Well with it being only 18 days till I leave, it finally hit home that it is almost here. I am so looking forward to meeting all of the people I have met on this board and those I have met before.

I am still going through my mind trying to figure out how I am going to cram everything in, and not kill myself...LOL.

I have finally fineshed making all the buttons, and might make a few extra incase someone hasn't been keeping up with the thread. Now all I have to do is get our ornaments for the exchange.

I have a master packing list I use when I travel so I am a very good last minute packer..just get my list out and go :) I am planning on bringing my Digital Camera, Digital Video camera, and my laptop. So I will be able to post a lot of pictures while there and when we come back.

if anyone is interested in some of the trip reports I have done in the past you can go to www.betatesters.com/patinmn .

I am supposed to visit my brother on thanksgiving weekend, but that is kind of up in the air right now as his kids and my SIL are having to fly to England because her mother and grandparents aren't dong real well. I will let you know if I get to Disney any earlier than I had planned.

well enough of my ramblings...see everyone in a few weeks

When do you arrive. Pat? And where are you staying?

We arrive on the 23rd, staying at Grosvenors for one night then moving to BWV on the 24th.

I am getting really excited now that I'm down to 18 days. I can't wait to meet everyone!

Marsha, Another DIS Con chat would be great! Unfortunately I haven't been able to get in on the others, something always going on at that time. But if there is another one I will lock myself to the computer to attend!!

Pretty drastic, huh? Well, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! LOL:D

It's nice to see I'm not the only one who's mind is going a mile a minute. I keep having tons of random thoughts. It's basically only 3 weeks for me and my mind is racing. I keep going to my calendar and checking my schedule for next few weeks. I have a busy week coming up this week. I won't get as much done as I had hoped. I hope to devote Tuesday to getting an oil change for my van, and doing some Christmas shopping. Friday the community service organization I belong to is sponsoring a comedy night to help raise money for a man in need of a special van. That whole day is taken up with preparations for that. So that leaves me Mon., Wed., and Thurs., to get a jump on the Christmas decorations. Add to this the daily chores-cooking, cleaning, laundry, bills, bills, bills, and I've managed to occupy every minute of every day for the next week! Oh, help!   I got my big suitcase down from the attic the other day, now I want to spend some time going through the pile of stuff I picked out to take. I want to see if I can streamline that pile a bit. :)
Marsha, I would love another DIS-Con chat, too. Just say when! :D

Oh, good! I just looked on the calendar and figured I have 23 days left. Been packing mostly in my head, and need to put a list together. In the meantime, I've got Thanksgiving, holiday decorating (yes, I gave in), and a wedding to go to. Plus I think a play....

I did get my ornament for exchange today. One thing down, a thousand to go!

Well, just for giggles.. I thought you would like to know I am having my daughter's future in-laws for Thanksgiving.. Yes, you heard me.. I will be having 15 people here for dinner.. Yup.. I should be right off the wall flying out the 24th.. The good thing is my daughter is doing all the cooking.. I will help of course.. but I have to have the house in tip-top shape and still pack.. I am not stressed.. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Ms. Mackey...you can handle this with one hand tied behind your back. I am sure you guys will put on quite a spread!

Good luck, nothing a few Zambuca's won't fix beforehand!

Random Thoughts:

I bought a bunch of Christmas ornaments today........one for my CB OE person, one for my DIS-Con Exchange person, and several others. ;)

I bought some stocking stuffers for the kids. :)

DH took down the Halloween lights today and put up the Christmas lights around the outside of our house and the trees and shrubs. OF COURSE, we won't turn them on until Thanksgiving night. ;)

Tomorrow I start my Christmas present wrapping.....I need to have this all done BEFORE I leave for DIS-Con.

I need to have the muffler fixed on the car......Grrrr!

I am soooooo excited that I can't sleep at night. :(

I wore my new walking shoes all day today.......trying to break them in before I get to WDW. I have promised myself to wear them at least every other day from now until DIS-Con.

Need to go to my dad's house and get his treadmill.......walking at night just doesn't work......too many other things to do with the kids......dinner, dishes, homework, baths, and bedtime stories.

