So, last night at about 12:30AM...Cat (Loves Disney) and I decided we needed to take a trip to WDW, NOW. Seeing as we are both young, and spontaneous, but also not STUPID...we began planning our trip this week to Disney...the one that of course, would never be taken, but would be imagined.
So...first we decided to stay at the Grand Floridian...DUH! If you're going to put two GF fanatic together...just take a GUESS at where they are going to stay! We actually only live within an hour or hour and a half of each other, so we would fly out of Providence at 8:10AM. Meaning we need a limo to get there an hour early (sayyy...7AM). Give it about two hours to get there...two hours to her house, then an hour to my house, then an hour to PVD. So she gets picked up at 5AM, I get picked up at 6, we make the airport for 7.
This is our Lincoln Towncar!

Time to check in!

That is TF in the morning! Check in, and board by 7:40. We get pre-board of course, b/c...we're just awesome like that.
Here is our airplane!

Saying hi from Walt Disney World in my imagination! lol
Princess Ash, that was awesome lol. :rotfl2:
Also, we found a great deal with the Magic Your Way package. The cost was cheap and included park hopper and dining plan.
So we arrived at Orlando International Airport at around 10:40 a.m. The flight was very smooth and the landing was not Soooo bad.

Princess Ash and I claimed baggage and found our limo patiently waiting to take us to the Grand Floridian (we sooo wanted to arrive at the Grand Floridian in a stretch limo...oh yeah! lol) We were pumped!! :rotfl:
We finally arrived at the Grand Floridian and immediately checked into our room. We decided to go with Lagoon View because you simply can't beat a view of the castle and electric water pagent lol.

So...since Cat was exhausted from our trip, we decided to take a little walk down to the beach area and chill for a short while. I went to the edge of the water, and she sat in the hammock. No sooner had five minutes gone by, I turned around, and Cat was passed out cold, snoozing peacefully beneath palm trees in a true paradise.
http://z.about.com/d/hotels/1/0/Z/6/gf20.jpg
(The hammock is just off to the left side of the picture...that's some random person!)
So suddenly, I had an idea...I headed for the beautiful main building to the front desk...
http://z.about.com/d/hotels/1/0/O/6/gf09.jpg
The conversation went something like this.
"Welcome to the Grand Floridian, how many I help you Miss?"
"Hi there! My friend and I came here sort of on a whim...it's our final celebration of the end of our summers. At the same time, she is beginning her final year of high school (how exciting!) and I am beginning my first year of college (how scary and exciting!). I was wondering if you could do anything special for us? Perhaps a complimentary upgrade to concierge?"
"My my, that is pretty special, just hold on one moment please."
He dialed the phone, explained the situation to the third party, grunted a bit, said yes, yes, no, and thank you, and hung up.
"Well miss, I'm sorry to say that all the rooms in the Sugar Loaf (concierge) building are filled up for the week. However, we would like to do something special for you and your friend. Therefore, if you bring us your room keys, we can give you new ones, with access to the concierge lounge in both the Sugar Loaf building, and here in the main building."
LUCKILY, I had kept both our keys for safe keeping...we agreed to trade them off each day...so I handed them off, waited 10 minutes for the exchange, thanked him a million times, and was on my way.
I returned to the beach to find Cat still curled up on the hammock, sleeping soundly...looking like a vision of Sleeping Beauty herself. So, being the "wonderful friend I am", I shook her awake. "CAT!!!!! WAKE UP!" She opened her eyes slowly and said, "Oh jeez, what time is it? Is Magic Kingdom still open? Maybe we can sneak in for Spectromagic! Is tonight an Extra Magic Hours night???" all in a hurried voice. I laughed at her enthusiastic flip out and said...
"No no, but I have good news! I just got us complimentary concierge access!"
She jumped up, ecstatic, and we headed up to the GF lounge for some snacks to reenergize before heading to the parks!

I gathered myself from my grand nap, heh, and realized how early in the day it was still. Princess Ash and myself walked back into the lobby to hear the pianist playing melodically and peacefully creating an enchanting atmosphere filling the GF lobby.
We both walked as if hypnotized by this beautiful sound.
http://www.disneypix.com/Resorts/Grand/2004a/DGF0204-07.jpg
We went out to the pool area. We saw a couple ducks waddle by and the soft, warm Floridian air graced our excited and upilifted bodies. We were just so entranced with the surroundings and the fact that WE were FINALLY back home. This is when it really started to sink in.
The pool was gorgeous, as always. Kept clean and well for the swimmers. Princess Ash and myself headed up to see our room located on the fourth floor of the Boca Chica building. We settled in the room and began fiercly unpacking our luggage.
The view was nice.

After we had our main room set up nicely, we headed over to the concierge building to get some lunch "yum yums" lol. We sat and looked out the window to admire the view from the lobby. Princess Ash ate like a pig!!! My gosh, she sucked in that food like there was no tomorrow! I looked at her amazed and asked, why eat so fast?
She replied, "We are at the Grand Floridian, when I ate the food here, it tastes like I've never actually eaten before." Her words were so true. Disney food is SOOO much better and once tasted, it really does seem as if what you ate before, wasn't actually food! I joined in on her active eating LOL :rotfl:

After finishing my last bit of chocolate chip cookies (I just can't resist those soft, chocolately, homemade GF cookies!), I decided to walk around the concierge floor and the main lobby and take some more pictures. Ones that I could take back and show you guys! Cat went back to the hotel to put on some sneakers so we could begin our excursion to...OBVIOUSLY the Magic Kingdom b/c A)We didn't want to waste time b/c we only had about 5 days, and B)How ELSE would you start your Disney vaca but with a beautiful view of Cinderella's Castle. I told Cat I'd follow her shortly to our beautiful room in the Boca building.
Here are some of the pics I took! (These are real pics from my camera of the GF, btw...not internet ones like all my previous ones).
View from the lounge...A-MA-ZING. I felt like I could just look at it FOREVER!

Princess Ash got to the room and showed me the pictures she took. I quickly took out my camera as well as started snapping picture after picture. Unfortunately, my computer stopped working and so I can't show you guys real pics as well (unless of course you view my signature lol -- those are real pictures lol)
So we put the cameras away for the time being and left the room. We raced to the elevator and then raced to the main building. We just made it to the monorail before it left. However, the monorail car we were in was packed with people.
Princess Ash squeezed between to older guys...no, much older. heh. They were about 50 and 60 years old with long shaggy beards and eyebrows that reached a half an inch in front of them. They wore short shorts exposing their forest-like legs and they bellies hung out of their shirt. One of the guys looked down at Princess Ash and smiled...showing his yellowed teeth and stinky breath. Poor Ash cringed and looked to me with eyes of horror and disgust.
I was seated between a mother and her son (son was with his dad)...about 4 years old. The mother looked weary and tired as she tried to get her daughter, about 1 year old (in a stroller) ready. She was rubbing the child in sunscreen. The little boy started yelling and attempted to cross over me to his mom. His dad tried to pull him back explaining that it was inappropriate to crawl on other people, but the kid didn't listen and yanked free of his dad's grip.
Just then the monorail stopped at the Magic Kingdom. Princess Ash and myself jumped up and got the heck out of there. heh. We walked down the ramp and entered through the turnstiles. We didn't bring any bags so we didn't need anything checked. We headed to Cacey's Corner for lunch.
(Sorry there are no pictures with this one lol)

(Princess Ash can't be on and asked me to continue the reports and that is why I have two in a row, heh. :) )
So we entered "The Chapeau" and walked from there into the candy store, then the old cinema (VMK Central), and then into the store filled with some nice, fragile things, heh.

It was nice to walk through because the air was so hot and humid. We of course had to stop and buy a few things...they always say that down at Disney, always buy it when you see it 'cause you may not ever see it again or go back heh.
Finally we made it to Casey's Corner and we each ordered a grand slam hot dog with fries and soda. I unwrapped my hot dog from its foil wrap and went over to squirt mustard all over it. I pressed the button once and nothing came out. I pressed a second time, though harder, and the mustard came out like a popped water balloon. No longer could the beef be seen...everything was yellow. I grabbed the soaking hot dog, the fries and soda and quickly joined Princess Ash in finding a table.
http://www.arondaparks.com/images/WDW-Dec-04-096-MK-MainStreetCaseysCorner.jpg
We got a table close to the pianist. We both sat down and began to eat our lunch. The pianist started playing the ever popular ragtime classic, "Hold That Tiger". Princess Ash jumped up and ran over to the enthusiastic piano player. Once the song finished, Princess Ash climbed over the white bar separating the pianist from the hungry audience, and took hold of the instrument. She started playing a duet with the guy. Everyone gathered and once finished, everyone applauded.
I looked down at my lunch, and I noticed that I had already finished my fries completely.

I had figured that after playing the piano at the Grand Floridian on my own and with the traveling piano-man on the Boardwalk, I might as well give it a whirl on Main Street. I helped with the ever popular "carnival song," (which I STILL don't know the name of), and then finished off with the Mickey Mouse March. By the time the end of Mickey Mouse March came, Cat had come over behind me, belting at the top of her lungs "M-O-U-SSSS-EEEEE!" I turned and laughed upon seeing yellow mustard all over her face. Disney World, the place where you can act like a COMPLETE dork and NOBODY CARES!!!
So after thanking the piano man for giving me such a wonderful experience, Cat and I walked out to the Walt statue, and took a moment of silence to revere the man who created it all...and the Mouse who began it all. The Castle was breathtaking, with a clear blue sky as a backdrop, trimmed with beautiful golden characters, yet retaining all the beauty of the original structure of the princess we all love...Cinderella.
I immediately took out my camera and began snapping pictures like crazy...here is my favorite one...
http://myspace-341.vo.llnwd.net/01089/14/33/1089153341_l.jpg
Feeling so incredibly happy, yet almost overwhelmed, I shoved my camera into Cat's hands and demanded "Take a picture!"...then thought for a minute and added "Please?"
Here is the result:

