I understand that ages 3-9 must order off the children's menu which comes with a desert and a drink but are they also allowed an appetizer? This is reguarding a TS meal with the DP.
I called Disney and the gal didn't know!?!?!? She said, "Gosh, I'm not sure, I wouldn't think so." I asked her to please check into it and I waited a bit and she came back and said she couldn't find anything on it but she really didn't think it would be included?!?!?!?
Does someone else know for sure?
Thanks,
Karla

I think it depends on the restaurant - I've lookeed at the menus for some of the places we'll be going, and some include appetizers on the children's menu (Sci Fi Dine-In for one, if I remember correctly) while others do not.
That being said, I am reading a print-out from the official Disney site re: the Dining Plan - "Lunch and Dinner are to include an Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert, OR One (1) full buffet."
It makes no further distinction between what kids can get vs. what adults can get, except the thing about "Guests ages 3-9 must order from the children's menu where available." But again, I do know there are places at WDW that offer "kids" appetizers.

Here are a couple of examples I just pulled off AllEarsNet...
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_lttk.htm Liberty Tree Tavern Kid's lunch menu; no real app. per se, but does offer a fruit plate.
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_sflk.htm Here's Sci Fi; they DO offer kids appetizers.
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_crk.htm Coral Reef at Epcot; no kid apps.
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_ttsk.htm And Tony's Town Square in MK; full kid's app. menu!!

I think alot of things on the DDP are left up to the individual restaurant. Some allow extras added on w/no charge. Some allow kids to get something off the adults menu. But one thing always be nice and you may get your way.

It's up to each restaurant.
Coral Reef lets the kids order off of the adult appitizer menu for instance, but Alfredo's doesn't. Some restaurants have kids appitizers (si-fi).
Plenty of food though, our kids never went away hungry. I always shared whatever I got, when they didn't get one, so they would have something to munch on. I always had too much food anyway.

Thanks everyone! I can't beleive I go in 14 days! Panic is starting to set in.
My main concern on the meals is not so much that we have enough food but that we don't waste it or make ourselves so full that we're ill! I lost 96 pounds over the last 2 years so I could fit in a plane and enjoy this trip. There is no way I am allowing myself to WAY OVER INDULGE!!!!
I've gone from 257 to 161! :woohoo:

I would suggest asking on the restaurant board in the dining plan sub board. They will be able to help you with your questions.

I think you will find that you'll have plenty of appetizers to share with your little ones 3-9. When we go out as a family of four we usually just share one appetizer. It was fun to order four different ones on the DP but way too much food! Have a fun trip!
