What did you buy while you were away that you were so thrilled with?
Last year I bought a silver plastic braclette (sp). Like the ones for cancer or breast cancer, but this one is for the 50th. I loved it because it is so different from what anyone else has. At the gift shop below TOT, we bought a TOT blanket. I love it!! It sits on my couch and I use it every night. We have bought ds some clothes that have always been great. Again, something no one else has. Can't even buy the things we have gotten him here at the Disney Stores. He always gets tons of comments when he wears his Disney stuff.
We have been the last 2 yrs in a row, and are headed back in Sept. Dh says he can't see us buyig much because of how often we have been. Hmmm.....guess we will see!! :teeth:

I got a Disneyland 50th Watch that I wear everyday. I almost walked away from it because it was a little pricey, but I never get myself anything and thought, for once, I'm getting a souvenier! I love this watch and wear it EVERYDAY! It has the golden ears with the Disneyland banner and 50 embossed on the ears. It has a black face, and a silver & gold band, so it goes with everything!
I'm so happy with it!!

We have been three times with the kids (now 5 and 3), and everytime we go we buy a new, unique picture frame, and then put our favorite photo from the trip to display on our shelves!

When I was at wdw in feb, I bought a Norman Rockwell re-creation of Mickey doing a self portrait. The Canvas that he was painting on had Walt’s face on it, suggesting that they were one in the same.

I have a sweatshirt that is my favorite. It was a little more expensive than most of the sweatshirts ($50-55) but it was such great quality and I've been wearing it for 4 years.
We also like to buy the plush Mickey & Minnie toys. They are around $10-14 each and we have classic ones and seasonal ones. We just got the 50th fab 5.

Probably the best thing we have bought is my coffee canister. I use it at least once a day, and it always give me happy thoughts. :)

SilverCeladon - check disney.com shops & Ebay, I've seen some stuff here & there.
I can't say I have a "BEST" purchase. We always buy a hat for each of us, a stuffed animal if there are kids on the visit. But when I was 11 I was fascinated by the 18th century, the style of dress (don't ask) so I found a little figurine doll in a gorgeous plum dress & white wig, Madame DuBarry. I JUST chucked it 19 yrs later, I only kept it b/c it was from DL. It was a rushed purchase at night in the Emporium before closing, I probably could have chosen something better. :)
When we go again I want to splurge on something unique.

My favorite purchase would have to be my replica of the book at the begining of Sleeping Beauty. Ever since I was 3 or 4 I wanted it every time I watched the movie. When we went to DLR in 2003 I saw it in one of the stores in DCA and had to have it. My mom though I was nuts to spend over $100 on it but how often do you get to make a childhood wish come true almost 20 years later? :)

I didn't buy mine but it was a "freebie". I got a t-shirt for the opening of Captain EO.

Last Nov I bought a Christmas Tree Hat with some of the characters on it and it lights up! Tacky maybe, but I love it. At Christmas I worked a chili supper fundraiser for school and wore my hat and during our local Santa Claus Evening parade I had tons of great comments about my hat. We are going again this Nov and I can't wait to get another hat!

I have a "Pooh" sweatshirt that I bought many years ago. I always take it when we go to DL and castmembers always say: "hey lady, did you know you had "Pooh" on your shirt? :rotfl2: I love it!
My husband and daughter bought me a lovely gold tink watch when we were there for the 50th...I love that too!

Um what haven't I bought? LOL I cherish my Pinnochio snowglobe I got from the store on main street. It's just my absolute favorite, I've never seen it anywhere else.
We bought the 50th Anniversary train set, the big gold one, last year. It's really neat.
This year I bought a print of Thomas Kinkade's Disneyland's 50th Painting. I got a nice frame for it. I love it, would like to have an actual PAINTING of it, but that was A LOT more money!
I really love all the things I get from there. I'm a big disney shopper!

I have a canvas of the Black Pearl on a moonlit night and the shadows cast on the water look like a skull. Done in very dark tones of blue, black and dark maroon.

I would say that my best purchase would be something that I didn't even purchase. It was a gift to me from my husband. It is a small pewter model of Sleeping Beauty castle. I love it!
Also recently, I purchased from the Disney Store ( I know, not Disneyland) Stitch and Nemo towels for .99. What a steal. I got several of each to give as gifts and what a great gift to give!

My Pirates of the Caribbean blanket that I just got from World of Disney at Downtown Disney!
We just went in July - for literally 3 hours - long story short: we were in Southern CA for something else and were supposed to fly in early morning and spend the day at DL. Well, we got held up because of cancelled flights and weather and didn't fly in until 6pm but DH still took me - just to be able to ride POTC with the new additions. Since we didn't get to spend much time (at all) shopping in the park, we went to World of Disney where I got my blanket, POTC picture frame and POTC watch.

When we were there in May I got a picture frame that has foam around the outside to display pins. It was the last one at the store and I only saw it at one store. I love it and would love to get another one to display more pins but I haven't seen them anywhere else. I'm going to look again when we go back in Oct.

I know it is for pin trading, which I don't do, but I have to wear an ID every day at work, so last school year I wore it on my Disneyland lanyard! I retired the lanyard over the summer...after it had been a year since our visit.
This summer we went to Colorado. I was sad that I couldn't find a usable lanyard anywhere...I'd thought of starting a tradition of buying one for each each. The only one I saw was at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver...and it had a huge clunky velcro closing at the back of the neck.
Ah, well, this will be just a Disney tradition...can't wait to go again to get another lanyard.
Second best...a photo of my family in CA. I have it on a shelf at work...it makes gloomy winter days less gloomy!

The Thomas Kinkade 50th print should still be available. I suggest the Disneyana Art Gallery in New Orleans Square in DL and I believe you can also purchase it from the Disneyana shop on Main. St. in DL or World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Last week I saw this print being sold in a local mall at a Thomas Kinkade store. Good luck! :sunny:

It was our first family trip in May, we went a little crazy buying....I'm a huge Christmas person, so the first thing was a ornament for my tree......then I went crazy from there, 50th Anniversary plate, jacket (for myself), Grumpy shirt for my ds, 50th ears & regular ears, POTC glass, 2 mugs, towels, scrapbooking supplies, 2006 grad hat for dd. Tink lamp for dd b-day (bought it without her knowing).....watch...and the list goes on. Oh did I mention we had to buy a new carry on bag for all our purchases.

Intsmom, I think one of your posts was the first thing I read on the DIS, because I remember looking at that picture of you and your boys in matching t-shirts and golden Mickey ears, and thinking "Yeah! That's the kind of experience I want to have there!" It just screams Disney, happiness and love, it's a beautiful photo.

I got a small bag/purse from DL that I use all of the time. It was around $20 and I think it was for the 50th. I am not a purse person, but I love this bag because it fits my checkbook, glasses, keys, snacks, and has a spot for a cell phone.

About ten years ago, I bought the Peter Pan snow globe. It is the Pirate ship, with Peter and the rest of the characters inside the globe. I would say that is the best thing from the park. But My Disney Signature Collection dolls are my favorite Disney things. princess:
