If I ever was brave enough to get one, this is what I would want...

But what color? Where?

I likey. Definitely black. How about the side of your foot (inside).

This is what I want to get! But I also am a huge chicken. I've wanted this for the last several years and always chicken out at the last minute. I want to put it somewhere near the foot. I wanted to do it on top of the foot but I hear thats really painful. I wanted to do it in red with a smaller Mickey Head in the center swirl part in black or reverse the color around and have a small red Mickey Head instead. I hope you have the guts I probably never will! Post pictures!

I likey. Definitely black. How about the side of your foot (inside).

I have been thinking of my foot or my hip (front of my hip). I do like black or maybe a swirl of blue to purple. I was also thinking of putting the 3 initials of my DH, and 2 DSs in the circles (m, n, r)

:lovestruc this thread! I have 4 tats total, but only 1 Disney related one. I have a Black "swirl" Mickey head on the right side of my back (shoulder actually). Once I get enough posts in I'll post a pic!

I'm so jealous!! I want my tattoo..but I have to wait till I stop nursing my son..I was actually thinking of Minnie mouse, holding a Mickey jr (like a little mickey mouse son)...(for me and my son)...just not sure where to put it...might go on the side of my torso...

That sounds adorable!!:flower3:

Oh and about my tattoo that was infected, only part of it was infected and total time from getting it to where it is now has been 4 weeks. There's still some flaking/peeling going on on the Mickey head and there are still bandage marks around the whole tattoo (not allergic, but appear to not tolerate the glue in non-latex bandages) but it's pretty much done healing. Has not deterred me from getting more, though! :thumbsup2

Definitely me! I got my first in May for my 16th birthday, and I'm already planning my next one. I try to be wise and pick something that means something to me though, it's not just random designs that I like. And, mine was on my foot! Obviously it didn't hurt so bad if I'm planning another, which will also be on my foot. ;)

Hey Guys,

Met with the artist I am going to have do my tattoo work tonight. Very nice guy. My wife and one of our daughters went with me. Everyone in the shop was very nice and made us feel right at home. Steve, the artist, took the photos my idea is based on and is going to work up a drawing and send it to me to review. I am really glad I took everyones advice and took time to look around. This guys work looks great and I am really looking forward to getting this tattoo....:thumbsup2

Yep. I have six, but the first five I got in under 18 months. My artist was in Dallas, so when we got the urge, we'd fill the tank, grab some snacks and make the three-hour drive to the studio. Ahh, to be young and impulsive again!! :rotfl:

That's a very good description actually. I kind of likened it to getting scratched by the cat. It took about 90 minutes to do mine and it wasn't intolerable. I think it also depends on the location of the body you choose to have tatted.

That was how mine was too. It didn't hurt (mine is on my foot which is supposed to be the most painful), it was just like a constant catscratch. Annoying? Yes. Bearable? Absolutely. Mine was very short though, it only took 10 minutes, but it was already starting to "numb", as in the pain wasn't very noticeable anymore.

My healing was 2 weeks. For the first week it was just a little stingy, like constant stinging. It wasn't too bad though, I ignored it. After and while the scab was falling off it was really itchy.

Hate to ask you all again.
But.........
I'm still looking for some clip-art for my next tat.

Looking for:

Peter pan, Wendy, John and Michael
flying pass Big Ben.

I want to put in on my left arm.
Between my shoulder and elbow.
So I can cover with a short sleeve shirt, if I have to.

Yep, that is what I think too. I took everyones advice here and started looking all around. I spent a lot of time looking around and narrowed it down to a few shops and then went and visited them. I am going to go with Steve from the shop below. I sent him an email of what I was thinking about. He made some time for me to come in and showed a lot of interest in what I am looking for.

How did that feel when you got it done? I'm thinking of getting mine in about the same spot or maybe a little lower. I am just worried because I got my first one on the outside of my ankle and the part that was the worst was when he went over the bone and the position of your tattoo is on a lot of bone. Thanks.

It was pretty uncomfortable. I have another tat on top of my foot on my big toe and that really hurt. This wasn't that bad but it wasn't fun. But it was worth it and only took about 45 mins!

OK I swear i posted my tattoo but I guess it was on a different thread because I just looked through more than 50 pages and although I saw some VERY cool tats, mine was not here. So here it is :) I took this picture like the day I got it so it was still a little red. I got it in January 2008.

All of these tattoos are great! Most notably the Black Pearl, the castles, and that (adorable) Simba up there.