(Again, these are REAL pics!!!)
Both taking a deep breath of the hot Florida air (and enjoying every moment of it) we realized that we were sweating to death under the lack of shade. The conversation went as follows:
Ash: I'm sweating.
Cat: Me too!
::Pause, Pause::
Ash + Cat: SPLASH MOUNTAIN!
We immediately headed off in the same direction, both knowing the easiest way to get to Splash Mountain from the Castle is to go through the Adventureland gates, then underneith the passageway to Frontierland, cutting off Liberty Square and coming out near-ish Pecos Bill's, and heading straight towards Splash!
It being late in the afternoon, apparently everyone ELSE had decided to go on Splash too...so we obviously needed Fastpasses. Check...for an hour and a half later. The conversation went as follows.
Ash: I'm still hott.
Cat: Me too.
Ash: Airconditioning?
Cat: No where but the shops...
Ash: Orrrr, the wind...on a train...............
::Pause, Pause::
Ash + Cat: Big Thunder Mountain!!!
We figured out the time would be perfect in between...so off we went to wait in BTM line to enjoy our FIRST RIDE on our imaginary trip to WDW!!!

We got onto the Big Thunder Mountain and sat in the back. It was perfect 'cause we like speed!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSpO-VcyK54
Princess Ash had forgotten to take off her sunglass like the totally cool western dude tells you to do, and so she lost it. When we were going down the spiral, her sunglasses flew off her head (that is where they were rested) and landed on the nose of the guy sitting behind us...he looked so cool in sunglasses...okay, not really but it was amusing.
http://www.geocities.com/straitrose2000/JF_WEARING_SUNGLASSES_01.jpg
The ride ended all too soon and we walked away from it with giant smiles stretching across our faces.
We got to the fastpass return for Splash Mountain. Princess Ash took out her fastpass and showed her the square piece of paper. The cast member nodded and allowed her to proceed. I tried pulling out my FP but couldn't find it anywhere. I assumed I lost it while on BTMRR.
CM: You don't have a FP?
Me: No, I think I lost it.
CM: Then you'll need to get in the stand-by line.
Me: Just hold on, I'll find it.
CM: Hold onto what?
Just then Princess Ash let out a laugh at the CM's comment, and both myself and the CM looked to Princess Ash as if to say, "It wasn't THAT funny" lol. :rotfl:
I never found the FP, but the CM got so annoyed with me that she let us through.

"How do you do, might pleasant meetin'...pretty good sure as you're born...pretty good sure as you're born."
"I am NEVER going on this ride with you EVER again," Cat looked at me mortified as I began the refrain to...
"Everybody's got a laughing place, a laughing place, to go ho ho!"
"Please Brer Fox just throw us into the Briar Patch so I can end my misery of this girl singing!" Cat continued, jabbing me with her elbow in a joking sort of way.
We both screamed as our little log flume pummled down the mountain...I swear we had gone the fastest yet!!!
http://www.hohpe.com/Gregor/Travel/2001/Orlando/splash_mountain.jpg
"Zippadee do dah, Zippadee day!"
"Puhhlleeaseee God Spare me!" prayed Cat, "I'd rather go on It's a Small World 10OX over before listening to Ash sing this entire ride EVER again!"
"That can be arranged..." I grinned. So it was off to Fantasyland...Fastpass for Peter Pan's ride (TWO HOURS LATER...WHAT???)
http://www.pansophist.com/fantpeter.jpg
A round of It's a Small World (Cat had to stop me from running around the short 10 minute line to go again...I can't help it, I just love those little singing dolls on the Happiest Voyage that Ever Sailed!!!)
http://www.solarius.com/assets/gallery/wdw/mk/wdw_small_world1.jpg
And then...it was off to one of my most favorite things in Disney...something that makes me cry from the pure magic of what I grew up with...Mickey's Philharmagic...

After we visited Phillar Magic, we decided to head back to the resort and get things squared away. We wanted to make sure our reservations were in order and we wanted to order a refrigerator to put in our room.
We hopped back onto the monorail (this time we were alone, heh.) and arrived back to the Grand Floridian. The lovely smell reached to us as the automatic doors opened.
We went back to the room and Princess Ash called room service for the fridge and I decided to head back to the conceirge counter to solidify reservations.
Once I left, Princess Ash laid down on the bed and fell asleep.
So I walked by the pool and into the main building. I stopped in front of the Grand Floridian Cafe, however, interested in what I saw. There in front of me were ducklings..two fuzzy baby ducklings. They had obviously been separated from their mommy and I felt heart-broken. Just then, a CM entered through the door with a duck on a leash...the ducklings went close the duck and the CM walked the duck out with the ducklings following. I watched as the CM took the leash off and the ducks walked away happily.
Back at the room, Princess Ash was still sound asleep. Room service arrived at the door and knocked several times. With no answer, the guy with the fridge opened the door. He came, saw Ash sleeping, put the fridge down, and decided to dress the room up as if it was night. He closed the blinds, opened the TV up and put it on the Disney parks channel. He laid chocolates next to her and turned down my bed. He giggled for a bit at the sight, and proceeded out the door.
I finally got to the counter and politely asked if our reservation for "Hoop-Dee-Doo-Revue" were all set. Princess Ash hadn't seen the show at Fort Wilderness yet, so I thought I give her that chance to see it.
