Do infants get a hand luggage allowance?
Usually our hand luggage is crammed full (I know this time we won't be able to take as much) but I need to take 2 bottles of milk, a spare bottle for water, a small pack of nappies and pack of wipes, fruit and snacks, and toys, just for my baby! With all that we won't be able to fit any of the things we need in.
Any idea if we can take another bag on board?

You will only be allowed one bag, that has to comply with current restrictions, per person. Your baby, unless he/she has a seat, will not have their own allowance so sorry, you'll have to cram it in somehow.

Yes your infant will get a baggage allowance for both hand and checked luggage - see here (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/baggage/allowances.jsp).

Oh dear, I hate conflicting advice!!
I knew she would get a hold luggage allowance but for obvious reasons a lot of her things go in there!
Anybody else? I can't see any info on the Virgin site for anything other than hold luggage!

Wow thats really great when we travelled to Portugal in April with our infant she got no luggage allowance at all so we had to cram everything into DH's and my bags! it was a squeeze to say the least!

And that was exactly what I was worried about!
I'd have thought on a transatlantic flight they'd HAVE to give you more space. Can you imagine 8 hours plus with no space for beakers, bottles, nappies, wipes, toys, snacks etc?! It would be a nightmare. My daughter is still BF but because I have a fear of flying I won't be able to feed her (I'm taking valium) so that's an added stress too, but still hopefully we'll be fine with the luggage allowances taking a few drinks on board for her :teeth:
