We're heading down to Disney for the first time August 31 - September 6. It's my mom, dad, me (32) and my 3yo. I've already made reservations one night for my parents to have a little alone time, but I've told my mom I might like to go out one night as well. Is there anywhere to go just to get a drink where there may be some adults up for some adult conversation - LOL! I'm not into the club scene. I've been separated for about 2 years and haven't jumped back into the dating scene - but it would be nice to just go out and kick back one evening for a drink. Where are the places to go for that? We're staying at CSR.

I've traveled solo sometimes and I have NO problem going to Jellyrolls by myself. I've gotten to know a couple of bartenders & bouncers there and any time I might feel "uncomfortable" (only happened 1x) I just head to the bar to talk. I've also met a few DISers there!!!

HTH!!! :teeth:

Adventurer's Club at PI would be a good bet. There is interactive entertainment, so you won't feel bored or out of place, and it's very easy to strike up a conversation with someone (the bric-a-brac on the wall invites it).

CSR has a lounge (I think) plus there is a pool bar.

you might also consider going to whatever park (if there is one) that has EMH that night.

also you can walk around DD.

go over to the meet board and see if one is planned for your time.

I did JellyRolls by myself in May 2005. I had a great time and ended up hanging out with a large family and there friends. I was lucky enough to meet up with a fellow diser to go to the Adventures club and Jelly Rolls this past May. I would recommend both of these places. I would have to say it would be much easier starting a conversation at the AC as JR can be pretty loud. Have a blast and enjoy your Adult time as I called it when I was there in May.

I am taking a solo trip 8/30-9/3 and will be staying at the Hotel Royal Plaza. I am a 38 yr old Mom who needs a break from kids, activities & housework, so I left hubby home with the kids and I am off on my own for a few days! I was thinking of going out somewhere on fri (9/1) or sat (9/2) to have a drink and have some fun. I am married, but still like to go out and have fun! Maybe we could meet and go out and have some fun one night. :)

I second the the Adverturer's Club! The shows start at about 7pm or so, and go on into the night. Read about it on this website's planning pages. I think you'll have a great time, and you won't feel out of place by yourself.

Have fun!

I would have to agree w/ the other DISers who like Jellyrolls. I went there for the first time during our trip this Jan. I went by myself and I'm a non-drinker so I questioned whether or not I would like it. Well I ended up going back the next 9 nites. The staff and the entertainment are wonderful. I felt completely welcomed eventhough I only drank bottled water. It was packed w/ people about every nite and it was not difficult to strike up a conversation. I had such a good time that I'm going back on New Year's Eve to celebrate my 50th B.D. w/ friends. I can't wait.

I plan on doing Adventurer's club and Jellyrolls on my solo trip in early Dec. There's the big Mousefest that week, but I'm not sure I'd want to go to MVMCP the night they're all going...I think I'll be at Jellyrolls that night!
I'm also probably going to do a monorail drink-a-thon, if I'm not too pooped from my days in the parks.

I would agree strongly with Adventurer's Club but thumbs way down for Jellyrolls. JR is strictly for loud sounds.

Although I like Jellyrolls, I'd personally select Adventurers' Club for a solo evening. It's a quieter environment, interactive with the cast and you don't feel out of place without an alcoholic drink. I've nothing against alcohol--I just can't drink the stuff! LOL

And quite honestly, after a day at the parks, I tend to enjoy a quieter evening now and then! :)
