When planning for next year's trips, I asked youngest DS which resorts he'd like to visit...

his reply was "....where-ever has the most comfortable sofa bed..." ;) . He doesn't know about the OKW studios sleeping arrangements:rolleyes1 .

His rankings on comfort factor thus far:

12/05 WLV - lumpy & uncomfortable

06/06 BCV - slightly better

Personally, I can say; since DH & I claimed the bed. Any recommendations?

We'll be @ BCV in Oct., how's their sofa beds?

Because all of SSR's are the new kind, a foam, if I knew that someone really wanted a comfortable sofa bed, that's where I would go. Have you ruled out OKW because the 2 Q's are my preference for a studio stay with 2 adults who don't want to share a bed?

Bobbi :)

PS. Recently we stayed at VWL. 1 adult in a studio didn't open it up and said it was very comfortable to sleep that way. In the other studio that we had (same stay, just last week), the second adult (not a large male, but mid-sized) opened the sofa bed and thought it was fine.

When I slept on the sofa bed at BCV last year, it was pretty thin, lumpy. We just bought a sofa bed at home, and we bought the style that DVC is putting in SSR and is in the process of putting in at the other resorts (we've had both old and new style on different trips at OKW). One difference is the length when it's extended as a bed. The old style sofa bed, with the springs and the bar, only extends 72 or 75 inches. The new style goes the full 80 inches, just like a regular bed. This is good to know if you're dealing with lots of tall family members. I'm only 5ft4in and yet on the BCV sofa bed last year, I had to sleep at an angle to avoid having my feet hang over the edge (with the pillow, I didn't want to sleep right up at the top).

Just returned from BWV and the sofa bed was great! The design was different from any I have ever seen, the bed had a strap that you pulled out from the top of the couch. Very unusual, and comfortable. None of that "bar in your back" like the regular pull outs. I suspect that all of the beds in the villa were recently replaced. The beds at BWV seemed just better than any other Disney Deluxe resort we have stayed at. :wizard: I hope to see the better bed trend continue! I love going to the Marriot since their beds are so luxurious, but would not consider a Marriot if there was a Disney resort within range. :)

SSR sofa beds are amazing! i have never seen anything like it. we were there last Jan. they are still sofa beds, but they are the most comfortable i have seen.

just returned a week ago for BWV. while their sofa beds are still good, they don't compare with SSR. maybe our room hadn't been updated, but it looked pretty new to me, and it wasn't the caliber of the SSR.

if that is the core issue for your trip, its a no brainer. SSR.

I have gotten there and had a very uncomfortable sofa bed. I called Housekeeping and asked for a new mattress and they brought one up right away.
It was great!

Our kids usually get the sofa bed -- based on their feedback, I'd rate SSR the best.
BCV sofa beds are not very comfortable; our last stay, we did call housekeeping and they brought up a new mattress which was placed on top of the existing one. Made the bed a bit strange to look at, but it was an improvement in terms of comfort.
We haven't been to OKW for awhile, but the sofa bed didn't receive the kind of complaints from DD and DS that BCV's did.
VWL--seemed to be about the same as OKW to them.
We've only stayed one night at BWV, so I don't really have too much feedback re. the Boardwalk's mattresses, sorry.
Hope that helps! :cloud9:
