I felt so left out, when I read the other thread. My dates missed most of thiers by just a couple of days. So, I figured I make a thread of our own. Thanks to the OP who even started the other thread. What a great idea!!

So, I am calling all 3rd week September Disers going to the world. To post. I am besides myself, with happiness. :p I remember when I had 4 months on my ticker, and now my ticker says 29 days I cannot even believe it!! It is really getting close!! I really want to boogie down   all night. So, if you are as excited as I am. Let's just post about it!!

My trip consists of me(34)Mommy of DS 12. It was originally just a trip for me, and my oldest son. But, my DM & DF. Could not resist the free dining promo either!

We are arriving Sept 21st, and sadly departing the 28th. Staying at the Pop Century!! I cannot wait!! :dance3:

DH and myself, along with friends of ours (2 very young at heart 70-something year old friends from Church  ) arrive at my "other home" on 9/24 (only 32 more days :cloud9: !) for 7 glorious days. We have talked about doing a trip together for years, and we finally decided to "just do it" (no Nike pun intended :rotfl2: !). We had a Disney dinner last Sunday with them and a friend of mine from work who is headed to WDW with her family in 10 days for their first WDW trip ever. She is soooooo excited. She's going to call me mid-way through her trip to let me know how things are going. Watch out ºoº , here we come :moped: !!

Rest easy, imminent travelers. We went last year, Sep 16-21. Got my ADRs about 90 to 60 days out, some later, no problem. Left Monday late am from Pittsburgh (pulled DS 7 from school, didn't hurt his education at all, and may have helped) and got into POP by 2 pm. By 3 pm, we we're checked in and DW and DD stayed to nap while DS and I went to BB. Not overly crowded, nice sunny day. Went and gathered DFamily from POP and went to Epcot for 7 pm TS at R&C for Illuminations. NO crowd. Walked on Spaceship Earth, prior to dinner, no wait.

Tuesday MK, got there about 30-60 minutes after rope drop. NO crowd. Went to Tomorrowland first, and saw Stitch ALONE walking about. Got many pics and autograph. Walk on Space Mountain twice with NO wait. (Light rain for about 30 minutes at about 10 am helped. Rode Buzz, 5 minute wait. Stitch, 5 min. Worst line was Speedway, about 20-30 minutes. Did all of Toontown and most of Fantasyland by 2 pm CRT lunch. Minimal waits on Fantasyland rides, most was about 10 minutes for small world. Walk on to Haunted Mansion, Rode BMTRR with minimal wait and again right after with FP. Jungle Cruise, 10 minute wait, max. Fantastic Day.

MGM on Wed, low crowds, walk on ToT twice, no wait. Star Tours twice, no wait.

AK on Thu, low crowds, (Rained about 4 so we left, but did everything (almost) by then anyway). Safari, 15 minut wait, Kali, twice, 10 minutes or so. Dinosaur, walk on.

TL and EPCOT on Fri, low crowds, used FP and walked on other rides. M:S 5 min, test track 10 min. El Rio whatever, and Mael something, walk ons.

Sat at MK prior to depart, LOW crowds, unbelievable. Walk on Pirates, 5 min wait for Splash Mtn, twice. Wait for Buzz/Incredibles, Stitch signatures/pics, 10 minutes.

Too much food, very little crowds. FANTASTIC TRIP.

The shortened operating hours is more than made up for in the lack of crowds.

:cool1:
ENJOY.
:cool1:
Even a bad day at Disney beats a good day at work.

disneyfan551.. Im laughing.. my DH still doesnt know that Im going.. with the kids but without him..lol

faindrops.. I dressed up for my first MNSSHP in 2003. I had a poodle skirt costume on. It was a cheaper, one piece costume and the skirt had tulle underneath of it. It was so hot there the first week of October.. in the upper 80's. It never really cooled off at night either. The tulle of the skirt stuck to my legs ALL NIGHT! it was itchy and annoying. The little one piece Tigger costume I bought for my then almost 2 DS, was too hot to wear and it was a very light sweatshirt material. My girls wore a poodle skirt and a Cindy dress. I put my DS in an orange tshirt with jack o lantern face on it that my mom had made. Thats what Im going to do this year.. some sort of halloween t shirt. I might just take the one my mom made me in '03. I only wore it to the park one day on that trip. Im assuming its going to be at least as hot this trip since we are going 2 weeks earlier. IF you are dressing up.. wear something cool and something that wont stick to your legs all night. :teeth: My kids will most likely dress up.. for me.. a halloween shirt. Im excited, I cant wait to get back to the halloween party. Oh heck, I just cant wait to get back to disney!!!!

