Final trip documents?

How long would you wait before calling Disney to see where they are?

WHO do you call to check on them IF you call?

Hi..I reveived my docs yesterday and I am arriving at Pop 9/16. I called CRO to inquire about them 5 days before I received them and the CM told me she would send a note to the doc dept. she must of because I received them. I would call CRO and find out.

According to the person I spoke with we shouldn't receive any documents, luggage tags or anything ahead, because we booked online.

I thought #1, the docs were your receipt/proof that final payment was made (which was done May 30th)and credited to your account, #2 EVERYTHING I read has Travel Documents on it and explains how they will mail 40 days out OR after receipt of final document...NO WHERE does it say that those rules don't apply to internet bookings.

I'm disappointed, I was looking forward to getting them in the mail as proof that we're really going, and that it's quickly approaching!

Booked online or not, you do need the travel documents...they have your Magical Express tickets for the bus, both arrival and departure, and the special yellow paper luggage tags you need to have them pick up your luggage...we booked online last year's trip and we got ours about three weeks out. You also should get Happiest Celebration on Earth blue plastic luggage tags, one per person.

Call them again, and talk to another CM. I think you were misinformed!

We're 30 days out as well!!! Wooohooo!! We have received our DME info and luggage tags, but nothing else. I've heard you get them anywhere from 2-4 weeks out; guess I'll give it another week... maybe.

I received my DME document and yellow tags just this past weekend. I have yet to recieve the Happiest Celebration on earth plastic luggage tags with vouchers. If I remember correctly from my trip last year, I received each within a week or 2 of each other.....well....I know they are coming or else I'll be calling Disney people.

I forgot to say we are driving down, so we won't be using ME from the airport or anything...does that matter?

I also forgot to tell you that after I called them, a few hours later they called me.................to make sure we have all of our dining book because things are booked up due to the free dining plan!! EEEEKKKK! :sad2: :sad2:

I dont think youll be getting anything if your driving down there, because your tickets to the parks and the dining package is all on your hotel key to your room, thats if you are staying on-site. If you are staying off-site then I dont know how that works but if your driving I wouldnt think you get anything.

You still get final documents ahead of time, regardless of whether you drive or not! It comes in a plastic envelope with happiest celebration on earth luggage tags, vouchers and confirmation! :thumbsup2 Then you present your vouchers at check in and receive your key to the world card :goodvibes

No documents yet here. I will call if I don't get them by the end of next week I think. I do have the ME tags, though.

Last year we drove and yes we did get documents with vouchers and I believe we booked online. So it shouldn't matter you should be getting travel documents soon.

Yeah, me too! Only my kids don't know we are going in 30 days... they still think we're planning for our "some-day trip" when they are 7 or 8!! It's been great having them 'plan' our trip with us w/o them even realizing it (they're just 6!) We plan to tell them September 9.... hopefully we'll have our final document by then!

I would definently call back because that doesn't sound right at all. Besides you should get your pretty holographic luggage tags, I still have mine from last year but that doesn't stop me from wanting more :banana:

Come to think about it, not this year and not the year before (we booked trhough a travel agent last year) but in 2004 I booked online and I still received final docs in the mail

We're going 9/23-10/2 we've recieved our magical express paperwork and tags but nothing else yet.

We're driving and when I lasted called them to confirm that my trip was paid in full I asked if we would be receiving any more paperwork and I was told that we would not. However I thought that we would get the Planet Hollywood vouchers in the mail and it would be nice to get a receipt showing that we are paid in full. I'm wondering, was the CM wrong, should we be receiving something else before we leave? We are down to 31 days! :sunny:

We've never taken a trip like this before either, the only reason I had an idea was thanks to all the information I'm gleaming here on the DIS :grouphug: these past few months and it was on the back of our first invoice.

We tried to keep a trip a secret once a couple of years ago and my kids were onto me so fast, lol. I think it was that silly "I'm going to Disney World" grin I couldn't hide :lmao:

my TA told me that I would receive all my travel documents 10-14 days out so I was thinking I would get them this coming week but yesterday morning (friday) I was woken up to a phone call and sure enough it was my TA letting me know that I could come pick them all up!!!!! So I am sure you will get yours by two weeks if not during that first week to the last. :thumbsup2

My in-laws booked directly with Disney just a few weeks ago (I've been booked with DU since early June) and they are getting stuff in the mail like every other day, from Disney. I know when my DU agent asked for my flight info last month, she said Magical Express was sending stuff out 45 days in advance. I passed that mark a month ago and still nothing.

I've e-mailed them again but I'm getting anxious! It's not likely stuff would get lost in the mail, but why chance it at the last minute.

I want my stuff!!!!! :rolleyes:

I am using DU, and my TA said in an email awhile ago, when I set up our ME, that those items would be coming 10 days before my trip. Last time we went, I don't remember how far before the trip the envelope came, but I remember it did not come from Disney, it came from the TA..... so maybe each DU TA has their own timetable for sending out the docs????? I don't know, just trying to piece this all together, as I am getting anxious as the travelers leaving after me are getting their stuff..... EEK!

Now, for the subject at hand. I e-mailed my gal at DU a short time ago and just heard back from her. She called Disney re: my ME stuff, and it was supposed to have been sent out on the 11th. However, since neither me nor DU had received it, they are printing them up and sending them out again. Hopefully I'll have them in about a week. I'm glad I checked!!

Also, I was told that I could still use the full ME service even if I didn't get the stuff, but how would they know which luggage was mine without the tags??...just check the names? Really curious on that one.

So, here's hoping! :)

After posting on this thread I had my husband call our travel agent and ask about the travel docs. She hand delivered them to our house on Saturday :banana: . We didn't get any fancy holograhic luggage tags, but the travel agent put the confirmation letter in a gift basket full of cute disney stuff including t-shirts for the adults and fun game books for the kids. What a great way to deliver the tickets to the trip of a lifetime! We still haven't received the ME stuff, so I am waiting for that, but I am really happy with our TA right now :goodvibes .

I'm quoting myself, even though I was told we wouldn't receive anything I just received my packet in the mail today (27 days left until our trip). It had luggage tags, Planet hollywood vouchers and our reservation info. I feel much better receiving this stuff.

My AAA TA also gave me a nice photo "album" and put our names and date of our trip, where we are staying and a picture of the resort on the front.
From AAA of course, but it was nice.
