We're staying off-site when we go to WDW in September and have narrowed our hotel choices to 2 -- either Comfort Suites Maingate or Comfort Suites Maingate East. Anyone have any recommendations or comments on either of these hotels?? Any reviews would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!! :cheer2:

First off I have to tell you that when we arrived it was dark and when we left the next morn it was barely daylight so keep in mind that my view of the actual grounds was somewhat limited, though I have driven past it in the daylight since then.
The rooms are spacious and clean. I will have to say that upon opening our door and flicking on the light, a roach started making a mad dash across the floor. My dh killed it and we never saw another sign of any insects, but it unnerved me. Not sure what your feelings about bugs are. I swear everything else that I viewed in the lobby, room, and bathroom was spotless.
I believe that all the rooms have micowaves and fridges (the larger size of the dorm style) at least our did. The bathroom was HUGE but the sink is in the same room as the bath and toilet so privacy is limited. There is not a true wall between the pullout area and the sleeping area, just a half wall.
The breakfast is standard cereal/yogurt/starch/fruit fare, but it's free. We did not use the pool area so I cant comment on that.
Besides the roach my biggest complaint of this location is its lighting. I did not feel the grounds were adequatly lit and the room interiors are flourescent lit so it gives off that "blue" effect that I disdain.
This location is next door to a shopping complex making it very convenient. If I remember there is a CVS or some other brand super drugstore and a Giordonno's (italian/pizza). Also by using the back entry through Sherbeth Rd. you can be on Disney property in a matter of a couple of minutes.
Not sure what rate you are looking at but by using the "Sam's Club" discount code I can usually reserve Choice Hotels at large savings. The ID # (to be entered on the home reservation page) is 00801650. Hope all this info helps, have a great time.

We have stayed at both locations and greatly preferr the Maingate East hotel. The differences are not large but the Maingate East location is slightly larger, newer and laid out better. I disliked the full length mirror directly opposite the toilet and that their was this huge wardrobe in the room at Maingate. The beds at Maingate also had a plastic lining in the mattress cover that I found uncomfortable. The pools are almost identical but the landscaping is better at the Maingate location. Maingate has exterior walkways and Maingate East has interior corridors. Maingate East is completely non-smoking and west still has smoking optional rooms. The breakfast room at Maingate is way too small. All in all they are reasonably the same except for the rate. Maingate west can be found for around $50. on their own website but East is more expensive. If you have any further quesitons I will be happy to answer.
