Can you take small scissors into the parks? I was thinking about taking a small pair of scissors (blade less than 2 inches) in my fanny pack so that I can cut moleskin to size if (or is it when :) ) I need it. Also, if you don't carry scissors with you, how do you cut your moleskin down to size?

I always pre-cut different sizes and keep the strips in my backpack!

I've taken my folding scissors with me into the parks - they have their own special small pouch in my fanny pack, and no one has ever even seen them, let alone questioned me about them.

I'd say you shouldn't worry about it - the bag checks are cursory at best.

I have brought small scissors into the parks before to cut moleskin as well. I usually keep them in a small first aid kit. Never had a problem!!

Thanks everyone. I found a pair at Walmart that has a cover for the blades. Acutally they are kids scissors but they seem to work well enough and and they are small. I will pack them in my fanny pack in case I need to cut my moleskin down.

I have taken small scissors in. We used the instant camera that prints pictures on stickers. While waiting in line, we would cut them to size and add next to the character's autograph. It is the best book so far. DD loves it and it gave us something to do in line.

Try a pair of baby scissors, they have rounded tips. I have carried them for the last three years.

Need a new pair, they did not return from our January trip. :confused3

I always carry bandage scissors in my first aid kit. They are blunt tipped, but cut moleskin and other bandaging materials better than some of the other small scissors mentioned. You can find them at some stores by the bandaids, or go to a nurse uniform shop to find a good selection.
