I am so upset at my TDS...patriotic pins

I saw the thread here yesterday about the new patriotic pins so i quickly called my TDS and spoke with the manager who said they didnt even get them in yet (this was about noon time)and probably wont be getting them in.
Just for a goof i decided to call this morning and i spoke with a CM who said "let me check if we still have them" ???????? came back and said they were all sold out, they came in yesterday morning.
this is the 3rd time that i have dealt with this new manager who doesnt know what is going on his store..... he was there from opening till the time i called so how come he cant give out correct info.
If anybody can pick me up an extra one of these pins, i would be so grateful!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a very busy time in retail - the Disney Stores receive several boxes of shipment on different days and at different times. No one CM can know what comes in every box of shipment. It is possible that the box with the patriotic pins came in/was open after you spoke to the first CM. CMs do not know ahead of time what is coming in any shipment.

It could be that they were sold that fast too. The two the stores here released today were going VERY fast.
I have found it best to be in the store. That's why I am wearing a path in the floor from the mall door into TDS.
Let me know if you have trouble getting any of them. I even have several of the MM star flag.

I guess i just needed to vent, i guess the frustration of waiting 2 hours for pins at tds to get only a few of the pins finally got to me when this happened.
all in all my pin buying-trading experience has been great and all of you who have replied to me have lifted my spirits with your kindness!!!!

Our DS only had 1, the Mickey with the star. Our DS Mgr said they would be coming in weekly and he was not sure on what days. Did some DS get all of the set already????

I've been checking with our TDS and the only one they've received has been the Mickey flag star pin. When I asked yesterday they said they received a shipment of over 50 boxes and they could be in there. Probably in the box on the very bottom. :rolleyes:

It's probably just a matter of time and they'll be there.

Of course, I did call another store this afternoon and the CM I spoke with said the Mickey flag star pin is a Cast Member only pin and that there were no patriotic pins coming in.

I spoke to 3 different Disney Stores today and none of them have received any patriotic pins and had not heard that they would ever get any. One manager actually told me that his shipment was going to Disneyland because the parks were in short supply. :rolleyes: They are all under the assumption that this is only for specific stores of which they are not included. It sounds like communication on these pins is less than ideal between Disney Store corporate headquarters and their store managers.

Let me clarify a couple of things ...

The pin with Mickey Mouse behind the American flag star is NOT a CM only pin. They were readily available in our store this morning. The Store Manager worked last night & their shipment of 90 boxes was processed last night. She made sure the pins were available for the collector's this morning. She held the pins at the cash register just like the 100 Years of Dreams pins.

These pins trickled out here.
Thursday morning, both stores had the MM flag/star pin, and not many of them. But they restocked with many later.
Then on Friday, I was in one TDS and the flag head pin was carried out by the armful. The store closest to me did not have theirs out.
This morning, Saturday, they both had the 3D pin (once known as M for Prez) and the Mickey flag lenticular, and the other store also had their MM flag head pin.
And as with other pins, the store that keeps theirs behind the counter had the Americana pins beind the counter, with a few on the racks. (Knowing we all would be at the counter anyway.)
The store that sells their pins off the rack, had their Americana pins on the rack also.
They still had many of the star flag. But the others were selling very quickly.
I hoping the lenticular Mickey head will surface here.

I called yesterday and my store hadn't gotten them then I called again early evening and they said that they got in 2 of them... This morning they got in the rest. Since they were holding some of the ones they got in the day before they knew I would want the others and just started putting one at least of each in my save bag before they stuck the rest out..HEHE

I have extra of all 5 if someone's store doesn't get them or you don't live near a Disney Store...

Most Disney Stores are now receiving shipment every day (instead of twice a week). Until the boxes are opened the CMs really don't have much idea what's in them. With only 2 CMs on duty it's difficult to process all the boxes in a timely manner, although they are all done within the day. And as usual - I'm finding more information about what's coming into the stores here than from communications from Home Base!

So don't be frustrated with the CMs at your local TDS - they are likely as frustrated as you! :D

They could be right though...it's just MOST stores that are getting shipment everyday (and I mean weekdays only).