I've been considering getting a Beauty and the Beast tattoo for a couple of years now and I've just recently been compiling images to go off of. I've always wanted Belle in her 'provincial' blue dress laying in that field with the little wish weeds and then have "I want adventure in the great wide somewhere" underneath it but I can't find a full body frame of her there. I'm also leaning towards a silhouette of Belle and Beast dancing and have it framed by the magic mirror, but I can't find a decent picture of the mirror so its hard!

If you guys come across either images like those, please let me know!

Looking forward to seeing more Disney tattoos!! :rotfl:

How many of you, after your first tattoo, got tattoo fever? Lol.

I only had mine for 2-3 months and I'm already wanting another one. My parents would KILL me though lol.

It's very common to want more after your first one, I started with one..I now have four. I'm thinking of a fifth one.;)

My new Disney Tattoo I got 2 weeks ago. I got it on the back of my leg :)

I haven't been reading this thread for a while, but this ink is great! It definitely stands out! Love the shading and the sunset background is really well done!

I still haven't gotten a Disney Themed one. Just got a Heart Lock on my chest and I'm thinking I'll go with an Anchor next if I can hold off on the rest of my chest for a bit! The Anchor may contain a Hidden Mickey though.

I posted a link showing my Disney nails on another thread and some said I should show my Disney tattoos.

Let me explain them.
Dumbo & Jumbo
When I was pregnant with my first son I used to sing "Baby Mine" (song from Dumbo) to my belly. My son passed away when he was 17 days old (15 years ago). I always knew I wanted a Dumbo tattoo so last July I got one.

I have it on my back just below the left shoulder.
I'm just learning to upload photos so hopefully this works.

Just outline
http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/43406/2378910080079946734S500x500Q85.jpg

Color filled (only second done so it was bleeding a little)
http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/42441/2727474420079946734S500x500Q85.jpg

For my second tattoo I got August last year for my son Zach. It was supposed to Stitch eating a Shamrock because when my son acts up he reminds me of 626 and we are Irish. As time went on I figured that it will be on my leg FOREVER so I wanted something meaningful again. I did Sorcerer Mickey because he's my second love (after my son) and the 4 stars represent my dad, my MIL, my FIL and my Godmother who have past on. Many many many years from now when my moms passes I will add a star for her to my leg - just above the h next to my dads star. The tattoo was supposed to be about 2 inches but by the time I got to the tattoo place it grew in my head to 3 W x 4 1/2 L LOL.

Here it is
http://inlinethumb27.webshots.com/45658/2793179170079946734S500x500Q85.jpg

December 2008 we went to Disney and we were online to see Sorcerer Mickey. I said to my mom damn I should have worn shorts so I can show my tattoo. She said well flash Mickey (not thinking I would). I said great idea.
Mickey loved my tattoo.
http://inlinethumb07.webshots.com/42950/2067585330079946734S500x500Q85.jpg

My next tattoo I want an anklet around my ankle with 3 mickey heads 1 for each of the men in my life (hubby, John & Zach) but that spot really hurts so I need to be very drunk (and I don't drink) Guess I will never get that tattoo LOL

going to check out everyone else's tatoos

Thank you. I wanted a tattoo that meant something to my heart and not "just" a tattoo. When people asked me about my tattoos I wanted a meaningful story behind them and not "well, I got drunk one night" (like my dad's snoopy tattoo LOL)

Did that make sense LOL

I want to get another tattoo something that represents hubby and I. I will never put his name on my leg. My next hubby might not like that :rotfl2:

A side comment, most tattoo artists won't tattoo you if you've been drinking, one for the obvious reason (Snoopy) and two because alcohol is a blood thinner and the ink wont stick very well, leaving 'holes' in the images. Just take extra strenth ibuprofin before hand. It'll help with the pain and swelling. Or pick a different place! :goodvibes

If it's FREE I say go for it!! The pain really is not un-bearable and the arm should be a breeze. Normally the anticipation of the pain is worse than the actual feeling of getting the tattoo itself! Go for it!! :thumbsup2

They don't hurt at all. I was scared to death of the pain, but I knew I wanted my tattoo. My artist talked to me before hand and told me that he would do one line and see how I felt after it. He did and honestly it didn't hurt at all, my tattoo is on my ankle. After a while it did feel like a sting, but honestly it didn't bother me at all (and I'm not big on pain)

I found the week after to be more aggravating due to the itching than the actual process was.

