Those are great! Can you teach me? Is it something that Photoshop Elements is capable of? I especially like the look of the first one, but they are all terrific!

Yes, I did it on Elements. I followed a tutorial I found online.

Here are two using individual princesses and a "name." I can try doing a specific name and/or princess. When I have more time, I will try to find a good background that has all the princesses.

I would be happy to. Do you have a specific picture in mind? I've never been there, so I don't know what feature you want showing in the letters.

Here's one for Matthew:

As you can see from the next design, I think shorter names do work better. I don't know if he goes by Matt, but here's one anyway.

Oh Jennifer! I spent a good part of last night searching for the right picture! The effect works best if the faces are all lined up across the page. You won't believe how many pictures there are with the princesses NOT lined up across the page, and the pictures that I did find were not big enough.

If anyone has a large picture of all the princesses lined up with their faces at about the same level, please please PM me! I would love to make more names with all the princesses.

I did make one after all, but I am not happy with the quality of the picture. I will keep working on this, and PM you with the image when I find the right background. I wish it had turned out better!! ( I'm a bit of a perfectionist  )

It's so funny that you should ask me this question because I was wondering the very same thing (and may even pay $ for the answer). Though it looks like I've changed the colour on some of the designs, I ,in fact, didn't. I think it only looks that way based on the background I used.

If anyone knows the answer to how to change the colours on the outer glow, please enlighten us. It seems like such a simple thing to do, but for some reason I haven't figured it out either.

I hope so, too! Your designs (as always) are soooo good! Nursery school starts tomorrow (I did orientations today). Once we get going, I hope to find a little extra time to play. I haven't designed since I came back from WDW.

I was hoping that you knew a secret about changing the outer glow, but I guess not. It does look different with the different colored backgrounds.

Well I think I figured it out (well I actually I found a spot online to teach me). Apparently it isn't such an easy thing to do (like just changing the palette colour).

You actually have to create a secondary layer and colour that in then use Gaussian Blur and put your final copy as an overlay.

Here is a version I did with your "wordmark" technique of my daughter's name (which actually means 'From the fairy fort') and I exaggerated the background colour for effect.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/LFITQ/Photoshop%20work/Shaelynword.jpg

Now for the link to instructions I found online ...

Click Here (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9773&highlight=colored+shadow)

Thanks for showing us your technique! Gonna make some door magnets with that technique for our upcoming Disney Cruise in November!

As for your Princess dilemma - what about simply getting individual pictures of the Princesses and putting them in a line on a pink background and going from there?

Excellent!! Thanks for sharing the secret. I wish it was an easier solution! I'll have to read up on the tutorial after work tonight.

As for the princess idea, that's exactly what I did to make the original Disney Faces design I posted. It may be the only way to get an appropriate picture that will work with this type of design. As you've probably experienced already, not every picture and every word works for this type of design!! The hardest part will be finding large clipart of the princesses' faces. It's a project I want to do very soon (so many things on my mental list of things to do)!

By the way , the design looks absolutely wonderful!!! I would love to see more!!

Gotta got to work now! I'll be around later tonight :)

Maria these are great! Can I ask where you are finding your backgrounds from? They are so bright and clear.

I'm using photoshop rather than elements and there is a function called "stroke" which allows you to border the text in different colours and different thickness of border - it's on my layers menu. I'm pretty sure it's available in elements but don't know where - try looking it up on the help menu :)

The font I use for these designs is called Showcard Gothic, but I think any chunky font should work.

Hi Rosiejo:

Most of my designs are created with Disney wallpapers from several of their websites. I usually just do an image search and limit the search to large images only. The ones I create from "scratch" are with a couple of sites that have very large, clear clipart. I don't like using clipart that isn't crystal clear.

Thanks for the tip on bordering text. I'll have to fool around with it when I have some time. I checked out your link to your autograph pages . . . FABULOUS!!!!

It really is hard to line up the picture and the words, and not all words are ideal for this type of design!! But, I guess the challenge is half the fun!

