Hopper pass option question

We are planning a trip in January and want to purchase the 7 day hopper passes. I keep reading about the options and I'm hoping someone can clear up my confusion. Do the options have to be used on the same 7 days as you use the park admissions? Or are they in addition to them? For example, could I visit MK for seven days straight and then on the eighth day go to a waterpark?

You can use the options days in addition to the 7 park days. If you buy the US pass, extra days don't expire. If you purchase the current Canadian special, any unused days will expire in May.

It is great because you get 7 park days PLUS 4 options so that's 11 days of Disney! We had the Canadian deal last year and used all 7 days and only 3 options in our 7 Disney day trip. We doubled up days by doing BB and TL twice while stile going to the parks on the same days. I love this pass. We hopped all over the parks! In our 7 days at Disney we went to:
MK 4 times
MGM 2 times
EPCOT 2 times
AK once
BB once
TL 2 times!

We like this pass. dh likes that it expires so it makes us use all the days at the parks, we feel LUXURIOUS! It saves us $235.00 too! We pay full child price for 8 yo dd but ds is not yet 2 yo and he is FREE! It will cost us $1084.00 and that's all incl. with a char meal!
