Everyone bear with me this is my first review of any kind.

So we arrive! This is the moment I’ve been waiting for, for months, ok years! I wait in line to check in and I’m in luck the rooms ready! We walk down and see our room, a beautiful corner room with a water view! Yesss, we’ve been upgraded! NOO It’s a King room, I’m not sleeping in the same bed with my mother. I love my mother but not that much. So we trek back to the lobby and I’m in line again. We get our room changed but it’s not ready, that’s ok, we’ll wait, plus we’re starving.
We were on the free dining plan and I planned every counter service, table service, and snack to a tee. But, we’re starving so that planned snack is not going to happen. We enter Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory and we decide we’ll pay out of pocket for some counter service. I used my Disney reward dollars to purchase refillable mugs and we fill them up right away. I order my meal and I decide on chicken fingers and fries, my old standby. My mom chooses the chicken parmesan. Once we find a table I begin to take some pictures of the food, and so it begins, I received strange look number one. People really think you’re crazy when you photograph your food!
I will rate counter service meals under three headings service, size, and quality.

SERVICE: The service we both received was good; the lines for the food service as well as the cashier were quick and painless.

SIZE: The size of the chicken fingers were large and there were plenty of fries. My mother thought her chicken parmesan could have been bigger but the amount of pasta was perfect.

QUALITY: The chicken fingers were very good and freshly prepared. The fries were also fresh and warm but a bit too salty for my taste.
The chicken parmesan was good, my mother enjoyed the sauce, and we’re Italian! The bread that accompanied the dish was soggy on one side and crunchy on the other, ick!

The breakdown:
Chicken Finger basket: $7.13 <including tax>

And the Stomach Saga begins...
I don’t know if it was the excitement of being in Disney, the anxiety of being in Disney, or a true stomach bug, but I don’t feel right. We decided to wait by the pool until our room was ready. It’s was finally ready around 3 and we moved in without a hitch. At this point I wasn’t hungry for dinner but my mom was. We walked the path to Port Orleans Riverside, and decided to eat at the Riverside Mill food court.
http://images1.snapfish.com/34794396%3A%7Ffp354%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C998356nu0mrj
Nothing was appealing to me so I decided to use my first snack credit for a container of celery and carrot sticks. My mother jumped on the DDP bandwagon and decided to use her snack credit as well, but for a side salad.
We arrived to our table and began to eat. The celery and carrots did it for me but my mom was still hungry. My mom returned to the food area and ordered a piece of apple pie and a container of celery and carrot sticks for her, and a brownie for me. Thanks mom, my stomach hurts and you get me a brownie! As my mother convinces herself that she’s eating fruit and vegetables for dinner and chows down, I attempted to eat the brownie and it wasn’t happening.

SERVICE: There were no lines at the food or cashier areas, with the exception of the baked goods area. The cast members were very knowledgeable of the DDP and friendly! I was even allowed to swap my ranch dressing for French.

SIZE: For a snack credit the portions were large. The brownie was normal brownie size, nothing to write home about, and the apple pie was large.

Quality: The vegetables were fresh and washed. The apple pie was very good and cinnamon-y, yes we made up an adjective. The brownie was cake-like and very rich.

The breakdown:

Carrots and Celery :$3.69 (Snack Credit)

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments and encouragement, you’ve inspired me to update sooner than I thought.

Ok so today is Magic Kingdom day! I could barely sleep so I was already up when Mickey called for our 6am wake up. I jump in the shower and, BAM it hits me those stomach issues did not go away ahhh! I don’t care nothing could make me skip the Magic Kingdom, we’re going.
I volunteered to run down to the food court while my mom was getting ready and get some breakfast. I’m not so hungry so I decided I’d eat my brownie from the night before. I got to the food court and it’s so empty I loved it, I snapped a ton of pictures!
http://images1.snapfish.com/347949382%7Ffp358%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3A% 3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C99%3A94%3Anu0mrj http://images1.snapfish.com/347949382%7Ffp352%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3A% 3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C99835%3Bnu0mrj

I got my mom a cheese Danish, filled up our mugs, and returned to the room. My mom ate her Danish and I shoved down my brownie, anything for the Magic Kingdom.

SERVICE: The place was so empty, I received wonderful service. I asked about their snack options, and was told almost everything in the pastry case counted as a snack, yay!
SIZE: The cheese danish was large enough to be eaten for breakfast.

QUALITY: the danish was freshly made and the cheese was very creamy.

Breakdown:

Cheese Danish: $2.55 (1 Snack Credit)

Awesome job on the reviews. I am waiting to hear if your stomach got better.
I have learned from the past to watch what I eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner. I normally don't eat rich, creamy foods and twice my stomach was in "knots".

