For increased security, we will be requiring you to present your driver's license and credit card in addition to your Emerald Club card to the rental agent or exit booth agent for all rental transactions. Your Emerald Club card will continue to identify you as an Emerald Club customer and ensures that you will receive priority service whenever you rent from National around the globe.

we have been asked for all of the above the last two times we were in orlando......

What if you chose not to receive an Emerald Club Card when you signed up because you didn't want to carry any more plastic?

Sent an email to National about this....during the last free sign up for EA a several months ago they gave people signing up the option of having the actual card sent to them or not. DH opted for no card so he just received a email stating what his EA # was.

Just checking to see what needs to be done to get the 'actual' card.

The concept by National was a good one... they wanted to save people from having more cards in their wallets then they needed (also it saved National from having to print & send out cards!) Who knew the world would change so much in the interim!

Just heard back from National....those who opted for not taking the card just email EA and let them know you now need one. They say to allow 2-3 weeks to receive the card.

When I first saw this yesterday, I called National's EC number and I just asked for a card because we didn't get one when we signed up a couple of months ago and she said ok and that it would take 4 - 6 weeks!!!

I said that my trip was in 3 weeks and then she said I wouldn't need the card. I sure hope she's right!:confused:
