View Full Version : Value resorts with 5 people
Is it possible to have 5 people ( I guess 1 unreported person) at the value resorts?? We would buy a ticket for the 3rd child.
If so, how would the meals work - we would have a meal plan for 4 out of 5 of us.....
Please advise
thanks :confused3

Welcome to the DIS!!!
If your 3rd child is under 3, then you'll be fine. There is a pack-n-play in the closet area. The regular rooms in the Value resorts are designed for up to 4 people. If you snuck an extra older child into the room s/he would not be able to participate in Disney Extra Magical Hours as everyone needs a room key for EMH. In addition there are fire code concerns, the need for more than one bathroom, and general comfort since the rooms are pretty small.
You have some options. All Star Music (I think!) has brand-new suites that will sleep up to 6 people, but the cost is about the same as two regular rooms. You can also sleep 5 at Port Orleans Riverside.

Actually, the suites are MORE expensive than two regular rooms.
And while I don't know how often this sort of thing ever happens, from what I understand of Disney's fine print, if they catch you with 5 people staying in a room when only 4 are registered, they CAN throw you out without any refund.

It really shouldn't be an issue. Please don't lie or deceive by omission to save money. It's just not right, and it serves as a bad example for your children.
If one child is an infant in a crib, then you can try to shoe-horn yourselves into a value room. Otherwise, your could aim for one of the few trundle-bed rooms available at POR. If you don't manage to get one of those, then your best best are the value suites at the value resorts, or a deluxe resort room that fits five.

We just stayed at Pop with 2 adults and 3 kids. It really wasn't bad. We felt that the room layout was better than the WL. This was our first stay at a Value and we were very happy with it. We did not sneak anyone in as that would be wrong, but the 5 of us were pretty comfy. princess:

We stayed ONE night in Pop with 3 adults and 3 kids. My Mom had the 2 kids in one bed, me and DH in the other. We also had a pack and play for the baby. There is no way we could have done it for more than one night, even if it was allowed. The room is just not big enough. It was a last minute reservation which is why we broke the rules.

Well, since your question seems to be asking about the meal plan. What type of meal plan?
But just to let you know, those rooms are hard to have that many people in. We did 4 people one time, and it was cramped, crowded, and no type of privacy. We survived, but it was the last time-we booked 2 separate rooms after that. But as others have said, if Disney finds out, they can very well ask you to leave.

In general the Suites run about $11 more than 2 standard rooms at a value.
The suites come with a fridge which is $10 night extra if you request one when staying a value. So you really end up paying a $1 more a night for the Suites which also has a Queen Size Bed!
No other value or mod has a Queen size available.
Here is a little more info about the new Family Suites at All Star Music:
*** They are 520 square feet.
*** The Family suites are located in the Jazz and Calypso buildings at All Star Music.(these are the closet buildings to the food court and the bus stop.
*** They cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL.
*** They have a QUEEN size bed (the other values and even the mods do not have a queen bed.
***the fridge is included (if you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would need to pay $10 extra for a night for a fridge if you wanted one.
*** They come with a microwave and coffeepot (If you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would not even be be able to rent a microwave and coffeepot.
***They have 2 TV's (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 TV)
THey have 2 bathrooms (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 Bathroom.
