I will be posting puzzles for you to answer, know the answer, just say it. There are no prizes this is just for fun. If you want me to use a puzzle that you have pm it to me. Have fun :)

Here is the first puzzle:

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

Correct ! Even tho i do not understand the puzzle( but i will end up waking up in the morning understanding)

Puzzle:

Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29. Where is the missing $1?

As a more detailed explanation, there is no missing dollar because the $2 that the bellboy has shouldn't be counted. You say that the occupants paid $27, but then you add the bellboy's $2 to that, when actually the bellboy's $2 is part of that original $27. $27 plus the $3 that was given back to the occupants = $30.

To explain the first puzzle - the "gry" clue is to throw you off track.

It then says there are only three words in "the English language". The third word of "the English language" ... is language. ;)

Correct ! There is no missing dollar. We have to be careful what we are adding together. Originally, they paid $30, they each received back $1, thus they now have only paid $27. Of this $27, $25 went to the manager for the room and $2 went to the bellboy.

Here is the next puzzle this was supplied by sassymom : ( thx for it )

Yet another puzzle :

At the local nursery school, I was chatting to my daughter's friends and noticed a number of things. Jessica has mousey coloured hair and the girl with black hair was wearing a green dress. Lucy is not blonde and Lauren does not have brown hair, Chloe was wearing a blue dress. The blonde girl was not wearing red and Lauren was not wearing green. I can't remember which girl was wearing a yellow dress. Can you determine the colours of the girl's dresses and their hair?

Okay, I made "one of those charts" and came up with this:

Jessica has mousy colored hair and is wearing a red dress.
Lucy has black hair and is wearing a green dress.
Lauren has blonde hair and is wearing a yellow dress.
Chloe has brown hair and is wearing the blue dress.

This Sentance Is False!

Correct!
sorry i have not been mantaining this i have not been on much since school statred :sad2:

Another puzzle:

You can imagine an arrow in flight, toward a target. For the arrow to reach the target, the arrow must first travel half of the overall distance from the starting point to the target. Next, the arrow must travel half of the remaining distance.

For example, if the starting distance was 10m, the arrow first travels 5m, then 2.5m.

If you extend this concept further, you can imagine the resulting distances getting smaller and smaller. Will the arrow ever reach the target?

jkmj

yes it would reach the target because you keep on extanding the concept

Another brain twister :

I was having trouble sleeping last night and I tossed and turned well into the night. Our local town hall has a clock which strikes on the hour and also strikes just once on the half hour. During one of my more awake moments I heard the clock strike once, but I could not tell what time it was. Half an hour later it struck once again, but I still could not tell what time it was. Finally, half an hour later it struck once again and I knew what the time was. What time was it?

Brain boggler :

As my birthday approaches I start to collect leaves - a little bizarre perhaps, but I enjoy it! On the first day of the month I collect one leaf, on the second day I collect two and so on. So by my birthday I will have collected 276 leaves altogether. On which day of the month is my birthday?

Finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 i am back on the dis. Man homework gets annoying. But i am going to post a new puzzle now.

U2 has a concert that starts in just 17 minutes and all of the band members must all cross a bridge to get there. The four men begin on the same side of the bridge and you must help them to get across to the other side.

Due the age of the bridge, a maximum of two people can cross at one time. To make matters worse, it is night-time and there is only one torch. The torch is always required when crossing the bridge and the torch must be walked back and forth, it cannot be thrown, etc. Each band member walks at a different speed and a pair must walk together at the rate of the slower man:

Bono takes 1 minute to cross
Edge takes 2 minutes to cross
Adam takes 5 minutes to cross
Larry takes 10 minutes to cross

For example, if Bono and Larry walk across first, it takes them 10 minutes to cross. If Adam then returns with the torch, a total of 15 minutes will have passed. There is no trick behind this, it is the simple movement of resources in the appropriate order.

Have Fun :p