What would you have done if it hurt too bad? Would you have seriously thought of walking away with a line on your ankle? I've never heard of a tattoo artist that will stop and give someone the option of continuing or not. Most would keep going, unless the customer was in serious distress. Please don't take this tone sarcastically, it's not meant to be at all, I just really wonder if there are people walking around with "lines" because they decide not to go through with it. The two artists that have done my tats both said that in the years, they've have people they've had to stop working on, but they always come back.

It's like that Friends episode where Phoebe chickens out after the first dot. She then tells everyone it is how her mother sees her from heaven!

My other choice is this. Its all pixelated but hopefully you can get the idea. I can't find another picture of it anywhere.

ok I'm not going to lie to you tattoos can hurt. It depends where you get it. I am a HUGE MEGA BIG WIMP. I was never stung by a bee till I was 30 because I thought it would hurt like hell. I was on a field trip with my sons class and got stung 3 times in the same spot while I was protecting my son. I figured everyone said getting a tattoo was like a bee sting so I decided I can handle it :rotfl:
The one I got on my back wasn't bad at all. I don't know if it didn't hurt because it didn't hurt or because I had my mom, my 7 year old son and my young nephew with me and I was being BRAVE :rotfl2:l . The one on my leg I went alone and it wasn't bad at all. I have to admit the only place where I got a little teary eyed was where Mickeys feet are. I am a heavy chick and to have me laying sidewards with 1 leg bent up (out of the way) and the other leg straight out in the same position for an hour was not a treat either LOL

I say pop a couple advil and you will be fine...oh and if it's free it's even better LOL

if you are scared ask your nephew to run the needle (without ink) around the area you are getting your tattoo to see if you can handle it. Good Luck and i want to see pictures

Hart and Huntington is at the Universal City Walk.

Just know that in many shops, especially larger and more respected shops (like H & H) you usually just can't walk in and get a tattoo done. No matter what it looks like customers do on television. Most of the time you make an appointment for a few days later and you want the artist to take his / her time in drawing up your image.

I am going to get my second Disney tat tomorrow. I am going with Mickey at the Wheel in Steamboat Willie.

I posted on this reply because I think it is really neat having Disney Characters see themselves as human art. Tigger loves seeing mine. This is not a great picture of the tat but you get the picture, I think. Tigger is bouncing through Rabbit's garden, creating a ruckus as he is known to do.

I dont ever want to get a tattoo. I don't do pain and I know in a couple of years, I'll regret getting it. The only tattoos I get are the temporary ones. I think they look just as good, and you can wash them off if you get tired of them. That is my kind of tattoo. LOL

I agree that they are not for everyone! My BF likes the way they look on others (for the most part) but he just has no interest in getting his own. And it's better to not get one and be happy then get one because you *think* you want it, and regret it.

Thanks so much....I'll do a little research on them. As for me walking in and getting a tattoo...I totally understand that it can't be done on the spot. We are in Florida for almost 3 weeks so I will have time prior to wanting it done on our last day.

very cute! Did the outline hurt?? That was the worst part for me and your outline is thicker than mine

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you I was on a business trip. Anyways it didn't really hurt at all since the whole thing was done with a shading needle so it would look more like a painting :)

Thanks steffali! :)

Our next trip is May 2 - 9th. Anyone sees me walking around with my tattoo showing or if you see a couple with backpacks covered in pins (my backpack is a camelbak pack in dull green and my wifes is a blue string backpack with "a million" tinkerbell pins) be sure to say hello.
Also we have little green mickeyheads hanging from them (I think it supposed to mean either a member of this site or dvc, not sure which).

I could not see the pic the first time, either. I'm glad it was posted with the link. That's my favorite yet.

I finally figured out my next tattoo. It's Mickey from Steamboat Willie. It will be all in black with some shading and it will just be Mickey holding the wheel and the life presever behind him that is in that scene. I had walked into a local shop and they were all set to do it and something told me to wait. So I walked out and got some opinions from other inked friends and found that there is a very good artist close by who has won a bunch of awards and his work looks amazing. I brought the picture and we spoke for a while and he's going to do it in 2 weeks.

My issue is this: because I already have something on my left arm (Tigger bouncing through Rabbit's garden), it has to go on my right arm and he said he will flip the image so that he's facing forward. I'm torn between keeping the integrity of the original scene and letting the artist make it look more presentable.

9 times out of 10,I think your artist knows best. He will most likely draw it up both ways and let you make the final decision.

