New to DVC and had a question on renting points

I was surfing around the rental forum area and was wondering why when someone posts availble points do they post what vaction property they r from? I thought the points could be used anywhere and there were no special advantages to getting a room in the vacation property owned. Did i miss something?

Well they post where they own as they can book that up to 11 months in advance .The other resorts can only be booked 7 months ahead of time.

So yes buy where you want to stay gives you that 4 month adantage when booking.
