After being really good in Florida and actually losing 2lb on holiday, I have put 5lb back on in the 3 weeks I have been home. I know it's because I'm off work and snacking during the day.
Roll on going back to work! (Did I just say that? :confused3 !)

Excellent news Jeanette ~ I've been hoping that you would start the thread again.
I would like to lose about 7 pounds before Christmas. I still exercise every day but the recent trip and the upcoming trip next month have taken their toll.
Thanks again for starting the thread.

Netty, I was just way too excited at all the things I was seeing to spend time eating (apart from a few lovely meals!), add to that the walking and the heat and it was a real easy 2 weeks diet! Obviously I just need to go and spend 3 months in WDW :teeth:
Well done Sue, that's really good progress and you looked great in your photos the other night. :thumbsup2
Looking forward to getting this right this time.

Please can I join in as well? I seriously need to do something and this could be the boost to help me on my way. I've got two main reasons, 1. of course is next years Disney holiday but 2. is that I have been 'volunteered' (still not sure how that happened!) to run the Race For Life next year. Anyone who knows me can see that I'm not built for running, in fact I'm more like :Pinkbounc than the  that I'd like to be!

can i join in too please?
i lost 49lb before going to florida 2 years ago, but a little has snuck back on, anyway, i still need to lose 2 1/2 stone.
i am a food teacher and lecture food skills and healthy eating, but it shocked me to discover my bmi is 34, puts me in the obese/clinically obese sector. frightening.
so can the fat lady who should know better play too? thanks
tracy
ps i would just like to add its not because you are overweight you are not fit to duggas, i can do things my thin friends can t so dont worry, it will come in time.

I vary it between ~ Running, swimming and X Bike Classes.
Sounds fantastic! The right thing to do since firstly your body gets used to exercise (so you need to keep varying it) and secondly people get bored very quickly (and so train less effectively...) :thumbsup2
Do you really do exercise every day? Do you find that draining, too tiring or boring/demotivating? Ideally you should have a couple of days off a week (either three on one off, or five on two off): when you exercise you make wear and tear on your muscles (basically micro-tears) and, if you don't give them enough time to heal then, again, your exercise tends become less effective...
Do you have any resistance training (light weights) and core stability built into your routine? They are great ways to tone up and increase your body's ability to burn calories (even at rest).
Exercise is one of those things that (to a certain extent) it is not how much you do, but what you do that counts... i.e. you can often exercise less, but more effectively (as far as weight loss, toning and improving fitness are concerned).

I exercise every morning before I go to work. I exercise 2 days on and 1 day off. On my off day I swim. I use light weights about 3 times a week and a swiss ball one day a week.

Sounds perfect (providing you don't get too tired/drained/fatigued - since swimming still counts as exercise)! :thumbsup2
You really shouldn't have ANY trouble loosing the weight then :). But remember that weight isn't everything - since lean muscle weighs more than fat... Pressumably (since you have such a good routine) you are regularly monitored and re-assessed by a gym instructor?

My God, that's more than a me! That is amazing! You are definitely a role model. :)
Just look after yourself: that is a HUGE (very impressive! weight loss) over a relatively short period. The big dangers are either yo-yo-ing or going completely the other way.
Sounds like you are doing all the right things though - just look after yourself and keep regular gym re-assessments (to keep variety, stop yourself getting bored and keep motivated and happy :thumbsup2 ).

Only got 5 weeks until I have to get my body into my bikini in Kos.

I would love to join in please - I have HEAPS to lose - Florence (Minniespal) is my inspiration because I know it can be done :) :goodvibes
I did a silly liquid diet a few times because I wanted to lose fast and needed some encouraging losses to keep me going. Needless to say this wasn't the smartest thing i've ever done... :rolleyes1
I did lose a few stone and kept 1 stone off this last time (miraculous!)
I've joined Slimming World, have been doing it for the last 3 weeks and have lost 4.5lbs (weigh in for 3rd week is this Thursday). I have also started exercising regularly which I haven't done before. I have a treadmill that someone at work sold me for £50 (lucky!) and a great exercise bike and I use both along with free weights 3 times a week. I don't do a lot yet but i'll get stronger as I get smaller. I reckon it will take me 18 months/2 years to take all my weight off.
Hopefully i'll have a few Disney trips in between to keep me going :rotfl:

Definitely - her accomplishment is amazing: a real testiment to the fact that you can do whatever you put your mind to it. She seems to be doing it in a very sensible way too - which means she should have great and sustained success :thumbsup2

Exercise is excellent. However IF you ever find yourself flagging in motivation, go and join a proper gym and/or do exercise classes... to get the best results from exercise you need to be regularly re-assessed and have new goals/routines set for you. You need to keep yourself and your body challenged and interested. PLUS "misery loves company" - well maybe not misery, BUT it always feels better to work out where other people are doing the same thing (makes you work harder and doesn't feel mentally as tough :) ).
Good luck and keep at it :)

You know if you are looking for something different... (something a bit active/physical) there are quite a lot of adult beginners who try it... can be quite social too.

I have been a yo-yo dieter for years and am now starting a plan specifically designed and clincially tested for yo-yo dieters like me - LOL - which concentrates on building muscle, losing fat and inches, and restoring your metabolism so you can continue to lose weight and keep it off.
DH, DD and I are in our second week :) and doing great :)
Thank you for doing this! I think we will all benefit from being accountible to eadh other - and be able to encourage each other!
And Florence, I am saluting you as I type!

I do Weight Watchers At Home so don't go to meetings but do my own weigh in. My weigh in day is Sunday and I lost 1lb yesterday which isn't much but I have stayed the same for the last 4 weeks so am glad I'm going down again. I've now lost 26lbs in 6 months and was hoping to be at the 2 stone mark by the time I went on holiday but as I'm flying out on Thursday I'm not sure there's enough time to lose the last 2lbs!! You never know though....!!! :rotfl2:
Just wanted to share :woohoo:
Thanks,
