I'm desperately trying to pass away the time until we leave, as you can tell. I thought I would have a little fun and see what kind of responses this question generates. :)

Are you a Disney lifer or a late bloomer?
Meaning: have you loved all things Disney since you were a little kid, or did it take a while for you to develop into the crazed fan you who steals LGMH from HD? :teeth:

For example, I've always loved Disney cartoons and Mickey, but it wasn't until I was 15 that it really started. I received a B&B video for my Bday, and was hooked ever since. I now have all the animated movies Disney ever made, and my house is adorned with Mickey's. To sane people this seems extreme and a little "freaky". I'm hoping that there is at least 1 other Diser who can relate.
So, which are you?

Lifer, for the 21years I have been on this planet. My parents are not fans (why I was 19 the first time I glimpsed Cinderella's castle), they watched the movies when I was little but in my teens I was on my own. They always asked if I could put more practical things on my Christmas list than plushies. Pfft.

I'm a lifer. My first trip to WDW was when I was about -5 months old (I was still in my mom's tummy), and I've been hooked ever since. My Disney love was sort of dormant between 1993 (which was at the time my last trip to WDW) until I met my DW in 2002. She owns every animated Disney movie on VHS, and every one that has been released on DVD. She's taken me to Disney on Ice four times now (and we are still sans-child), and that reignited my love of Disney. Now I'm always looking towards our next trip to WDW, and looking to find any little Disney knickknack to decorate our house.

Would appear I'm the first Late Bloomer....

Making our first trip as a family this year, but all the excitement that planning said trip has brought can I become a lifer? I'm relatively young at 34, and if it as good as it would appear on these boards I should be able to convert my three little ones to lifers in no time at all as well...

I'm a lifer when it comes to Disney. Am 53, never missed Wonderful World of Disney. Saw all the Disney movies, old and recent. Strangely enough, I visited WDW once in 1977 and my first time back will be 10/28, but my husband and I both are as excited as if we were little kids. :)

Same here, Madcat! It seems as more time passes by, I grow to love Disney even more. I'm a lifer, by the way. . . .I have a big Goofy plush on my bed, two big Disney princess snowglobes on my nightstand, about 100 Disney pins, shirts, DVDs, etc. and I'm not ashamed to admit it! I feel sorry for my future husband - if and when I meet him! :rotfl2:

My first trip to WDW was Aug 2006. Up to that point I had NO desire what-so-ever in ever going. Matter of fact I didn't even raise my kids on the thought of going to disney. We didn't have disney characters in the home, we did go see Disney movies but that was about the extent of it. NOW...thanks to my girlfriend in Portland OR ... I am totally HOOKED on Walt Disney World. I have been many times since last year and am looking forward to going many more times (I live 1 1/2 hrs southeast of WDW).

I have always loved Disney, but it wasnt until last year I became Disney crazy. I guess I would be considered a disney lifer, but a late blooming nut.

I have always loved the classic Disney movies, when I had my daughter I then loved it even more. Our first trip to Disney was when my daughter was 7 years old and I was 29 years old. Now 42, I love it even more!

I have to say that even though DS6 is excited about our coming trip, I have surpassed him in the totally excited, can hardly stay in my seat, counting down every day, thrill of it all. I still have nightmares that he will wake up one day and say, "Mom, that stuff is so lame." Oh, the horror!!!!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Remember: It doesn't matter when you got here; we're just glad you are!

I'm a lifer too....

My parents took me to Disneyland a lot when I was a kid. We lived in southern CA, and my grandparents lived pretty close to DL. Whenever we would go see them we would go see Mickey too!

Then when I was in elementary school my family moved to SD and we didn't get to go for a while. My family took 2 trips to WDW in the years following, but they were way too far apart IMO! I wanted to go every year! Unfortunately, when you're in high school you can't really plan your own vacations. Now that I'm married and on my own I can go to WDW any time I want!! (As long as I can afford it!)

I'm a lifer too, ever since I got my first pair of Mickey Ears back in the 1950's.
I still remember getting up one day and there they were sitting on a chair. :Pinkbounc Of, course ds is also a lifer, and now we are working on turning his dgf into a Disney addict too. :rotfl2:

Pretty close to the same here.

I'm a lifer, but only recently joined the lime green cult. :worship: ::MickeyMo

We did about 6-7 trips in the seventies and early eighties including the first year of Epcot's operation. Probably only one trip in the 90's. Now that I've got kids, we've taken three trips with them since 2003. We've got a trip planned for December, just DW and me for our anniversary, and another for July, 2007 with the whole family.

I have always loved Disney movies, and grew up watching Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights... but NEVER until I was 45 years old did I set foot on Disney property (other than a Disney store!!!)