One question in regards to the snack credits. Are all the snacks in one area or are they labeled individually so you know it's for a snack credit? Thanks we arrive at AKL Monday and cannot wait for 8 magical days! :)

Most of the snack credit items were in bins or cases labeled snack option.
There were some things not labeled, so I just asked, the cast members were very helpful.

And we’re off; we arrived at Magic Kingdom and were pleasantly surprised with magical beginnings. I’m no toddler but I still enjoyed riding some of the fantasy land rides early. Everything was going as planned we followed my touring plans until lunch. I was actually hungry!! so we decided on Pinocchio Village Haus.
http://images1.snapfish.com/34796688%3A%7Ffp354%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C96%3A87%3Bnu0mrj
My mom and I both got the plain pizza combo which included a side salad. I got a Mickey rice krispie treat for dessert and my mom got the chocolate cake.
SERVICE: It was about 11:30 so the crowds had not arrived yet, the lines were short and the cast members were friendly and knowledgeable of the DDP.
SIZE: The combo meal was perfect, a nice sized side salad, and a good sized personal pizza. My Mickey Rice Krispie treat was huge, and the chocolate cake was a good size as well.
QUALITY: The food was hot/warm, which I like it shows the food wasn’t sitting out for a while. The sauce on the pizza was delicious and the crust was crunchy but soft, very good. The salad was good, it was more of a field green salad, less iceberg, which my mom loves. I’m not so fond of eating lettuce that looks like leaves. The only other problem with the salad was that the dressing was already on it and there were no other dressing options, the dressing was Italian and very good although. For dessert my mom liked her chocolate cake, it was moist, but she removed the icing because it was so rich and she’s not a big icing person. I was feeling good and didn’t want to stuff myself, so I didn’t eat the rice krispie treat, although it looked great.

I also wanted to add that my mom noticed a weird taste in all of her drinks. We didn't realize until the last day that she did not like the taste of the ice.

AHHHH! I think I’m going to faint! Hurry get me into the Country Bear Jamboree! I thought maybe some AC could cure me but no luck. So we headed back to Port Orleans, before I collapsed. Gosh, I felt worse then ever, nauseous, light-headed, and dizzy. It was not looking so good for our ADR at Crystal Palace tonight. My mother had no problem canceling but I knew there is a surprise waiting for us at the Crystal Palace, and I was not missing it.
After some rest, we headed back out to the Magic Kingdom. We took a leisurely stroll down to the Crystal Palace, because we were early. When we arrived we saw a ton of people waiting, my mother didn’t believe that all the people had ADRs but I assured her they did.
I wait on line to check in and the first words out of the cast member’s mouth were you’re early. Thanks for the newsflash! I thought they would prefer early to late but I didn’t get that impression. All of the cast members were stressed out because their computers were down and I was told that we probably wouldn’t be seated until approximately 15 minutes after our ADR time. So we waited outside of the restaurant, I was not taking the heat so well and my nausea began again. Yes! Our table was ready and it was actually before our ADR time, Yippee!
We were seated and I was pleasantly surprised with streamers and confetti, remember the surprise?http://images1.snapfish.com/347994%3A45%7Ffp357%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C97%3A3%3B4nu0mrj
My mom was totally clueless. The tables were not as close together as I had previously heard, but the booth area is connected throughout each of the tables.
Our waitress arrived and she was pleasant, took out drink orders and explained about the characters and the buffet. My mother and I hit the buffet. I was not that hungry, or feeling that well, so I filled my plate with my favorite meal, mashed potatoes, turkey and some greens. My mom started off with some pasta and regular salad. We took a few more trips, I stuck with the same stuff but my mom was more adventurous.
It was the end of the meal and we were stuffed! I kept looking around for the “surprise” but it was no where. Finally our waitress walked out with a cupcake and a birthday card! NOO! It’s isn’t anyone’s birthday, and the expensive cake I ordered better be bigger than a cupcake! My mom was even more confused at this point, and I sent the waitress back into the kitchen for the correct cake. Finally she brought out the cake for my mother. I got my mom a cake to say thank you for bringing me on the trip, my mom was really touched but…really full. I was sick so it didn’t look like this cake was going to get eaten. My mom forced down a sliver while I begged people at other tables to take a piece! Our waitress aloud us to store our cake in the refrigerator, which was wonderful because it would have been impossible to carry through the park.
Over all our meal was good, I wish I wasn’t sick and I could try more. I did although observe that a lot of the dishes were kind of unusual. This is good for the more adventurous eater, but for someone as picky as I, there weren’t many options, with the exception of pooh’s corner!

SERVICE: Our waitress was very friendly. She explained everything thoroughly and was very quick to bring a refill or clear our plates. She also apologized profusely about the cake mistake; I was forgiving especially because the computer was down.

SIZE: Because it’s a buffet you can have as much as you want, my only complaint is the limited selection for picky eaters.

QUALITY: The food was fresh and warm. Everything I tried was delicious. Some items on the kid’s buffet seemed to sit longer then on the regular buffet. My mom’s favorite dish on the buffet was the shredded pork, mine was the mashed potatoes.

CHARACTER INTERACTION: The characters were wonderful, They came around in a timely manner and were spaced out well. During dinner each character visited more then once. Also the characters had a short parade and song with the children.

Great reviews...can't wait to hear more! I hope you got to feeling better on the trip. The last time we went my husband woke up very sick on MK morning & I just prayed that he would get better fast. I felt so selfish...I just kept thinking that we weren't going to be able to go to the park. He threw up several times early that morning & then was well by late in the morning. I was so relieved! Isn't that everyone's biggest fear...planning a trip for months and months & then some sickness or accident keeping you from enjoying yourself!!!
Keep up the good work!

Ok I’m back, Sorry about the delay.

So today was our planned Epcot day, I was very excited because I love Epcot. I really enjoy taking a leisurely stroll through world showcase and some of my favorite rides are in future world. I even talked my mom into going on Test Track with me. But, it’s not looking so good, I feel worse then ever. We even talk about skipping Epcot all together and staying in the room all day. I feel terrible, I’ve taken so much time to plan this trip and now it’s ruined.
My mom and I decided that we would relax for a while and play it by ear. My mom took a walk down to the food court while I rested. She wanted to use one counter service for breakfast, I told her to use mine because food was the last thing I could think of.
When my mom returned she said the food court was packed, but the service was good. She enjoyed the King Creole breakfast platter. Since she ate it at the food court I don’t have a picture of it, and I will not write a complete review. My breakfast on the other hand were some delicious Zesta crackers, they were the only thing I could keep down. I will do a full review on my Zesta crackers!

The crackers in my stomach allowed me to take some medicine. Once the medicine got to work, we decided to try to go to Epcot. And we were off!

SERVICE: Great, Since it was breakfast the crackers weren’t out. My mom asked a cast member and they happily got some for her.

SIZE: Typical, square sized cracker!

QUALITY: Great, crunchy goodness. The only thing that was appealing to me at the time.

After a woozy bus ride to Epcot we arrive! We explore Future World, with no lines, but skip the rides I think may upset my stomach. After Future World, we walk over to my favorite World Showcase! I finally think I can handle a snack and want to use up some credits I’d been collecting so I go to a cart and buy some popcorn. I forgot to take a picture of the popcorn but it was buttery and delicious and I kept it down so it was wonderful to me. We continued around the countries and I started to feel progressively worse  My mom decided that I needed something refreshing so I went and spent another snack credit and got an Itsakadozie! It was delicious and it was just the thing I needed, I recharged and moved on! Around France my Mom heard a rumbly in her tumbly, so we stopped at Boulangerie Patisserie and my mom got and enjoyed a raisin pastry and cappuccino.

SERVICE: All of the quick service carts were exactly that quick! Cast members were friendly and helpful. The line in Boulangerie Patisserie was very long and the entire place seemed disorganized, it may have just been a bad day.

SIZE: The popcorn was huge for just a snack credit. The itsakodozie was ok but I would have rather used the credit for something more substantial. The pastry was large and the cappuccino was average sized.

QUALITY: The popcorn was good and warm, it did not seem as though it was sitting all day. The itsakodozie was good perfect consistency. The raisin swirl (Just found the receipt) was delicious and my mom really enjoyed it. The Cappuccino was just ok.

Breakdown:

Popcorn:$3.00 (1 snack credit)

I know how disappointing it is when you are sick at Disney. My mom was sick the entire trip and only made it out of her room to the parks once. It was her first trip with her grandkids to see them at Disney and missed it all :sad2: . We are hoping for a do over with them in 2009. Hope things start looking up for your trip, glad you were at least able to enjoy some of it.

OK, OK, I have to post to this thread because I am hooked now! I also feel your pain. I got sick on my engagement trip. I threw up right before we went to dinner at Le Cellier. My husband had planned to do the whole ring in the glass of champagne thing but I was too sick to even want any. Well he found another way to give it to me but was bummed because he knows I am a sucker for cheezy, romantic stuff.

We were enjoying ourselves walking through the shops in World Showcase, I attempted to buy something from every country. I still was not right and began to get progressively worse. My mom and I contemplated canceling our ADR for Alfredo’s, my mom decided to just walk over to Alfredo’s to see if they had an early ADR. We were in luck they had a 3:30 ADR available, how wonderful! So we decided to bump up our dinner and see if I would be able to eat anything.

We still had some time to kill before our ADR so we headed over to Maelstrom, FYI: This was our longest wait of our entire trip, 30mins! Now you know why it’s a fastpass hahaha! After the Cool Maelstrom ride I began to feel a bit better. We took a leisurely stroll back to Italy for our early dinner.

http://images1.snapfish.com/347%3C36369%7Ffp348%3Enu%3D3268%3E3%3C%3A%3E7%3C%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D3233%3A8%3C9%3A8534nu0mrj

We were seated promptly even though there was quite a crowd. Our adorable waiter Andrea came to our table to greet us; he looked like one of Cinderella’s mice. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the DDP. He took our drink orders first and return quickly with our drinks. When he returned he asked if we were ready to order our appetizers and we did. I ordered the Caesar salad which was amazing, even with a belly ache! My mom got the Misto di Insalate dell 'Orto - a salad of wild greens with sweet grape tomatoes and our Italian raspberry vinaigrette dressing, she enjoyed this as well. We ordered our entrees and they arrived just as we were finishing our salads. I ordered the lasagna which was very good and consisted of laid out noodles instead of the normal square lasagna. My mom got the Tagliolini Alla Vodka con Gamberoni - homemade tagliolini pasta in a tomato, cream and pepper-infused vodka sauce served with shrimp, she thought it was good but could not finish it because she was stuffed. Even though we didn’t finish our entrees we couldn’t pass up dessert. My mom convinced me into ordered Andrea’s suggest dessert, the sampler dish for two. This dessert contained chocolate cake, which I loved, chocolate mouse which my mom ate and enjoyed, and some type of flan like dessert that my mom ate as well. The dessert also had a cannoli, and my mom and I both don’t like cannolis so it went untouched.

SERVICE: The service was wonderful. We could have done without Andrea saying Perfecto! After every selection we made, but that was minor. He was knowledgeable of the DDP and made suggestions that were helpful. Also other servers helped Andrea clear our table or bring drink refills if he was busy. The hostess was also wonderful for allowing us to change our ADR at such little notice!

SIZE: The portions were huge and very satisfying! We didn’t finish each course in order to save room for the following item.

QUALITY: I’ve eaten American Italian food as well as Italian Italian food and can confidently say that Alfredo’s has blended the two together wonderfully! P.S. If you’re ever at Alfredo’s get the Caesar salad it has bits of bacon and it is so delicious.

Yay I’m actually going to finish this review!

It’s our last day :sad2: . But I feel better :cool1:.
We had an ADR for a late breakfast/brunch at 1900 Park Fare. The wait was a little long but I didn’t mind because we were watching all of the children meet Mary Poppins for the first time. We finally are seated and are met by our pleasant server, she instructs us to help ourselves to the buffet and we were off.

Even though I was feeling better I didn’t want to overdo it. I tried all the regulars’ eggs, bacon, potatoes (from the children’s buffet), Mickey waffle, and assorted pastries. Ok well maybe I did over do it haha! But I felt better and wanted to celebrate!

My only complaint about 1900 Park Fare was the character interaction. Their pattern of viewing tables must have gotten messed up. Many tables had eaten their entire breakfast and not seen one character. For us we met with tigger first, then finished our meal, and the rest of the characters bombarded us at the end. Hopefully it was just an off day and they got it all fixed after we left.

SERVICE: Our server was pleasant but didn’t go above and beyond to help us. At times I felt I was bothering her by asking for some more juice or coffee.

SIZE: Well it’s a buffet so it’s all you care to eat, and the food was restocked quickly. I did find the selection to be quite blah and I just kept getting the same thing every time I went up to the buffet.

QUALITY: The food was fresh and hot, with the exception of the children’s buffet. The food on the children’s buffet seemed a little greasy as it had been sitting for a bit.

CHARACTER INTERACTION: Poor at best. It was so sad to see so many disappointed children. I do believe the wait to get into the restaurant was because of the poor character interaction, because many people were waiting for characters after their meals were finished.

Breakdown:

Adult Buffet: $18.99

Awesome dining review. Really enjoyed reading it. Love that you had pictures for pretty much everything including the food court items as no one ever seems to post things from there. :)
