My twin sister just purchased an RV and now wants to camp at Disney (orlando) over Thanksgiving week.
Originally we have reserved a house, but now I might try getting a reservation at a campground in Orlando/Disney or close by.
Can someone PLEASE help me with a campground to call???
THANKS!

We love Disney's campground, Ft. Wilderness. Just call 800-828-0228 to book it.

If you try getting into Disney Ft. Wilderness for Turkey Day, try callinig first thing in the morning every day and you might get lucky and get in...We usually schedule a year in advanced just to be safe because that weekend is very difficult...
stay away from Thousand Trails.....
I have heard that the KOA near Disney is good, but have never camped there myself...

While there are other camp grounds in the area, and I'm sure some of them are nice, if you stay at Fort Wilderness you will have all the benefits of being ON Disney property. You can jump on the Disney busses and boats to get around and they have all kinds of great Disney fun activities. That being said, it may be full already for the Holiday. All you can do is call and ask!

This is another nice place to go to if you can't get into Fort Wilderness which should be your first pick to stay at.

I know a lot of campers have gone to Tropical Palms if they couldn't get into FW and have liked it, but it is no FW. We stayed at the Kissimmee KOA many years ago and liked it, but I think it no longer is at the same location.

As other folks have said, Fort Wilderness (on Disney property) (http://www.popupcamping.info/FWFacts.htm) is the place to go. But, reservations for Thanksgiving may be hard to get. Calling every morning like clockwork will eventually work in most cases.
Now, if you want to check out other campgrounds in the area, see Other Campgrounds in the WDW Area Web Page (http://www.popupcamping.info/WDWArea.htm)

After FW, (of course), I like Tropical Palms. It is reasonably priced and has a nice pool. It is a highly developed campground with cabins they rent.
The campsites are pretty much right on top of each other. This doesn't bother us since we are usually only there in the evening and either in the trailer or up at the pool.
It also is conviently located. It is right by Old Town, which is pretty popular.
Lots of restaraunt choices too. (I love Logan's Roadhouse, which is right across HWY 192 from the road to Tropical Palms.) :thumbsup2
