VWL Check In

Do you have to use valet or is self parking available??
We are not checking in at the same time, can I call ahead and have my credit card linked to the room prior to check in?
Does checking in at different times make a difference when booking thru MS??

Yeah, the res in on points, what we are thinking of doing (if I'm wrong please let me know) is on pre-DVC trips we always had some type of meal plan (Grand plan,etc.) and we figured we always wasted away unused points. So we wanted to set up a food account, of about $50 per day per person and link a credit card so that meals could be paid for thru the room passes. I won't be checking in until the second day, the wife and kids will be on the first. My mom (who was afraid of flying even before) and I will be driving down.

As noted, you can valet or self-park at VWL. If you haven't been there before, you need to know that it's a pretty good walk from the parking lot if you are hauling anything. Since it is no charge to valet park, that's hard to beat....don't forget to still tip though!

We stayed at VWL in June and Valet parked everyday!

The car guys were great ! It didnt take long to get your car ( especially if you call down first!)
It is a great perk, especially since we always seemed to be carrying something...shopping bags, DSs, etc.

How much to tip?? When you drop off and pick up or tip just when you pick up??

There was a poll on this board a while back and as I recall, most members tipped both on drop off and pick up. Again, strictly from memory, it seems that $2 was the most popular amount each time.

With free valet parking, even with the tips the parking is reasonable and of course, you get a little pampered with not having to go fetch you own car. ;)

We will be driving to WDW next summer, but since there will be 8 in our group, we will be arriving in two vehicles. We should arrive at the same time though since we will be traveling together. Can we get free valet parking for both vehicles?

Yeah, that makes sense, thanx...just trying to cover all the bases for our first DVC vacation...