So, I still have a little more time.Well, I haven't actually packed yet, but I started my list a week ago. I don't actually pack until the day beforehand, but I do make a list (DH says I run my life with lists!). But I find that if I pack too early, I'm constantly pulling everything out of my suitcase because I can't remember if I packed a particular item yet or not (yes, I'm very forgetful).
Anyways, I think as of now, I'm the only one here checking into the BCV for the 16-21, preceded by one night (9/15) at AKL.

Well today, I just went to a new target very close to my home. I found so many snacks for my son and I for the plane ride. I found what looks like the most delicious trail mix. I cannot wait to try it! I have the snacks, already in the carry on bag, along with my documents. I have washed and folded most of my clothes. The weather has turned pretty cool over here. So, I got the rest of my sons clothes together, tonight. Maybe before the 10th, I will have to wash one more load. :confused3 TinkNh, you are right. The anticipation is driving me nuts. But, it is also fun. :thumbsup2

Simba- I definately need to make a list this time around. I am having this wierd fear. I will forget something.

DisneyFever- I am also taking a surprise 3 night pre trip with my son to the Universal area. He loves Universal. I think most teens do. Anyhow, I kept telling him, its not in the budget, its way to expensive. There was no way I could save up so much within 5 months. He is such a sweet kid. He says it is ok mom. Maybe we can go another time. I cannot wait to wake him up on the 18th, so we can head to the airport. I dont know what I will say. My husband says tell him that I am surprising him to 4 more days at disneyworld. Then dont say anything until we get to the resort(Rosen shingle creek) I know he will just about pass out with excitement when he sees we are headed for universal!! Any other suggestions on how to surprise my son?? Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Well, its pretty late. Goodnight everyone :wave2:

We are surprising our 2 eldest grandkids (their baby brother too small this time!). I have a scavenger hunt planned for Fri. Sept.15th. That's how they will find out they are going. Just me, DH and the 2 kids...without their parents. We are going to spoil them rotten!!! We are staying at POFQ, with the free dining and will be attending our first MNSSHP. I also got lunch at CRT, although my DGD is "so not a princess". She'll pick the sword, not the magic wand. All the better to battle her brother with. pirate: pirate: We are SO excited and it is SO hard to keep it secret. I'm glad to see this thread and who else is going. I'll have my lime green mickey head on my fanny pack.See you there! :wave2:

We are going on surprise trip to as sports/as movies 9/16-9/23.

Boys have never been to wdw and think they may be going in 4-5 years. I will be taking 8 y/o out of school that morning and we will have a treasure hunt at the grandparents house before going to the airport. I can't wait to see the look on their faces. The secret suspense is just killing me though.

I have more than 100 pins sorted through and ready for packing. I am trading out the pins with CM's to get a better variety of pins for the kids going on the Bert's Big Adventure charity trip next year. The donations have been awesome, but I have so many pins for the kiddos that are holiday or DL oriented that I would like to trade out for more generic character pins for the kids. I usually have a lot of Buzz fans and princess lovers that I need to be able to spoil. :wizard:

I have my clothes already mentally picked out and all the items will be assembled this weekend for packing. I have my little collection of documents. I have my extremely basic itinerary, which needs to be worked on a little bit more and published for laminating.

We have to take the dogs to the vet for a Bordetella shot this weekend, since it's been 6 months since their last one. PetsHotel requires one within 6 months of the stay and we will be at 7 months by the time that they go. The shot also has to be given at least 2 weeks in advance, so we are squeaking this in. We had intended to do it last weekend, but with Dad's heart procedure being done out of town, this was not accomplished.

I bought the shirts off of eBay tonight that we will wear to MNSSHP! Witches Gone Wild..... :maleficen I am looking forward to the looks that the shirts get. :rotfl:

I have placed our order with GardenGrocer.com already. I think all the arrangements have been made. Dog boarding booked, airline booked, room & tickets booked, ADR's made, it's mostly just a steady coast from here.

