is ran partly by DISNEY. Habbo has been around since god knows when, VMK is new. Another reason, is that VMK bans computers during bans, not just characters and IPs. So if people come in and try to do a "raid" of somesort, it won't work. Don't worry.

I play that game occasionaly, I saw those blockers, the Hotel was up to about 10,000 players! The blocked everything and anything they could get to. God I hope it doesnt happen to VMK. It was terrible.

What I couldn't believe. Guess what I found today? A Habbo Hotel Bookmark!! :scared1: Well my friend found it during Language Arts. I kept on saying "omg omg omg omg omg" while she was "what?" I told her "This is one of the worst on-line games ever! The language is unbelieveable!" :sad2:

Yeah, VMK is pretty raid-proof, but there are...exceptions. If enough people get into a room at a time, it can get blocked off, both public and private rooms. That's right, PRIVATE rooms.

A raid like this can also cause VMK to crash. Or, if things really get out of hand, the VMK staff will reset the server. We just hope it doesn't happen.

On the other hand, I'll borrow from Habbo now. You know that recently there was a staff-based "war" going on which involved the players of Habbo to help the staff member of their choice. Now that would be cool. Think of this:

It can only affect private rooms to a small extent. People can always make their rooms for friends only. And they can always boot people from their room. :)

Most of my mules are boys. They get more clothes to start out with than girls get. Which means more credits for the boys.

I also created a main boy account not too long after I started when I was hearing about boys only costumes. I wanted to make sure that I could have them as well as the girls only costumes. ;)

wow, thats terrible. i have heard some awful stuff about habbo hotel and wouldn't even consider joining, judging from the bad things said about it. i'm happy with vmk right now and if people even try to start a 'raid' there, there'll always be ways to prevent or stop those things from happening; i'm sure. :grouphug:

Step 1: Create characters with names starting with RRRT_ to signal that we are Raid Response

Step 2: Make a uniform: say, a HSM costume with a Tron helmet on.

Step 3: Just watch out for weird happenings. Something along the lines of several instances of a public room getting clogged up, but the rest are virtually empty.

Step 4: If a raid is detected, get into that room and use magic spells until the raiders disconnect from a crash, as well as report it to the VMK staff.

If we could do something along the lines of that, it would be our gift to VMKer's worldwide. And our way of saying "this is our game and you're not going to poison it!"

Now, who's with me?

To be honest...I kinda find that Habbo raid sorta funny. But just because they were all wearing afros...its awfull that people would want to do that in a game.

Anyways, I doubt something like this would happen with VMK. I don't know much about Habbo Hotel (I was thinking of joining once...but decided not to), but I think the VMK staff would be on top of it right away (or I would hope so!). If worse came to worse...they could shut down the server for the rest of the day, couldn't they?

Don't think I am trying to get rid of vmk or something but...
I am a girl in vmk because my sister started our account together, and I don't want to trade everything over because we have best game and some rare rooms. She almost never plays vmk anymore, but yeah. I love vmk, best game ( tied with toontown ) ever. I can't believe this happened in hh, my sister tried it once, found out you had to pay money, and stopped. VMK is fun because you don't usually have to worry about people blocking rooms and such because there are many instances for each place. VMK seems safer because of the language set, and is very helpful to have. Unfortunately, people use dictionairy dances REALLY often, and it gets on my nerves. I really wish vmk were able to ban all those scammers who we would rather have out of the game... Kind of off topic, but I think staff should make more games, they already have about 20 hats, and 9 magic, only 5 games, including tomorrowland which you can not play with others... anyway
VMK seems more people friendly than habbo hotel, and it is a great place. Even staff talk about safety and how important it is to be safe, especially because you don't know who you're talking to. I really hope this does not happen to vmk, It would be great if we had the game safe, even with 4000 players. Sorry for the long post!

ahem! vmkers USA-wide? check my location buddy! and there are alot of other ppl who live in different countries and play vmk, especially austrailia, canada and england. LOL anyways.. i don't think its even possible for vmk to have a raid happen bc there is always the ignore button and many different private and public rooms. Also there's always the help button :)

Well, VMK has blocking raid proof rooms in all of Frontierland, and every room in Tommorowland except for the Hub.

Since VMK can have up to 15 people in a room...

If they try to get 15 "raiders" in there to block, there is really no point... I would not worry. VMK is really "block safe". :rotfl2:

I have played habbo hotel before and ppl were cussing and ppl were saying there names to each other and one guy asked for my name so i said the character's name and he said no my real name and told me his name so i just walked away. And some guy on my friends list (actually it was my sisters account) asked me to come over so i searched his room and came and there were a few ppl in there. I lay in a bed in his room and he came and lay next to me and asked if i wanted to. . well you know the rest. And i hate that you have to pay for credits. My sister and her friend always ordered coins and they thought they were free but my mom got a call from the site charging her 48 dollars and she asked me about the game me and my other sister played and i told her about vmk and blamed my sister (the one who plays habbo) saying that she plays habbo so my sister and her friend got in trouble and my sister had to give my mom the 48 dollars. I told her several times before that she had to pay but she didnt listen. I dont play HH anymore ever since I discovered VMK.
Why VMK is better then HH:
-The credits are free
-Better graphics
-Much safer
-You can know where your friends are and follow them without having to search their room
-Theres a lot more places
-The rooms are not just boxes floating in outer space

Since VMK has added a pool, now all they have to add is pets and restaurants to make the much better vmk complete although i enjoy it as it is.

Before when I played it, most of the rooms were had the title "love" in it with 2 people and the room closed. That's just sad, most of the rooms having 2 people in it. :sad2:
