I have just trawled through the huge thread on the Disney restaurants board and i am still confused. :confused3

Hopefully someone here may be able to help.

The day after we land in Orlando is my sons 4th birthday. We have an ADR for breakfast at Cape May Cafe but decided it would be too early to have his birthday cake then. We are then doing the Family Magic Tour at MK and spending the evening at MGM. We have an ADR for the Sci-Fi Dine-in so my cars mad little boy can eat his birthday dinner in a car which will really make his day!

I cannot get a straight answer regarding the birthday cake. Am i allowed to buy a cake at Publix and take it to the Sci-Fi? I had heard they were nicer and better value from Publix. If i am not allowed how do i go about getting a custom made cake for him to have at our meal?
Can i order one from the Boardwalk Bakery to be delivered to the Sci-Fi? I don't want one of the standard cakes, i was hoping really for a cake with the characters from Cars on it.

Sorry for the long post but i am going round and round in circles and we leave in 28 days! :hourglass

Thanks for any help. :goodvibes

I can't answer most of your questions, but the last time we were there we took a friend to AKL and had dinner in Boma. We mentioned in passing that it was his birthday to our waitress and had a huge, decorated cake brought out.

I'm sure they'll do anything they can to help. I've never had anything but excellent service in the Disney restaurants.

You will not be allowed to bring in a cake that you have brought elsewhere.

On this thread there is a telephone number for Sci-fi http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219 where you can order a cake with your dinner. Also includes sizes/prices.

I believe that the Boardwalk Bakery will not deliver to Sci- Fi.

Give them a call and talk about what you want they will tell you if they can do it :)

If you go to guest services at your hotel as soon as you check in, i'm sure they would order one for you,
This is what we plan to do for my fathers b/day :)