DD6 (at the time) and I set foot in Magic Kingdom for our first ever time in March 2003, and we moved to Orlando three months later. At that point Disney was a plus, but wasn't the MAIN reason. I just loved the area!

So I am a LATE BLOOMER!

I'm a lifer. I was hooked from the first LP album that I had with Disney songs on it as a kid of 4. I can remember singing Supercalifragilistic Expealidocious (sp?) in my bedroom. I just couldn't afford to go nor did I have someone to go with me until I met DH, so for us, it has been our magical place.

I'm a lifer too! I saved my pennies as a kid and whenever anyone asked what I was doing it was "going to Disneyland!" I sat with my albums and record player for hours as a little kid. I love all things Disney!

I am a lifer. My parents have taken me and my four siblings since we were all young young. Grew up on the disney channel when it was good, watched every single Disney movie and loved going to Disneyworld. Although I did go through a stage from 5th grade til about high school where I would not wear a disney t-shirt, although I have always worn Disney watches. However, at the age of 25 and while in law school I wear a Mickey Ringer at least once a week, and have several other shirts. I think I love going to Disney more now than I ever have...Disney Rules!

I am a late, very late, bloomer.

My family was always too poor to do disney. In fact, I am a huge fan of Bugs and Daffy, since that is what I was raised on. Oh yeah, Woody Woodpecker and me go way back to. My family never had Disney stuff around or had me watch Disney movies.

Anyway, before my wife and I got married we were talking about where to go on our honeymoon. I wanted to go to Chicago and go museum and show trippin. She wanted to go to Disney. I did not want to go at all, so we settled on Chicago. She was a little dissapointed.

One night while talking to my father I told him the story, he told me I was stupid and as a husband I need to do what I can to make her happy. So, we went to Disney. It was my wife (and my dad) who got me hooked on going to Disney. I still can't name all 7 of the dwarves, and I was convinced that the girl in Peter Pan was Mary Poppins since she can fly when she grew up, but I am maing up for the lost time.

LIFER without a doubt. I was born in 1971 and guess when my first trip was?? Before they were even open. My Mom said we drove up to it (as close as we could get) and all we could see were some topiaries on the grounds. We went back shortly after they opened (of course I don't remember any of it) and went back twice a year every year until my grandfather passed away and my grandmother moved back to NC with us. I went back in 1999 and again last year and now we are going back in 108 days. Not that I'm counting or anything.

Lifer here. I started going when I was two back in 1976. Went pretty much every year or every other year after that. Got married and took my wife there. She is now hooked as well. And we are raising our kids as lifers and they don't seem to mind it at all.

I have to say, like others, as I am getting older I am enjoying Disney in a whole new way. Once we took our DD for her first trip, Disney completely changed for me. Now, I visit WDW through our kids eyes. I see why my parents liked it so much.

A lifer here!!!!I remember watching The Wonderful World Of Disney as small child. My parents took us to WDW every year starting when I was in the third grade and ending when I went to college. I picked it up from there and found ways to get there on my own. Went to WDW for my Honeymoon and turned my Hubby into a Disney freak. I am now a DVC member and raising two little "lifers".

It was great when I finaly had small children, because I can now use THEM as the reason why we have some many Disney movies, stuffed animals, pins, WDW vacations, etc.

"The kids like it" :rotfl2:

I'm a lifer! I've always loved Disney! Growing up, I could only dream of actually going to WDW! Now, I can afford to go and do go!

I love the part in 100Haunt's trip report where she says her daughter and everyone allows themselves to be "lighter" in WDW. It's so true! We all can let the child come out!

Lifetime Disney Fanatic.
I've been watching Disney classics since before I could speak. 101 Dalmations, Pinnochio & Cinderella were favorites as a kid. Almost every movie I have is Disney.
I went to Disney for the first time two years ago, which was amazing, because it had been years of dreaming of that place, I had a picture to match the name. I had memories to last a lifetime.
& I adore the Disney cruises.

I'm a lifer. Always would be home even as a teen to watch the wonderful world of Disney on Sundays. Before kids we were collecting vhs and DVD of all the movies that came out. Also we collect the books. We didn't have kids yet and saw the lion king, Nemo and others in the movie theater. My kids have all of the DVD’s which is sad because they have move movies than us. Also my kids started out in the womb loving Disney. We would watch a DVD and read to them Disney stories before bed. My oldest started out with Pooh, Tigger, Buzz, and now loves all Mickey since we went to wdw last year. He is only 2 1/2 and pick out his fall clothing all have either Mickey or buzz. I can't wait to surprise them for their 2nd & 4th birthday next year.
