I'm looking for a digital camera that I can use for indoor photos. I have a Kodak right now and it's ok for outdoor use but indoor in terrible and nightime is not much better. I am not too camera savvy and I'm basically looking for a point and shoot. Are there certain brands that do better than others? Price range is under $300. Thanks

The Fuji F30 is considered the best lowlight shooter today(excluding DSLRS).
But IMO it is less than great in Bright sunlit situations, acceptable just not great.
Models with image stabilization would also help with lowerlight shots, but it will not help if the subject is moving.

Low light means a long shutter to get a proper exposure. or set the camera to use a higher ISO (similar to faster film speed) so look for a camera with good reviews about that
IS is good, as anewman said.

well...I just ordered the Cannon S2. I'm hoping I can learn to use it properly in the next few weeks before Disney. How do these rate for lowlight and night time photos. I really want something that I can take good photos when my daughter is dancing on the football field, on stage for ballet or school programs in the gym. My Kodak was terrible, but I may not have been using it correctly either.
For night, I would have to go to night mode but it did nothing for the movement. For the movement, I would use sport mode but that did nothing for the lighting situation. I'm hoping that the Canon isn't too difficult to figure out.
