I hope this won't affect too many vacation plans! :(
"Canada 3000 has "ceased operations" and is telling passengers to find another way to travel."

Dbltrbl - Thanks for posting that. Like you, I hope anybody affected by the shutdown will be able to find another flight quickly. This is bad news all around. I feel sorry for the people who've just lost their jobs, the people stranded all over the world, and for the loss of a major Canadian airline. We flew on Canada 3000 last November, and thought they offered a competetive price for the Toronto -> Orlando run.

You're so right CindyAnn, this will have a HUGE impact on the Canadian Travel Industry. :(
Fewer travel options for us is only a VERY small part...

This is so sad! CindyAnn, we also flew on Canada3000 last November and got an excellent price. We had no delays and it was a good flight. If Dh and I had been able to get away again this November (if the kids could have stayed home with friends again) we would have been able to get almost the same deal!
I feel so sorry for all those employees who will be out of a job and the passengers whose travel plans have been dashed. A very sad day!

This is soooo sad!:( I can't believe all the jobs that are going down the "tubes" since this terrorist attack!
It just sickens me that these idiots are getting what they wanted. There are so many jobs lost and I feel so bad for everyone involved. We flew 6 out of the past 7 flights down to Orlando with Canada 3000 and loved all of them. Such a sad time for everyone.....when will this stop?:(

Ack, ack, ack! We had tickets to fly on Canada 3000 in three weeks! We are now flying Air Transat (if they don't go bankrupt in the meantime) at almost exactly the same times and for the same price, but we have no idea when or how we're going to get our money back for the Canada 3000 tickets (they were purchased directly from the company, on VISA, but I unfortunately just paid off the VISA bill).
Oh well,

We had tickets for Nov 28 on Canada3000, and were able to get a good rate on American Airlines. Only $15/ticket above what we were paying for the C3000 tickets.
It shouldn't matter that you paid off your Visa bill. You should call Visa and ask them to do a chargeback on the tickets, since you're not getting what you're paying for. I talked to MasterCard today and they said it was no problem to do so.

My family (mom, aunt, uncle and four cousins) are supposed to come home from Disney via Canada 3000 Wednesday. I know they said the flights were grounded at least until Tuesday. Has anyone here ever driven home from Disney to Toronto? (They are thinking of renting a van home because flights are really expensive right now) Any tips are highly appreciated.

The license for Canada 3000 Holidays (tour subsidiary of Canada3000 Inc) has been revoked. This means that people who booked via Canada 3000 Holidays can apply to the travel assurance fund in at least BC, ON, QUE for refunds.
