My family & I have checked in, we are in room 4840 which is a Magic Kingdom view. :cool1: :banana: Just wanted to give some updates. The shops on the 4th floor are open, the Fantasia store will be turning into the new arcade, the Tower rooms & South Garden wings have been renovated & as stated before the North Garden wings are to be closed on October 1st, to make room for the new DVC wing. Lastly the new lounge up on the 12th floor is amaizing just like others have been saying.

Wow! The arcade's moving upstairs huh? Interesting, the Contemporary's arcade is definitely my favorite. Thanks for the updates & hope you have an awesome time!

Hope you have a great time. I think you mentioned not having a digital camera, so no chance of pictures I guess. Can you verify that Wishes is not broadcast inside the lounge? Someone mentioned it on another thread and I was hoping it was only temporary.

Just wanted to give an update. Jimi who checked us in on the 12th floor said the Food N Fun Center & Concourse Steakhouse will start mmoving next year. So we now know when, he just didn't say what month but for sure in 2007. Also Tammi my Dad bought a digital camera, so I can take as many pictures as I want of the lounge. Also the lounge does face the Magic Kingdom, so Wishes can be seen from there.

Thanks so much for taking the time to update us live from the resort!

How is the tile/rug replacement coming? Any mention of how long it will take?
Hopefully the concourse isn't too messed up while you are there.

Thanks for your live report! Do they still have the computers in the atrium club rooms w/internet access? I think I remember someone posting about that before.

Last night at Downtown Disney there was a lot of people for a Tuesday night, but we had no problems walking around & the weather is hot but we can manage it & then at night it gets a lot better. Like I said before Concourse Steakhouse won't be moving until next year, so there is no sign of any renovation over there. Lastly the 14th floor is completely closed as it is being renovated & it should open maybe next month, but no one was 100% sure about that. Lastly there are still computers in the Atrium Club rooms, which is where I am writting this & as of right now internet use is still free.

I was told that they are not Piping in the wishes music into the new lounge.
Can you confirm?

This is off topic about the resort, sorry.... but how are the crowds? We will be in the World this time next year.

The crowds have been ok. We asked if it was because of what happened in the U.K. but we were told generally around this time kids are back in school so they are less busy but there are always people in the hotel.

Have a blast and thank you for taking the time for this thread! Very nice of you! The new rooms are very nice & yes as of right now you can use the arcade. The won't be moving the arcade, Concourse Steakhouse & the Food & Fun Center until 2007, they did not say when that would happen.

Where are you going today? Today we plan to do some shopping because we want to be back at 5:00 PM for the food at that time & tomorrow it's off to Epcot.

I read recently that checkin for California Grill was not on the 2nd floor because of construction, that you checked in at the restaurant. Did you happen to notice? We'll be there for dinner next week. Thanks! Glad you're having a good trip!

Hey CR glad you are having fun. We were there when the 12th floor opened, it is beautiful! The food offerings were good too. I was so happy they had the free computer and internet, we have stayed at many hotels in the past weeks and all of them had internet service free in the lobby. We got back home on July 28 from Disney and left to drive our daugher home from Seattle to Chicago on August 8. Anyway have fun, drink water!

I am jealous!! I know you are having so much fun!! We'll be there in less than a month- is the construction bad or really irritating?? Should we book another resort (the last part sounds stupid based on how much fun you're having but I have heard so much NEGATIVE- it's driving me crazy!!):) Thank you for your feedback!!

Are the computers and free internet going to be permanent in the Atrium Club rooms? That would save us packing our laptop! Hope you had a great trip. Can't wait to see pictures.