Exactly!! They have sticker paper that is meant for the printer. Print, peel, and stick. I made a bunch for my kids with all their favourite designs. In fact, I even made magnets the same way, using magnet paper made for the printer. I found my sticker paper and magnet paper at our local STAPLES. I would think most large stationery stores would carry these. (It sure beats the heck out of all that ironing!!!! :thumbsup2 )

You might find photoshop a little pricey - try photoimpact or adobe elements - these are much more affordable programmes and should have all you need to design shirts :thumbsup2

Photo Impact does the lettering - I posted a link to a tutorial on the board for someone just yesterday. Here's a link to a free trial version for you to have a look at: http://www.ulead.com/pi/trial.htm

Adobe Elements is a cut down version of photoshop - photoshop is full of bells and whistles for professional designers - elements has the tools needed for photo editing and the ones you need for tshirt designs too without all of the complicated bits.

A lot of people here use Impact - and it's very reasonably priced and easy to use - I started out with it - but went to photoshop once I learned how to use it for my job.

Personally I'd go with Impact :)

It costs about £45 from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ulead-PhotoImpact-11/dp/B000BKBHQA/sr=8-1/qid=1159095889/ref=pd_ka_1/202-2548244-8751013?ie=UTF8&s=software

You might even get away with their new smaller version of the software which is under a tenner!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/GSP-ULEAD-PhotoImpact-XL-SE/dp/B0009QVE46/sr=8-3/qid=1159095889/ref=sr_1_3/202-2548244-8751013?ie=UTF8&s=software

Those are so COOL!!!! Thank You so much!!! I know my girls will love them! The black background on Emma's is perfect. She's my tomboy and loves black and orange and really loves Tigger. I think it will look awesome on an orange T. Lizzy is 7 but still really loves Pooh. She made such a fuss over him at 1900 Park Fare on our last trip that he went and found a paper naptkin and wrote "To Lizzy, Love Pooh" on it for her. I think she sort of "knows" he isn't real but she isn't ready to give it up yet and I'm very happy that she's still believes. She is going to flip when she sees this design! I will definately post photos of finished T's.

Your designs are tiggerific!!!!! I've already saved a couple for our shirts, but if you have time, would you be able to do the following?

Pirates with the word PIRATES
Tigger with the word TIGGER
Pluto with the word PLUTO
Mickey with the word MICKEY
Goofy with the word GOOFY

Thanks so much!!!

Your link to the tutorial on how to make these designs was very helpful! Do you happen to have a link for how to get the "glow" around the letters??? I can't seem to figure it out!
Thanks! And keep up the fabulous work! :thumbsup2

The glow is easy . . . select what you want the glow around first. Then, on the right side of the screen, under Styles and Effects, select "Layer Styles." Then choose "Outer Glows" from the menu. There are several to choose from there. Hope that helps!

I just stopped to check in, since we are planning our 2007 Nov. trip and love all of Cruiser1969's designs. :thumbsup2 And have already started my new shirt file. :cool1:

I have a question can the MVMCP for 2007 be made with a white background. I think the designs would really pop on a white shirt.

and if I am not being to bold I would love some name designs for my family
Janell - Minnie
Jeff - Donald
Jacob - Goofy
Jeremy - Pluto
Jedd - Mickey

Janell is the mom and Jeff is the Dad

Thanky you!!!

I have been admiring these wonderful designs and being my trip is getting really, really close I need to start thinking about the shirts we will wear while at Disney. You are very talented also and very considerate to do this for everyone! ..... ( We are leaving Oct. 28th, I need to get moving with making some shirts) Still don't really know how to make them but one step at a time right? :thumbsup2

(we were suppose to go last year at this time but a young lady named Hurricane Katrina changed all of that, besides taking away our whole house)

Can I please ask you to make a design for me in the name Alaina. If you think Lanie looks better, that is fine. I would like princesses and one with the incredibles please.. Also maybe MOM like the dad is in the incredibles.

I should be saving these pictures by right clicking on them right? Then I will print off of my printer on the correct paper that I will buy from Wal-mart or a craft store for shirts. I am assuming that the paper pack will tell me which way to put the paper in the printer. Then just iron on after prewashing the shirt. Is this correct??? Thanks for all the wonderful advice. I am trying to plan too much at the last minute now along with everything else.

Thanks again,
Kelly :cool1:

There are 2 kinds of paper-one for light colored shirts where you need to print mirror image and one for dark colored shirts where you don't print mirror image. The dark color transfers tend to be more vibrant and can be used on any color shirt (even white). You can purchase the sheets at Wal-mart, craft store or Staples.

Wash shirt and dry without fabric softner.

