? on Osborne lights

We will be in WDW this week. (Nov 14 - 22). We are going to buy an AP. I understand that we can get into Osborne Lights before the public opening. I have a few questions.

Do we have to buy tickets? Are the pins available those nights? Are the pins property wide?
Is there anything else I need to know?

On Nov.16&17 there will be a annual passholder preview of the osborne lights at MGM.
In past years they have had the osborne pin at this event.

In the past, this has never been a seperate ticket event. The pins were only sold at the pin cart, "New York News" and "Youse Guys" on New York Street, and only in the evenings.

It starts at 6:15 and usually there is a crowd waiting to see the light turned on. It's much less crowded a half hour later.