Need to go and put away my goodies from today's shopping spree............I'll be back soon though. ;) :D ;) :D

I can hardly wait, although I don't know how I'm going to get everything done in the nexrt 19 days, and still have enough life left in me to do everything I have listed on the itinerary that I'm constantly adding to. :D I'm sure I won't be able to stand up by the time we get home. I can't start with the suitcases till the last minute because there's no place to put them, and the cats would be all over them, but we've been getting the list in order and collecting all the essentials like our passes, camera, film, etc. so all I will have to do is drop them in the suitcases.
I really enjoy the getting ready part of our trips, the anticipation, y'know. It's even more fun with this trip because I can come here & share my excitement with friends who are just as excited as I am! I'm driving the people I work with crazy with my daily and hourly countdowns! :D

Tia,

What is the CB OE, is it a different one from DIS-CON one?

Pumbaa_
11-04-2001, 09:58 PM
Yes it is. There is a thread on the community board about an ornament exchange with other dis'ers (not related tot he dis-con ornament exchange).

Go on over and check it out, I think that you could still sign up. December99 is organizing the exchange.

Rules for exchange (http://www.disboards.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118432)

There is still time if you are interested, until the 10th of November.

Tia, you had Marsha? That's so cool. Good grief, I have no idea who I had last year-that's terrible! I do know what I got last year. I received a beautiful Santa. I even saved the card that came along with it. And, I know who I have this year and I'm not telling either!! ;) ;)

Barb, like you said, my mind is going crazy!! I have so many thing to do, so many things that will change the rest of my life, and all the while I have Disney on my mind!

I just bought a new camera and I've been trying to take pictures so I'll be comfortable with it at DIS Con. The girls and I went to the Disney Store Friday evening and bought our Mickey ears Santa hats, along with a few trading pins. (We got a free Monster, Inc. tee shirt, taking it to WDW to try and get it autographed)

Bought our ornaments for the exchange, having to keep an eye on everyone's prescription meds. Enough for the trip for those of us going to WDW and those that are staying home.
Two Dr. appointments coming up for two of the kids, Mediation for my foster daughter's biological Dad to terminate rights. (This meeting will determine if we will celebrate her adoption at our WDW trip) I STILL don't have her travel permission from DHS. (Been trying to get that for THREE MONTHS!!) A side note here, IF they do not get her travel permission before we leave, I'm taking her across state lines illegally so if the FBI come looking for me at DIS CON, don't be an accessory to the crime! Deny any knowledge of me and where I'm staying! :)

Gotta make sure all bills are paid, and extra checks are signed for my Dad. (I have Power of Attorney for my Dad and my DH helps me take care of all his business, but my name alone on the financial accounts.

Get all Christmas layaways out before trip. Pack, make sure I have fresh batteries and enough film for video camera and new 35 mm camera. Send our snacks package to resort ahead of time. Man, I feel like I'm running around in circles!

OK, since everybody else ignored it.....

Halloween Lights???? Good grief, the only time I've seen Halloween Lights was a couple of weeks ago at the Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland!

Oh, Stevie, where have you been? ;) ;) Of course, there's Halloween lights. They make all sorts of neat things for Halloween now. I have a string pumpkin lights. And, I have a string of witch and pumpkin lights. They make plain orange lights, like Christmas lights, too. I've seen those everywhere around here. I just didn't put mine up this year. (too lazy) :D :D

I just couldn't let the Halloween lights comment go unnoticed....

 did someone mention Halloween Lights??? ;)

YES HALLOWEEN LIGHTS!!! :) You goof! I had orange, green, and purple lights all over the front of my house and and on all of the trees in the back yard......very spooky! ;)

Actually we put up more lights this year because 1) I didn't really feel like decorating the inside of the house (though I did a little) and 2) Maile had a Halloween Party so we wanted our house to be 'inviting' :)

Geez! No Halloween lights under that rock???

Tia, that's really sweet. :)
Yes, Pat, there are a lot-I still haven't gotten through them all. I have to keep leaving the computer to do some work here at home! All this home stuff just gets in my way! ;) By the way, did you see the big change for the Grand Floridian tea? The time's been changed to 12:30 pm. :)

Please glo, don't tell my boss, please little glo, be good... Shame on me! I am sure you never:rolleyes: do the same, you exemplary worker! ;) ;) ;) :p :p ;) ;)

Moreover, I have bumped into a site which has some Dis Meets photos. I saw you in one of them. It is a pity but I think it will be impossible to recognize you in person, if I depended only on that particular picture. You see, nobody would say that you don't look nice, but it was ... quite an unusual angle.:p :p :p :p

Hmmmm. I think my boss will remain in ignorance...
