My DH is trying to plan a very large family reunion, and we are looking for 2 large pool homes either next door or very close to eachother. I have found a few random ones, but I wonder if anyone has done this and has a recommendation? I would prefer Emerald Island or Windsor Hills, but would consider other developments.

Try www.romancingthemouse.com. Mark and Holly have a 4 BR and a 5BR side by side in Windsor Hills. They also have a 4 BR and 6 BR side by side in Windsor Palms. They are lovely homes and lovely owners!
If you do a General Enquiry (is it "E"nquiry, or "I"inquiry ?? I always forget!! :goodvibes ), through any of the rental websites, ie, www.orlandovillas.com for example, put that at the top of the list of requirements.
You'll get tons of replies, some not at all relating to what you want!!;) - regarding two homes next door to each other. If one villa owner doesn't own 2 homes, I know the possibility exists that they know their neighbour next door, and would work together to make that arrangement work for you.
HTH!
And let us knwo what you discover!

Allstar vacation homes has a bunch of adjacent houses. I was looking into it for our gymnastics team and they can house over 40 people in adjacent houses.

We rented 2 eight bedroom houses in Emerald Island this summer - Biscayne 1 and Biscayne 2. They are side by side. Rented from Aplusvacations.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. A DISer also wrote me who owns a beautiful vacation home in Emerald Island, the Bonita, and knows neighbors we could also rent from. I am glad there are these options b/c we likely need at least 2 homes, and I don't want to be far apart.