I do however feel that I am unprepared for this trip. It's only for 3 days, but there is a lot of stuff that goes into those 3 days. Maggie

Hiya MinnieMouse. I have never booked a fantasmic package. None of those restaurants appealed to me. So, I usually have dinner early at 50's primetime. Then head over to fantasmic 30-35 minutes prior to show start. I always get a seatin the middle about 6 seats up from the lowest one. I have arrived as late as 25 minutes prior, and got 5 seats in the lower mid section. I say to be safe. Just arrive 35 minutes early. Oh, and that is my favorite show. Have a great time!!

Thanks, 50's Prime Time was my second choice, but they are booked up as well!!! Pin trading- in all my trips, and years going to one of my favorite places on earth. I have never understood, or participated. It does sound fun though. Tell me Mickeysaver where is the best place to get these pins. Can you explain the concept to me. TIA :p

Ah, pin trading. I never thought that I would ever get into a hobby that cost so much or looked so stupid.....well, that's what I thought when I first saw that pin trading/collecting even existed back in 1996 at the Olympics here in Atlanta. I thought it was about the dumbest thing that I ever did see.

Fast forward about 5 years.....
Full blown Disney addiction had settled in on me. I was looking for a new Disney hobby that would give us something fun to do at Disney outside of running from ride to ride. Pin trading seemed reasonable enough, but I still doubted that I would ever have that many pins.

Fast forward about 5 more years to present day....
We have over 500 pins. Mostly Stitch, Patriotic, Timon & Pumbaa, Jessica Rabbit, little green men from Toy Story, and pins from our trips to WDW. I do some trading on PinPics.com (www.pinpics.com) and at some local meets a couple of times a year. But, my favorite thing is trading with the CM's at WDW. It's a neat way to meet the people that make the magic.

Now, most of my own personal pins, I started out by purchasing lots of cheap traders off of eBay and traded up to what I wanted. I also collect pins for the kids that go on the Bert's Big Adventure charity trip every year. Pin traders have big hearts! Otherwise, I could never have managed to have spoiled the kids that went on the BBA trips over the last 3 years....we are talking 100+ pins and many lanyards each year! We have a big batch of donated pins that I need to trade out with the CM's during our trip. The CM pin trading on this trip is all about Bert's kids....and meeting some neat CM's.

I will be purchasing pins for our personal collection during our stay too. It's a hobby that I never intended to have gotten this far into, but it is a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade the experiences and friendships for anything. Maggie

Awww...we all take life for granted. I found the radio station that sponsors this charity about the same time that the first BBA trip took place. They broadcasted the send off, one day while they were there from MGM, and the last day. I was crying like a baby every morning! The families are always such sweet people and more than anything, you can tell they are just addicted to their kids....like everyone should be. The fact that BBA is in my backyard, deals with kids, and it's got a Disney connection.....how could I not adopt this charity and try to find a way to spoil the kids?!?!

While we here on the DIS are blessed to be able to afford a trip to WDW, those families could not have ever managed to have taken the trip without this charity. All kids deserve a little pixie dust. These kids deserve more than just a little pixie dust and BBA brings lots of it to them.

I am just a small time supporter of the charity. I hope that every once in a while that someone, like you, will click that link and see exactly just how wonderful this charity is. Thanks for looking! We all need a reality check now and then....these kids will definately help you out in that department. Maggie

PS. Sorry for hijacking the thread.....back to the topic....what was the topic again? :teeth:

Mickeysaver. It is true, that we all need a little reality. And you are so right, about that site. Giving that, and putting things back into perspective. It is a great charity!! The topic, is us going to be in disneyworld in less than a month. I really cannot believe. I only have a few short weeks left. I now feel, as though. I am running behind time. As, I have yet to go and get the last minute stuff on my list. It seems as though, I think of more things to want to pack daily. :confused3 I have given myslf a cut off date, to be all packed. The 10th. But for some reason. I dont feel organized, this late in the game. I dont know why. :confused3