The stores in our area have had all five since about last Thursday. Some of the stores which sold out initially have been restocked with pins.

This Saturday when we all waited in line they had plenty of all five pins for everyone who wanted them.

And there was no limit on how many you could buy so some people were buying 10-20 of each pin.

Well Hello what Joanie and Judith said is true. Believe them. Every store is different. Our store is a spotlight store which means we get the same merchandise but triple the amount.

We just got all the pins in today and I can guranatee you they will be gone for tonight.
I saw Daber running for the store.

Our orders do not come in at the same time all the time and at this time of year we will get 2 to 3 shipments a day.

Someone is usually processing the orders backstage. The cast members on stage do not have any idea what has come in.
Our job is to guest service you. To make sure you find what you want and or if anything you need.

Everything does come out on stage within one day. So believe us when we say we have no idea what is in. Disney sends us what they have and we cannot order anything.

When news of these pins came out last week I asked my manager about them. She had not heard any thing. Sure enough the next day we got a shipment of the MM with star. Today she was so excited because we received the MM with flag. Then she asked me what the next pin was going to be!

My store FINALLY received all 5 of the patriotic pins on Tues! :bounce: Needless to say I had to go and purchase a few. I LOVE them!

I would like to tip my hat to the Disney Store employees. They have some of the greatest patience in the world. With the introduction of first the 100 Years of Dreams pins each Saturday and then this line of patriotic pins, they have no doubt felt as if they were being attacked by the pin people. Each day one of us calls or visits asking about pins. When we don't find what we are looking for, there is a tendency for us to get frustrated or upset. Rarely though do I hear a Cast Member lose their cool. I admire their spirit and their loyalty to make our experiences memorable. Working in retail during the holiday season would be bad enough without being placed in a situation where you have little or no control of when you will see the product or in some cases not even know the product exists. Personally, I know I have made many new friends during our weekly visit to the Disney Store. I look forward to seeing the Cast Members and sharing stories with them. After all, in the end these are just pins. It is not like my life would change dramatically if I was unable to find one.

And as a side note, Lauri sent me a Mickey Star pin (thank you very much even though Trina confiscated it as her own as soon as it came out of the box). I took this pin to the Disney Store on Tuesday to ask the Cast Members when they might think they would receive some. They were so excited to see this pin as they did not even know it existed. We talked for quite some time about pins and life and although my question did not get answered and I had no idea when we would ever receive patriotic pins in Arizona, it really didn't matter. I left that night not really caring one way or another that I could not find what I was looking for. The Cast Member though did not forget. Last night as they were unpacking, they received a box of Mickey Star pins and she called me to let me know. Those touches are what makes Disney special.

As a side note... I'm sure this is not what the CM who called you was hoping for, but if you will take just a moment to put something writing about your great CM experience and turn it in to her manager... I'm sure you would make her day as well!

I just wanted to add my compliments to the CM team at the Disney Store in Chesterfield Towne Center. They received the pin with the lenticular flag with Mickey standing in front of it yesterday and they were selling fast. They know us from coming in and trading and buying pins every Saturday but didn't know our names or how to contact us. When we found out that they had received the pins and got there to find out they had already sold out, we received a pleasant surprise.. they had put 2 of the pins aside for us under the name "regular pin people" :) :) I know that we really appreciated it that they were thinking of us! :)

They are even helping me keep track of Matthew.. I stopped by the store after work yesterday to pick up the Mickey for Prez look alike pin and when the CM saw me come in she said "You just missed your husband. He tried to call you a million times on your cell phone but said that you probably had it shoved in your purse with the music turned up real loud in the car and couldn't hear the phone. Either way he was calling to tell you he bought the pins and to come home"..lol

I know the CM's have been taking a beating from this whole pin fiasco. Guys.. let's remember one thing in all this craziness... it's not the CM's fault that they don't have enough of a pin, or that their store didn't get a pin in. It's completely out of their control. They are doing the best that they can in a stressful situation and doing it with a smile on their face. Please don't take it out on them.. they didn't place or fill the orders. This weekend how about we give them a big thank you for putting up with all of us?
