Hi there,

We are due to fly out on the 26th and I just recieved a phone call from a Virgin rep in Orlando, she was very polite. She asked me questions about how we were getting from Orlando to our Resort (we booked a car seperately), told us to keep checking the website for updates on the current security issues, as well as offering to book my theme park tickets or shows for me. She ended by offering to send me an email with all the excursions available and if I wanted any she said she would be happy to book them for me.

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever recieved a call like this all the way from Orlando!?! Is this a new service from Virgin as we've booked MANY times with them and never had a call. Either way the woman was very nice almost making it feel like a concierge service.

14 Days to go!!

Using the current situation to turn customer service into sales? That sounds cynical, but that's not exactly what I'm getting at.

That was a sales call.

No because I had my call some weeks ago (regarding my July trip that was cancelled) i.e well before the latest events.

I think it is a new procedure to try to encourage more ticket/trip sales etc as less and less people now go to the welcome meetings. They do also seem genuinly interested in giving advice regarding routes from the airport etc.

It could be that so many people are not going to the welcome meetings they are not able to sell the extra tours and tickets!

I also had one of these calls before my April holiday. We had already bought all our tickets through Virgin so they were wasting their time if they had hoped for another sale.I did find the rep very helpful though offering directions and stuff.

We had one (Kirsten S) last Tuesday. I asked why (naturally suspicious) & was told it is a new thing & that they enjoy it. Yes it was followed by an e-mail with excursions (probably because our trip coincides with a planned shuttle launch & they have a special for that). It was useful as I could ask about the balloon flight (scheduled for our first morning). Tix just said call this no. when you arrive, & I was worried that we'd n be too lat if delayed, well under the current climate I doubt there will be anyone there at midnight+! Rep said they would leave a message for us at the hotel. She also checked our ressie for a crib.
A couple of days after that DH also rec'd a text wishing him a happy holiday!!!