I was at Disneyland July 17th 2005 (the official 50th b-day for Disneyland) and I just happened to run into this guy. He's got everything Disney tattooed on him. Space mtn, the Mark Twain, every ride, character etc. It was crazy. Really friendly guy too.

Well, I am home!!!

I probably did about 4 hours in the chair. When I got there he actually resized the outline a little to make it fit my arm better. We moved the outline once to make sure it was where I wanted it and then got to work. Took 2 short breaks, but the rest was all tattoo time!!!! It did not hurt as bad as I had myself thinking it would, but I was getting pretty sore by the end...

All the outline and shade work is done. Color to come on 1-8-10.

Right now it is covered with saran wrap. He said to leave it on until the morning and then to wash it with soap and water, not washcloth. Then use a small amount of lubriderm.

I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow.

Just found this thread, loving it! Gave me an idea for my next tattoo. I think I want Tinkerbell with how she is bent over side profile with the tip of her wand touching the top of the castle with fireworks around it, one hidden Mickey firework. The trouble will be thinking of where to put it. I don't want it huge, either.

Need to get me a Woody tattoo! ;)

Love that tattoo!! That makes me wish I had gotten a little more to mine.

It is a nice tattoo.... but I like yours the way it is. :goodvibes

Loving that Stitch tattoo!!!! He (and Goofy) is my fave character and I really want to get one done as well but just know I would be at the end of numerous jokes or tongue lashings from my family/colleagues as noone else I know is as Disney crazy as my Fiance and I. Still great ink:thumbsup2

Here is my first tattoo. It is only about 10 days old in the picture, so it looks a little shiny is spots. I took the POTC skull, added a hidden Mickey where the coin would be on the dangle, and added my DDs initials. I think it turned out pretty good.

I've decided I want to get something with Mulan...
does anyone have a really good picture/drawing of either her hairclip or the flowers above the bench where she sits with her father?
I've done searches and can't get anything clear or big enough to print out.
I think I'll have to go to Borders to look for one of the Disney Picture books.....

Also, Mulan sits with her father in the beginning and the end of the movie...and the flowers look a little different each time, so I posted some pics of both. :thumbsup2

(Oh and the last three look the same..but they aren't. They show some different angles of the flowers. :) )

Okay - I made it through about 75 pages of this thread and am thinking of going to get *something* very soon! I have one on my ankle that I have had for over 15 years - just hearts and roses. I'm leaning towards one on the inside of my wrist. I like the swirly head mickey - but also have had my eye on a "Peace, Love, Mickey" design...

My question - if you were doing a design on your wrist - how would you orient it? So it looked right when you looked at it - or when someone else looked at it? I've seen it done both ways even in this thread. I'd like to hear your thoughts!

This is pretty OT, but did anybody watch LA Ink last night??? (I love that show and all it's craziness lol!) Anyway, did you catch Liz talking to Dan about him teaching her to tattoo? She kept saying, oh it can't be that hard, and I'm a quick learner...I think she even made some comment about it being talentless but I can't remember if it was her or if it was a comment by 1 of my friends talking about her. I have so much respect for tattoo artists, tattooing is def a talent that takes a lot of skill, I can hardly draw a stck figure! I wanted to smack the crap out of her!!!

OK, I'm getting some writing on the inside or both of my wrists and I will have them written so that when I love at them, they are right side up so I can erad them. That is because they are a reminder to me, no one else, so I want to be able to look at them and see them the right way.

BUT- if I was getting something that was important to me that others could see or read, the right way, I would have it put upside down to me. KWIM??

Loved looking through all the photos of everyone's Disney tats.
I have one (non Disney) on the back of my neck, just 3 star outlines.

Been thinking about my next for a while now, the first idea was the Beauty and the Beast rose wilting above my ankle bone.
And the second, 'Faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust' in Disney's signature font with tink's wand and maybe some mickey shaped pixie dust. But not sure where I would put this, perhaps on my rib cage...

Met with my tattoo artist Wed and had some more work done on my back piece. I have 1 more sitting to finish my fairies then we will start on my tree. He suggested that I add some knots and critters going up and down the tree and it got me thinking...I have been wanting to add a hidden mickey somewhere in my tat. Sooooo I was thinking, along with what he wants to add in the tree, I might add mickey, tink, donald, pooh, etc as hidden characters. Just the outlines and pretty small. What do you guys think?????

Looking back at these makes me want a new one. Probably on my foot so it can't be seen at work. I think a mickey head maybe with some pixie dust around it.. Something small after the last huge Disney one I got on my back a year ago.
