It seems Grand Villas are hard to book at OKW if that isn't your home resort (most likely due to the low point cost?)...and they're difficult-to-impossible to book at BWV even if that IS your home resort.
So I was just wondering what your experiences have been booking GVs at SSR? Was it hard to get the reservation you wanted? Was the home resort priority window important to you?
Just curious!

1) Grand Villas are ALWAYS tough to get.
2) Call early and call often.

We reserved a SSR GV for our DD's FTW. We got the dates we wanted, but we called at exactly 11 mos out and reserved day by day.

I think this is a very good question, and it will be interesting to see if a GV is as challenging to book as the ones at OKW and BWV. We'll probably need a couple more years to really get a handle on it, but my guess is that GV's will always be in high demand.
How many are there at SSR anyway? It would seem to me that since it is such a high demand accommodation, Disney would build more of them (as a percentage of total rooms) as they add resorts. I suppose that assumes that all existing GV's are fully booked every day of the year already. :confused3

To me it seems like a GV is a great "buy" at OKW because of the low points. So I understand why they're hard to book. For BWV, the proximity to the parks and being on the boardwalk make the higher points make more sense, too. It seems to me that the SSR GVs have none of these advantages (i.e. they "cost" nearly as many points as the BWV ones, but don't have the location advantage) so I'm not sure whether there'd be as much demand for them. This is not to bash SSR!-We love SSR and it's our first choice for several travel scenarios. I'm just not sure I understand the value equation that would make people want to get a GV there.