You can't just use an ironing board to do the transfer. The mesh holes in the iron board allow too much heat to escape. I've had good luck using my flat stove top and using a wooden cutting board on my ironing board. The directions tell you to use a wooden table but I've heard of folks damaging the finish of their table.

Have a great trip!!!

Thanks so much. I am glad you said that about the ironing board, I would have never thought about that. I have a wooden table that I would not have to worry about the finish. I am guessing that I could use that. We can't wait to go! Thanks again,

Maria,
About a week ago you made a Star Wars themed Anthony for me & I have now created a monster! DS LOVED IT!!!! We printed them up & he now has it on all of his school folders. (I haven't gotten around to getting the transfer paper yet!)

Would it be possible to get a Mickey themed Amanda? (DD is a little jealous that DS got one & she didn't)

Also, are you able to do these with any of the resorts? Hmmm, for instance the Polynesian? :goodvibes

I have photoshop but am not familiar with it's many features. Do you have instructions on how to do any of this?

What wonderful work! I am so totally uncreative that this just amazes me!

I have a request, pretty please! :wave2:

Could you do these?
Kylah: either Belle or Ariel
Clara: Tinkerbell or Cinderella
Carter: in your "different" pirates theme or any Pirates

Then could you do?
Smith Family Vacation 2006: all in different color mickey ears (havent seen this but is it possible?) If not, anything Mickey would be great!

Thank you so much!

Maria,

I hate to add another request, im sure all of the designing is getting tireing! If you have a chance, could you make a "Lilo" from Lilo and Stich one, that says Casey. Also, if possible, could you make the background white (the part behind the letters) because I plan to put it on a white shirt.

Thanks so much, in advance :)

If possible, could you make:
Name - Character
Ken - Mickey
Tracy - Minnie
Ryan - Stitch
Steph - Tinkerbell
Joan - Cinderella's Fairy Godmother

Also, could you make one that says : Accardi Family Disney Cruise 2007
or if it needs to be shorter, Accardi Disney Cruise 2007, in the multicolor mickey head background that you used for the Shackelford Family one?

White backgrounds like the Lilo one would be perfect!

Does that mean I get to make another request. :rotfl: (only if you have time and can find the clip art easily). I would really love to see "Joe" in the Mickey only vs. fab 5 you so nicely already did.

Also I was thinking if we go to the character connection in Epcot to get autographs poor Chip and Dale may feel left out if I don't have their names. Which ever way you think looks best-either together or seperate. On easy way to tell them apart is that Chip has the black nose that looks like a chocolate chip. Their teeth are different too but the chocolate reference is what works for me. :teeth:

:worship: :worship: :worship: WOW!!! Those are so awesome! I LOVE the new Joe and I know he will too. I've always had trouble finding good Chip & Dale clipart for my autograph pages. You know those chipmunks can be a bit devilish. I was afraid they'd make a scene if I didn't have them. Now I'm sure they will make a scene because they will be so excited. I'll be sure to get lots of photos of them all bouncing around.

I can't wait to start making these but I'm in my super busy time at work so I think it will be a few more weeks before I'll get a chance to start them. I also haven't been able to find a plain white pillowcase to purchase yet. The only one I could find was textured so that wouldn't work. I'm glad I've got some time to continue to look for it.

I'll try to keep a watch on the thread to answer more questions. :teeth:

Hi Maria!

I am new on these boards. Just found this site and came across your threads with your work. ABSOULTELY wonderful & creative. We are planning our trip in December for my daughter's 5th Birthday. I know you must be bombarded with requests but when you have the chance, can you please do me a design with Ariel in the name Mackenzie and also a style like the one on your album page 129 that says Celebrating Princess Mackenzie's 5th Birthday in Disney, December 2006 . Whatever way you can. I know that may be too much wording. I will take your suggestions. She LOVES Ariel! I am new at this so I am hoping I can be successful on making her a t-shirt.

Thanks!!

You are FAST, Maria!

Could you also do a one like your design # 394 that says Princess Mackenzie, Walt Disney World 2006. I just want to let her see which one she likes. Also if it does not trouble you style #423 in Morgan, Walt Disney World 2006. My older one wants one now.

Thanks so much!!!!

I did both of those designs with a different software than the one I use now, so I redid them. As you will see they are not exactly the same, but they still did turn out prety good.
