Hi guys

We are out to WDW/AKL next year - it will be 10 years since we first visited - and honeymooned (at Port Orleans).

We have told our TA that it is our anniversary trip - but wondered if anyone else has been there during a wedding anniversary and if it has been recognised by WDW in some way ( I know that do the birthday badges etc) - any stories or advice welcomed.

Ta

We received a beautiful anniversary card signed by Mickey & Minnie and tied to some balloons, along with a white chocolate Mickey and some tuxedo strawberries. I have pictures/details in my trip report below. :)

I think you should remind them when you check in that the trip is to celebrate a special anniversary.
We did a 17 day trip to celebrate our 25th, POR,AKL, DCL and HRH and although there was a note with these reservations - nothing happened. I wasn`t bothered though, the trip alone was fab!

We celebrated our 20th at POFQ and Poly. We didn't mention anything to anyone but put out our cards on "the day". When we came back later in the day, there was a beautiful card signed by Mickey and Minnie and a really tasteful wooden photograph frame (not like those garish couloured ones with all the characters) engraved with Happy Anniversary. It really made my day.

no, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Dixie Landings as it was in those days, and nothing special was done.

We have had "Happy Anniversary" piped onto our plates in Chocolate before at a few restaurants, but thats about it.

I think with all these things its just luck. Dont expect anything though or you might find youre disappointed..

OOooh.....Interesting thread !
We got married at WDW last year and will be at Saratoga Springs for our first Anniversary in September. Perhaps we need to mention this to someone?? Although I am not so sure we will receive the same treatment over in the DVC resorts?

On our first wedding anniversary we got a signed card from mickey and Minnie along with balloons, a half bottle of champagne (from front desk), some cookies and pretzels (from housekeeping). Along with a lovely room upgrade at WL :)

When we go next year it will our 2 year anniversary form when we got married at Disney. Is there anything specific I can do to ensure that Disney are aware of this???

We were there for our anniversary and my birthday so we had stood all the cards up on the table in the room. When we came back to the room later that day there was a card from Mickey & Minnie along with a really nice photo frame, and then there was a seperate card from housekeeping. It was a really lovely gesture that we really appreciated, and I still have the photo album on display.

We were just there this past Feb for our 30th. We made our ADR's and I mentioned to the CM when I made them that we are celebrating our 30th. When we checked in at the ADR I mentioned it to the CM there and we always were given special treats or some type. From special tables, with wine, deserts, etc. Upon check in I mentioned that it was our 30th celebration and we received a free upgrade to a fountain few, corner room. We only asked for a std room. I made up little poster and put it on our Mirror. Our Mouse keeper made us a set of Love Birds and added stickers to them daily until they were complete in her opinion. We also received little towel things as well. At the castle for dinner we were given Champagne flutes and a certificate as this was our actual date for our 30th. Streamers on table and confetti, overlooking the carousel. It was wonderful. :sunny:

Hope you have a great time :goodvibes

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at WDW this year. We told the CM when we checked in and got a lovely card and balloons from Cinderella and Prince Charming, and a phone message from Mickey and Minnie! I was very tearful!

Also, on our anniversary we went to Guest Relations at Epcot and were given badges to wear. So many people said congratulations to us which was really nice.

This is just the sort of thing I want to do for our 25th Wedding Anniversary holiday celebrations, only trouble is our actual anniversary is on 11th September (not a day the Americans must feel like celebrating anything on)and we will not be in WDW till mid October (due to the childrens school holidays) so I won't have any cards to put out but I am going to mention it is a celebratory holiday and am going to arrange flowers in our room for my DH. I want to be selfish and have a treat myself, like a card or some balloons.

I got married last year at Disney and nothing special happened to us (except the wedding and the honeymoon afterwards!!).

No cards, ballons, special desserts, NOTHING!!!

It was mentioned on our ressies and the hotel would have known because they obviously saw us in our wedding outfits.

I've spoken to others who have celebrated "specials", honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays and like us no pixie dust came their way.

If I was celebrating a special occassion I would organise my own surprises and that way you won't be dissapointed.

Just being at the World is celebration enough for me!!

I totally agree. Even though we have been lucky, I pre-order lots of things too. The Disney Florist are great, and can deliver to the resort room so that the gift is there waiting when you return in the evening. The resort can order certain things too - or, if you are staying concierge - they can get pretty much anything and have it waiting for you upon check-in or place it into your room during your trip.

oh my darn memory! There's a sponsor on here (???Peg??????) who does some wonderful baskets and delivers to on-site hotels. She has a HUUUUGE list of things to choose from (mainly Disney stuff, I think) like candies, cuddly toys etc. I'll have a think and see if I can find her details - unless anyone else knows what I'm blabbering on about!

Just wanted to say that I would highly recommend Peggy, she is a lovely lady and her baskets are wonderful. Here are a couple of pictures of the one she did for me for my DH for our wedding anniversary:

OK at AKL we did get a card and chocolate for my parents anniversary (no balloons as obviously this could be dangerous to the animals) as well as a cake for my brother in laws birthday (stayed there quite a few times now). Its best to remind the hotel at check in and see what happens. Sometimes they give you stuff sometimes they don't. We got a card in POR last year for my brother in laws birthday. Ask and you may recieve. Also I think they do do a 'we're celebrating' pin at guest services (like the birthday ones) but don't quote me on that.

Ok - so after all of your cool advice I decided not to take any chances - so we're now having our vows renewed at Sunset Pointe (Polynesian) - hopefully on the day of our anniversary. I'm just waiting for a call back from their wedding organiser - a crazy moment but should be cool. It will be me, my wife and our two babies - may be a bit weird but heh - its a bit of a dream of ours - we would have got married at WDW if we could have.

Try Feral Peg she can make up a basket with any thing you would like in it. She is a Dis Member, here is her site. She does a great job.

We stayed at the Yacht club for our wedding on 1st march. It was also my birthday the day before (28th Feb).
I stood my cards up, but didn't have anything happen.
Though we did receive a card from Minnie & Mickey, signed with balloons attached to it, and a personal telephone message from the mice themselves. It was lovely.
Its worth mentioning at check in why you are there. You never know.

We got a pleasant suprise as i must have mentioned when making a dining reservation that we would be celebrating our anniversary the same month we went to WDW. When we checked in, it had been noted in our booking, and the next day, we received the signed Minnie and Mickey photo with a lovely message from the special mice. It was a lovely treat to come back to the room to :goodvibes

We got a signed card & balloons from Cinderella & Prince charming on our last trip ... it wasn't our actual anniversary as that is in June (and too hot in Florida for us to visit) but I was so confused when booking that I thought : "oh yeah, the 21st, our wedding anniversary" even though it was May ;)

We got a Happy Anniversary from the front desk on check in and the card on the day itself.
