Can anyone tell me if DING through Southwest is worth downloading? Is this system annoying and can you really find good deal? I know if you hit Southwest and plan early you can find some pretty good rates on there website in general.....
If anyone can tell if it is worth it, I am willing to download.
Thanks Disers! :thumbsup2

It's definitely worth it if you travel more than once a year. If you only book one trip per year it wouldn't be worth it, but if you go a few times it can give you some good information.

Oh it's worth it alright.
Between getting $44 or $59 rates it save me a tone of money to fly my family to Orlando, FL.

Do you book your trips online? If so, how do you cancel...online/phone?? I book DING fares all the time, but usually have an already purchased ticket that I just let go into "unused SWA funds" for future use. I'd like to know how to cancel the original reservation without penalty and book the DING fare.

Well we usually only fly once a year, but have used the DING, just not as much as we thought. We have been tempted to jump over tables on occasion when we hear the DING, like they do in the commercial, to race to the pc but that only does damage to our furniture. It's not as much fun as it looked on tv. :rotfl:

Well my flight down for Oct was a fun fare at $442 total for the 3 of us.Already have $173 for the 3 coming back.
I just got a DING and it's now $193 for the 3 of us now
So that gives me $249 to spend on our June trip or another long weekend AP trip.

Personally, I think that Ding is a pain and I took it off of my pc. I just keep an eye on their website for any changes. Usually when I buy it's non-refundable and there are no changes to be made... I do get their e-newsletter which updates me on new sales. :surfweb:

Thanks Disers for all the responses. I guess my next question is....
do they have 2007 rates for Ding? I know the web is only accepting till January 2007. Should I download the DING now or wait till the first of the year? Also, do you have to download DING every start of the year?

I vote a "yes" for DING ! Cannot tell you how much I've saved with them using DING this year alone. Had $79 each way to FL. Got a DING about 3 weeks ago and it dropped to $39 each way ! I had a similar situation where I was able to save $375 for our family of 5 with a July DING as well.
The DING sales seem to pop up 3-6 weeks prior to your date of flying. So not sure if you'd want to download it now. And you only need to download it once.

I would go ahead and DWLD it now . You only have to do it once and it's good unless something esle happens ( it gets corrupt).
This way you will get use to checking it and see whats going on.
It allows up to 10 cities to track .So I did the one closest to me then did most of the places I travel most offend to as well as Tampa as if it's cheap enough I will fly there and drive up.
