A DDA Double Wedding - Mickey & Minnie

[UP Disney]

Pal Mickey Nicholas Mouse (Nicky for short) is getting married to Minnie on Dec. 2 at the Contemporary Resort at 7:15pm. There will be many DDA families in attendance for the happy nuptials as well as some other stuffies.

BABW Mickey & Minnie are going to be joining Nicky & his fiance and tying the knot in a double wedding ceremony.

They will stand up as the best man and maid of honor for each other.

This page is going to be a work in progress. It will probably be changed to an invitation style page.

Minnie has chosen reds & greens for her wedding colors. She will be posting pictures of her wedding dress, etc. She has told Nicky under no circumstances is he to visit this site. Heaven forbid if he was to see her in her wedding dress before the ceremony was to take place!

Here are Mickey & Minnie's going away outfits. They aren't sure if they are wearing them on the cruise because they really want to dress like pirates for the cruise. We'll have to wait and see. They'll wear this at least one day of their honeymoon! These are the colors that Minnie chose. Their coats have a red lining that match Mickey's bow tie & top hat ribbon.

The wedding rings (bracelets) are being made by Theresa (babytrees) and her girls.

Is there anyone that wants to try their hand at making a blue garter for Minnie? She has a tiny little leg and it will probably need to be a velcro version. Otherwise, it will be hard to get over her very large feet.

Last weekend I went to a victorian village museum with my parents and my grandma. They have a thing similar to disney dollars where you can exchange real money into victorian money to spend in the shops there. So I went into the bank and asked the cashier for a sixpence. Now the museum actually make all of the coins themselves (as old coins are rare and expensive so there wouldn't be enough of them to use) and they don't make sixpences just yet. So instead I got a silver thrupence (three pence). I know it's not quite right but it has a picture of the black horse from Lloyds Bank on the back which is the bank that I work for and as I can't be there for the big day I'd be touched if Minnie would have it in her shoe.

Oh and the funniest tale from the day is that my mum asked why I needed a sixpence and I told her that my "friend" was getting married and wanted one for her shoe! I think if I'd told her it was a stuffie she'd think I'd gone :crazy:

I've decided on one of the songs for the wedding. "You're Still the One". I think that is a very appropriate song for these two mice after all these years!!!

Any other good song suggestions for the wedding. I have the CD player & some small speakers on my packing list. I'll put the music CD together before leaving. That is on my to-do list.

Mickey & Minnie will be bringing their own suitcase. It was going to be my little one on wheels that I take on my trips to Lansing but the longer the list gets, I think they'll have to use Becky's large roller suitcase!

Heck, you should have time to run over to the Contemporary on the monorail for the wedding which starts at 7:15 and will be a very short ceremony. Mickey & Minnie & some of the guests will then be leaving at 7:45 for a fireworks cruise on the lake. There are going to be 4 of us DDA ladies there for the cruise (and I think they all plan on coming to the wedding before hand). You could attend the wedding and also meet 4 of the crazy DDA ladies and some of their families.

I'll have to look at our ADRs and see what time we are going to Le Cellier, because I am sure we won't be able to change it. I guess it also depends on what time we actually get to Epcot that afternoon. I will make sure I get all the info for the wedding just in case!

There's going to be a double wedding at WDW in December. Stephanie's BABW Mickey & Minnie are going to get hitched as well while they are there. They were going to be the best man and maid of honor but plans have changed. BABW Minnie already has a wedding dress thanks to Christi. I'm working on getting a tux for BABW Mickey.

Time to get some serious planning done for this wedding. I need some assistance from my creative friends. Stephanie & I are looking at getting Grand Gathering tees for the fireworks cruise and to wear to the wedding. We can have three lines on the back of the tee with 18 characters per line. Any ideas on what it should say? This would be for Chuck, Stephanie, Kevin (Stephanie's sister) and I for sure and any of the others that want to order them. It says it is up to Disney's discretion on whether they will print it so I want to do something safe.

Preparing for the wedding

After a short rest at the resort, it is time to make the final preparations for the wedding.

First, Minnie & I have to finish up the wedding favors. Minnie has found the cutest princess slipper. She was hoping to have some red & green m&m’s but the weather is too warm and we are afraid that they will melt in transit. She decides that they’ll have to go without any sweets and hopes this is ok since everyone attending the wedding will be going on the Fireworks cruise and there are snacks provided before hand. Kate (Julia & Nicks Mom) has made wedding matchbooks with mints to include. Minnie absolutely adores them. The last addition is a set of gold rings. All of this is placed in a little drawstring bag.

Minnie then got herself dressed. Chuck kept Mickey out of the way so that she had privacy. She made sure she had her something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue. She had an old penny that was pressed with Mickey’s impression that she wore in her slipper along with the threepence from Clare, her dress & veil was her something new, she wore one of my pearl bracelets for a necklace as her something borrowed and she wore a blue ribbon as her as a garter. She was a very beautiful bride. She made sure she had her bridal bouquet and she was dressed & ready to go.

Mickey, being a boy, took much less time getting dressed. He threw on his tux, made sure he had the wedding bands and he told me he was ready. The top hat was bothering him so he decided not to wear it. However, he forgot to remind me that his tux needed some adjustments. Luckily, I had a little sewing kit so that I could make them on the bus on the way to dinner.

Chuck & I put on our wedding finery. Matching tees with a picture of the two wedding couples with the fireworks cruise theme. The wedding couple had their own matching tees to wear on the fireworks cruise after the wedding.


Design on our red tees (Don't worry! All but Ginny are stand-in actors for this picture. The grooms did not see the brides before the wedding in their wedding finery).

Minnie & I made sure we had everything packed. Wow, we had a lot of stuff to keep track of. We needed the CD player & CD with speakers, the wedding favors, clothes for the fireworks cruise, wedding bands for Mickey & Minnie as well as their own, and a whole host of other things. We also had glow in the dark necklaces to pass out to everyone for the fireworks cruise.

After we thought we had everything collected, we left for dinner with Kevin & Stephanie at Concourse Steakhouse. Our reservation was for 5:30 pm. Once we walked out the door, we decided if we forgot anything, we’d have to live without it! Now, I can relax and just have fun!

Terry brought the ring pillow. Wow! It is absolutely gorgeous. Stephanie also surprised me with a flower basket. We asked Olivia to be the flower girl. We told her that she needed to pretend that she was dropping the flowers. However, she wanted to have something real so she collected leaves to drop.

After a little while, we realized that we would have to start without Kristine and hope that she would arrive before too long. Dear DDA, friends & family, we are gathered together here at Disney World in the site of Walt and in the face of this company, to join together these mice in magical matrimony; which is an honourable estate, and therefore is not by any to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly; but reverently, discreetly, advisedly, soberly, and in the fear of Disney fans worldwide. Into this magical estate, these four mice present come now to be joined. Stephanie practically waltzed down the aisle with the brides. I sure hope that Jennifer's husband got some good video of that. Olivia decided she didn't want to be the flower girl at the last minute so Jennifer & Olivia did it together. It was a beautiful wedding. Kristine showed up part way through. They had been at the Candlelight Processional and had to rush over from that.

After the wedding, we cleaned everything up and headed inside to get ready for our fireworks cruise.

And there ends the saga of the DDA double wedding.