Minnie Mouse!! I am so happy for you!!. Do not leave there without trying the vanilla peanut butter and jelly shake. Or at least having someone you dont mind sharing with get it so you can taste it. I remember reading about it, and thinking yuck, peanut butter and jelly shake. But, I got enough nerve to try it. Oh my goodness. I have been waiting since I booked this trip, to try it again!! I am happy for you, and your party. You will have a blast!! :cheer2:

Thanks! Yea, I guess a PB&J shake does sound funny, but I love the sandwich, so maybe DH will split one with me...that is, if I'm not so greedy to want one all to myself! :joker:
We have not started any real packing yet, but yesterday we laid out some outfits on the bed so we could get an idea of what we still needed. Then I dragged DH to the mall (he calls it Kryptonite for men...) and got him a new pair of shorts. I was supposed to be looking for capris and T's, but you know girls...I ended up with some really great work tops! princess: :teeth:
This annoys DH to no end, until he overheard another couple arguing about how much clothing the wife was buying...he told me he wanted to go over and support the other husband's argument...luckily I stopped him. :lmao:
No, seriously, he is a very good sport and puts up with a lot from me, but I think that I will hold off on any more Disney shopping for a while! :groom:

MinnieMouse- I hear ya. My hubby puts up with alot from me too. He use to go out to the malls, and shopping with me. But, now he just says only spend 100 dollars today honey. I am serious. He refuses to shop with me. When I come home, and I have spent 175, he just shakes his head. He is a good hubby. :thumbsup2

Anyhow, I don't know what size you are. Or if you have a fashionbug store near you. But, they are having a clearance on them. I paid like 4.00 for a pair of capris, and the racks were still full, of them. Not trying to get you in trouble with the hubby, just wanted to give you a tip ;)

P.S. You may just love the pb&j shake. So much. Just make sure you try it!! :thumbsup2

For those interested in the weather. At our state fair there was a booth from the national weather service. To check forcasts the site is www.weather.gov It is a pretty cool site. There is a tropical depression but it is not too organized yet but there is some info on that storm on the site. I think the forcasts go for 7 days out.

My sister and I will be at WDW September 20-25th staying at POFQ. This is the first time we have taken a trip alone together. I think she is having some doubts about whether she will have a good time (she thinks WDW is mostly for kids; what's ups with that?), so I am hoping to convert her into a WDW addict like me. If that doesn't work I will have to brainwash her. ;)

We'll be at Pop Sept 22 to 27. Rather short trip, but we'll have a lot of fun! This is our first time on the free dining plan. We've been looking at all of the food pictures on the food forum, and we are so excited. My son wants to see how many different sweet items he can get through meals and snacks :confused3 (Ok, I'm kind of excited about that too :Pinkbounc )

Question everyone. Tell me what you do with your lime green mickeys from home dept? Do you cut the shape out. I am at a lost. On what to do. Not very crafty to say the least. So, post your ideas. Thanks everyone!! All who have come, and posted to the board. A big, hello, and welcome. I just cannot wait!!! I am so anxious  :lmao:

Everyone probably does something a little different. I got my idea from seeing someone's here. I don't cut them out, but I take two and tape them back-to-back. Then I take a Sharpie and outline the Mickey head (just to make it more noticeable) and write DIS.com on it. I punch a hole out near the top and use ribbon (I used to have lime green ribbon but I can't find it now) to hang it from a backpack, lanyard, or something. I've got about 4 of these and try to wear one in the front (usually from my lanyard) as well as one hanging from my fannypack or backpack.

To show what a great friend she is :grouphug: , she called me from Epcot on Tuesday and let me listen to an entire Off Kilter performance (OK, I admit I'm an Off Kilter groupie  ~ check out me and Jamie in my signature picture :cloud9: !). As if that wasn't good enough, she then hands the phone to Jamie :lovestruc so I could talk to him :woohoo: and then I talked to Mark and then Jamie again. Now THAT was a good day at work :rotfl2: . I am doing some heavy duty packing this weekend. I've been checking the forecast and it looks like temps in the 80's. Bring on the swimsuits!!

We're not staying at AKL, but we are going to MNSSHP on the 22nd. I know our DS2.5 will love it. We're probably not dressing up but instead getting Halloween T-shirts to wear. Been at WDW at the end of Sept in the past and it's still really hot then.

