I ususally don't post non-Disney but this DISCON group has been like listening and talking to family. I just lost my Mother this evening. Her name was Anna and she died of complications dut to Alzheimer's Disease. She was 79 years old, but was sick for 11 years and in the nursing home for 4 years and 7 months. Our last girls only trip to WDW was in 1986 and I cherish the memories. Today when I sat at her bedside I brought along a Sully Monsters Inc keychain ( the one that buzzes) and put it in her hand for her to feel. I guess it was my DIS way of saying "it's ok MOM". Thanks for listening.

You and your family are in my thoughts Michele. You sound liike a wonderful daughter who stood by her mother all these years while dealing with a very debilitating, devasting disease. God has a special place in heaven for angels like you.

Your precious memories of your mother will help carry you thru. You and your loved ones will be in my prayers at this most difficult time. Knowing that your mother also shares your wonderful memories of Disney tells me that putting the keychain in her hand was a beautiful reminder to her about her WDW trip with her girls. So precious and thoughtful of you.
God Bless.

Mother
A mother makes a difference
In so many lovely ways,
In the echo of her wise advice
And gentle words of praise,
In the sense of family closeness
And belonging that she gives,
In the beautiful example
Of the caring life she lives.
A mother makes a difference
In the way she loves us so ~
In ways that others see....
And ways that only we can know

Michelle, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. It's so hard to see a parent become ill. There really are no words that can take away your pain. But, hope you can find some comfort in the fact that she is now at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

My prayers and sympathies are with you and your family and {{hugs}} too.
Just remember all the good times you shared and also remember to think that your mother is at peace in a better place and is no longer suffering from the illness that took these last precious years.
I suffered through losing my dear sister to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) as she suffered through several years with this debilitating disease and I feel your pain. I wouldn't wish anyone to suffer from either illness as one robs your mind and leaves your body whole and the other robs your body and strength and leaves your mind whole so you are fully aware of what is happening. God bless you.

I too lost my mother, just a little over one year ago (right after the 2000 Disneyana convention), also to complications of dementia. It was a difficult time for me (and it still is). Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Our condolences, Lee and Mary

Michele, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
I understand how special your memories of WDW are. My Mom is 76 and nearly died 2
years ago. I am the only child, and it is just her and I. I treasure every moment I have with her. Her and I are making as many trips to WDW as we can, because I know that they are
memories I will have forever. However, each trip is a little sad for me because I am fearful that it will be our last.
If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I enjoyed meeting you at the convention.
Sharon
Michele and Milton:
Jack and I too send prayers to you and your family. Losing a Mother is one of life's hardest moments. Hold on to those special memories. They will live on with you for the rest of your life.
All our love,
Jack and Mary Jo

Michele, so sorry to hear of your mom's passing, but it was a release for both her and you. What a touching little thought you did with Sully. Again, my condolences.
