Waitlist experience?

We have a 1bdrm BW villa reserved during October 2006 and we are staying 4 nights.
The problem is, there is only points availability for 3 nights and we are paying cash (and waitlisted for points) for one. That is Thursday the 12th (MNSSHP night) and I am wondering if there is any probability that a room might come up and I might not have to pay cash???
I am kind of skeptical that since they already have my $$$ they will not really want to let me off the cash hook.
Anyone have any luck with this kind of scenario??

We haven't had any luck, but your concern makes me wonder now too. We've been on the waiting list for a particular room on points for 5 months now. Meanwhile we've had the room all along on cash (which was a surprise to me-the room was available on cash at 7 months, but not points). Any waitlist that we've been on before has always come thru in less than 5 months so I've been wondering why it's taking so long. Now you've got me thinking.

We had BCV reserved for 5 nights, 1 night (10/8) booked on cash @ 7 month mark.

It became available a few months later & we were able to cancel cash ressie.

so, it appears as though all is on the up & up.:thumbsup2

I have had very good luck with wait listing, but I also always had a points reservation at another resort as a back up. I don't know if having a points vs. cash reservation made any difference or not.

Ae just got a 5 day BWV studio standard view (we had preferred view but wanted standard to save pts) today for our Oct trip...we had been on the waitlist sice the 7 month window...I think for isolated days you might be in luck...here's hoping!

In the past I've always had luck waitlisting. But right now I think my luck is changing!!!! Seems every season is becoming busy season!

My waitlist also came through when I was holding a cash ressie for the desired date.

I've never tried wailisting with a cash reservation, but I can say that when we waitlist for just one night here and there we have pretty good luck. Pixie dust that your waitlist will come through! pixiedust: We'll be at MNSSHP on Oct. 12th, see you there! :wave:

I don't think anything sinister would be going on. You're looking at two separate pools of rooms (cash and points) and i seriously doubt that Disney would have a program that would keep you from getting a points room if you already have a cash room. I've been in a similar situation many times and my waitlist has always come through. The one I'm curious about is the difference between cash rooms with a member discount and cash rooms without a member discount!