Ladies, and Men alike. Who is all the way packed? I just am doing so many things. I had my date set for yesterday or today to be finished packing. But, I am not. It is so frustrating, my husband has moved my "disney bags". To who knows whereever, and when I ask him to help me find it. He just sits there. Grrrrrr. Plus, I have to go to work. I am totally stressed. I needed to come here and vent. I really feel as though, time is running away from me now. Like I am behind the game. Anyway, all thanks for listening.

I did the "first wave" of my packing yesterday. I've had our suitcases out since we returned from Key West at the end of July. I've been throwing in vacation "necessities" as I come across them. I took my official packing spreadsheet and started crossing off my packed items. It's a good feeling :thumbsup2 . I just returned from our church picnic. Our friends that we are going to WDW were there, so of course the coversation was all about ::MickeyMo ! The first thing my friend said was "I'm too excited to sleep!" The funny thing is they are ~ my parent's age, but DH feel like they are our peers. It will be a fun trip indeed :cool1: ! We already are talking about next year if they offer free DDP again. You can never have too many WDW trips planned  .

The we bought the final pieces of our MNSSHP attire tonight. I hesitate to call it a costume, because we are wearing a cute t-shirt & shorts, a witch hat, and some witch striped socks. We have some non-edible treats that we plan to give out to some of the kiddos at the party as a surprise bit of pixie dust.

We purchased the final items needed to leave with the PetsHotel, so that our four Chihuahuas will be sufficiently spoiled while we are gone. I still need to mix the dog food and package it into bags for their daily consumption. We also still need to package some treats for them. Deuce is allergic to any type of poultry, so we have to be very careful of what they get to eat. Also, since all four are sharing a space, we needed to buy new cat type beds for the three princesses, Cinderella, Perdita, and Beanie. Deuce will be fine on the bed that they provide, but the girls need their own personal space. Deuce needs to have his seizure meds divided out into a bottle for the pet resort also.

Packing will be finalized next weekend. I also need to make sure that Gabby is all packed and ready for the week-long trip that she has to take out of state the day after we return home from WDW. I will be doing lots of laundry this week to make sure that we are all set by Sunday to handle the two weeks ahead.

I am excited about the trip. I still have lots of loose ends to cover at work before the trip too. Most of my job duties are not known to the other members of the nursing staff, so whenever I am out, it creates a bit of stress for me, because I worry that something that needs to be done will be overlooked or neglected.

Ok, enough for now. I have posts to read and a panda cam to watch. I am addicted to watching Lun Lun at Zoo Atlanta on the CNN panda cam (http://cnn-pandacam.wm.llnwd.net/cnn_pandacam). Maggie

The Queen of the Procrastinators will arrive at WDW 9/19!!!! Staying til 9/24!!! OK, we JUST planned this trip...bought the airfare at 10p.m. today (9/10) when DING came thru and I scored $110 round trip from Manchester NH!!! DD and I are coming down for a quickie, and to celebrate her 13th birthday (on the 23rd)! Cannot wait...!!!! My WDW packing is ALWAYS started! I keep the misty bottles, ponchos, autograph books, glow sitcks, etc in a backpack, ready to grab at a moments notice. I also have the bathroom bags packed all the time, full of those cute little bottles of stuff for hair and skin, to make the packing quick and easy. Now if I can just come up with a park plan, score some ADR's (not too many, but we adore Boma and Mama Melrose's), and think of something special to do for DD's special day!

Oh yes, we'll ge at MNSSHP on the 22nd, don't know what we are wearing! Maybe I'll see y'all there!!!

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite Disney Hotel, and I have stayed at most all of them. I love to find a nook and curl up in the lobby, it is so beautiful and relaxing. There is nothing wrong or missing at the WL, in my opinion. Well... I guess if it were on the monorail it would be perfect, but the boat to MK made up for that.

We will be at Animal Kingdom Lodge 9/18-9/24, first time to stay at AKL, and I hope it is a wonderful as WL.

MNSSHP on the 22nd, and dining plan and Typhoon Lagoon. Looking forward to a wonderful trip.

DH called me at work and I said "I got you the perfect anniversary present............a trip to Disney World!" Hey, I'll take that kind of present every year :rotfl2: . Kinda funny since we went to WDW on our honeymoon :thumbsup2 .
