we are arriving Nov 22 we will be staying off-sire. We are doing AK for Thanksgiving and I don't have any ADRs for that day. (I hope we don't starve :) ). We are checking into the GF on the 26 - December 3. I can't wait. :yay:

Redheaded mama -- You can always do counter service so you won't starve. The BBQ place at AK is really good. If you are thinking you want to do a sit down ...then you might want to see if you can get a ADR ... even a late one. Most of the places, all over WDW, that were sit down were only taking people who had ADRs. We ended up making a couple about 8:30pm at night and we were glad we had them. Just a thought.

Getting closer but this might yet be a tad early to start packing. I know the feeling though as we arrive at POFQ for three days on Thanksgiving Day and then switch over to the YC for eight days. Seems so far away but since it is cooling down to mid 80s here ... I know it is getting closer.

As I read about 'must haves' on this board, the suitcase helps to not forget! I still have some of the little Wisk laundry tablets that I heard about here a few years ago, they're in the suitcase ready to go! :cool2:

We (dd's, ages 9 and 6, and I) have been about 8 times in the last four years, but this will be dh's first "real" Disney vacation with us ( he came for 3 nights about two years ago). I love "girl" trips! We can do princess stuff till we just can't take anymore!!!!!!! I have converted several friends to the "Disney" way of life, so we travel together alot without our hubbys. I am getting so excited! I am excited just to be going to WDW, but to go at the start of the Holidays is extra special! I just wanted to say that you may be suprised at what your daughter may remember. My younger daughter was 2 when she went for the first time and she remembers somethings and when she sees the pictures she recalls even more! Well, I have printed out my mousekeeping envelopes and have started gathering all my paperwork to put in my backpack. I am going to start packing our toiletries (that we don't use everyday) tomorrow. I am so glad I have the DIS, that way my non-Disney friends don't think I am neurotic!!!!!!!

It is funny... more and more of my friends are now "converts". I have been a "Disney Nut" since childhood, so my family is used to my "addiction". My friends are finally realizing how wonderful a trip to the House of Mouse can be. WDW may not be a cheap vacation, but it is worth every penny! I know that we will always have an awsome trip. I can't always say that about our other vacations to the beach or the mountains. The magic of Disney always comes through!

We're staying offsite (it really works better for us these days) and having experienced two holidays last year with WDW, we're spending turkey day offsite too...planning to go minigolfing :) Although if the parks aren't insane we might go ahead in for a while. But this is also our third "big" trip in one year and we're planning on really taking in the ambiance, seeing decorations, making the most of the time without rushing to the lines.

Well, actually, our reservation is from the 22nd to the 29th but our plane won't be arriving at MCO until after midnight :sad2: We had planned to arrive earlier in the evening but the airline delayed the time of our flight. We'll be having our Thanksgiving dinner at Boma on the 23rd.
This will be my first WDW trip with my DD4 3/4 (the 3/4 is very important to her ;) ) and we're going with good friends of ours (another single mom and her DD5). I've been to WDW several times in the past but my DD and our friends have never gone before....and this will be my first time staying on-site and celebrating a holiday at WDW so I'm really excited and looking forward to the trip. :yay:
Just curious....does anyone know of any Thankgiving-themed Disney clip art online? I'm thinking of putting a Happy Thanksgiving sign on our door and would really like to have some Disney characters on the sign but I haven't found any Disney Thanksgiving-themed clip art to use yet.

Our Thanksgiving dinner will be celebrated on Wednesday night at LTT.
On Thanksgiving, we plan on spending the day at MGM, watch the parade, then head over to Boardwalk and catch the 2nd football game that day which is Tampa vs Dallas.
After that we plan to head back to POR and enjoy Piano Man Bob for the evening. This will be our 4th Thanksgiving night with Bob. He starts his XMAS music this night and its a blast. :Pinkbounc

Disneygirl29 -- we will be at POFQ Nov 23-26 moving over to YC on the 26th through Dec 3rd. Perhaps we will run into you? We arrive 3:30pm on Thanksgiving Day and then are hopping over to YC Galley for thanksgiving dinner as Florida is 2 hours ahead of us ... so timing is perfect.
We have stayed at POFQ at least once a year since it opened. We really like it. I used to say I would never move. Alas, in my older age, I am enjoying the queen beds at some of the deluxe hotels and a few of the 'extras' they have to offer such as concierge ..... not that my pocketbook has grown with my desire for bigger, etc. Anyways, I'm sure you will like POFQ.
That is neat that these kids are dancing. Perhaps we will have to wonder over there...do you know what time?

Weather can be all over the board. We haver been there and worn shorts and short sleeve shirts during day and light pants/long sleeve in evening. We have also been there and had to put on our long underwear, gloves, hats and heavy jackets as the windchill dropped it down below freezing. Last year it was very pleasant and we didn't pull out anything heavier than a sweatshirt. Best thing to do is watch the weather as they give you a 10 days out forecast. That said, at WDW, when it gets really cold -- you can't even buy a pair of mittens as they fly off the shelves --- so we always bring our cold stuff with us and plan to dress in layers.

Tonight as my DD10 crossed off another day on the countdown calendar she announced "only 5 more days and a wake up before we leave!" Then I felt the butterflies in my stomach. But the best part was when she jumped up and gave me a big, excited hug! :cloud9:

We check in this Saturday, 11/18 and we're staying until 11/26. Staying at CSR.
I can't believe it's only 4 more days. I've been so busy I haven't had time to come on the boards. I'm up early lurking.

First time with my DH & DD, my first time in over 20 yrs, and I'm just ecstatic! :yay:
Hi there! Not only are we from the same great state, but we'll also be at CSR 11/18 - 11/26. Maybe we'll bump into each other. Have a great time - you haven't been in 20 years???? You'll have a blast.
We're having Turkey Day dinner at Artist Pointe.

Butterflies here as well. My DD is finally getting excited now that it's actually here, and now I'm also excited, yet freaking out a bit thinking that after all the planning, IT'S HERE - I've still got a lot to do!

Yes, Butterflies here as well. We arrive Sunday 11/19 and are
staying until Friday 11/24. We are at CBR. This is our first trip
ever for DH, DD13 & myself. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only
one with butterflies.
