Not sure if this will work but here's my tattoo.
Mon and Pop loved disney and after they both passed I decided to draw an image of Minnie and Mickey holding hands on the beach watching a sunset. The woman who does my work is great (in my opinion) and she had no problem doing this for me. The amazing thing is that last year my wife and I were at the Art of Disney in Epcot and a painter (David Doss) was there who does disney themed prints and there was one limited edition print that had Mickey and Minnie sitting on the beach at the polynesian (my parents favorite resort) holding hands and looking across the lake at the magic kingdom. We took it as a sign they were doing great and just had to buy it! Kind of cut into the budget but now I look at it everyday and it makes me smile.
I hope I posted this the right way since I have not posted a pic on these forums before.

Thanks memy26 for showing the correct link to the photo for me!:goodvibes
Thanks steffali! :)
Our next trip is May 2 - 9th. Anyone sees me walking around with my tattoo showing or if you see a couple with backpacks covered in pins (my backpack is a camelbak pack in dull green and my wifes is a blue string backpack with "a million" tinkerbell pins) be sure to say hello.
Also we have little green mickeyheads hanging from them (I think it supposed to mean either a member of this site or dvc, not sure which).

I have wanted one for some time, because I fell in love with all things Disney after going to WDW on my honeymoon. I don't have the dh anymore, but I still love Disney.
What I really, really want is to get pixie dust on the top of my foot and I have wanted it for so long I can't stand it! But back then, no one was into tattooing the top of the foot. Now it's popular and I still want to get it, even though I am not trendy...LOL
Does anyone know where I can find a good picture of a pixie dust tattoo, or even some pictures I can take to the tattoo studio to give the artist some ideas? I really appreciate anyones input.
And I am loving everyone's pictures! There is a lot of neat stuff out there.
THANKS!

WOW! This has got to be the most active I have seen a Disney tattoos thread on this board! Awesome!!!!
If anyone has pics that they want to post but don't know how you can set up a free account at something like photobucket (or the Dis actually also has a photo posting section) and put your pictures on that. Then do an advanced reply and there is an icon for you to click to enter the address of your picture for it to put it in your post.
My two cents on tattoos and pain:
I'm not a big tattoo person, I have two, one on my back inbetween my shoulders, and one on my ankle (my mickey I posted) but both of my parents are covered and my husband has quite a few of his own too. . .. and I have a couple tattoo artists that are friends.
I am not big into pain!
I have given birth. . . but even though I was determined to go au natural I didn't make it and got an epidural (this pregnancy I am not even going to kid myself).
Yet, I found tattooing bearable. I just kept telling myself that the hour(s) of pain would be worth it for something that would last a lifetime (with the occassional touch up, ofcourse).
From what everyone has told me the closer it is to bone the more it hurts, and also the closer it is to areas full of nerves. The tops of the feet and hands, and on collar bones are supposed to be the most painful. Followed by ankles, shoulder blades, wrists, neck, etc. The least painful place supposedly is the breast or chest. Ofcourse this all varies from person to person, and one's weight, and pain tolerances, etc.
In fact my tattoo on my ankle was less painful than the one inbetween my blades, traditionally a spot that isn't supposed to be too bad, especially if you have some cushioning there like I do.
So, if you really want to know the best spot to get a tattoo my opinion is this: where you will be most happy seeing a tattoo for the rest of your life. Because ultimately that's what matters. . . . it might be the most painful spot you could have ever picked but if you never come to regret it then it will be worth it.
The quickest tattoo you could ever get is a name or writing. They also heal the quickest because the writing is so thin as opposed to inches thick. And it is hard for even a subpar artist to mess up writing.
Take into account healing, if you don't have anyone to help you, then the back is really not a good place to get a tattoo. And try and avoid getting a tattoo where clothes could rub it while it's healing. I won't give any other tips as far as healing goes other than do whatever your artist tells you. Just about every artist will have a different way of telling you how to heal it, this is mainly because no one but them knows what works best for their art. Different techniques call for different after care. (But do be wary of anyone that tells you to use neosporin)
Also, some tips for getting a tattoo:
Eat before you get it done! When you get a tattoo your body releases alot of endorphins. . . . and if you haven't eaten in awhile then it can cause your blood sugar to drop considerably. And you are technically causing trauma to your body when you get a tattoo so make sure you give your body fuel and fluids to help it handle it.
Take deep breaths!!! Remember to breath while your getting a tattoo. May sound simple but it really will help with the pain! You don't know how many times I caught myself holding my breath during my first tattoo. It can actually make things hurt to hold your breath cause it messes with your blood flow and actually causes your skin to tighten, making you feel the needle a whole lot more. So, breath, try and relax and things will go faster and easier.
Find a good artist with good recommendations. Different artists have different "touches" While the principle is the same and they all basicly have to do the same thing (get the needle in the same approximate depth, etc) different artists will have different ways of doing it. Try and find an artist with a "delicate" touch.
Also, find an artist that meets your needs. . . .do you like to have someone that chats you up while you're getting your hair cut? or do you prefer someone who is quiet and leaves you to your thoughts? That's something to consider with an artist.
If you like a chatty sort then it helps when you're getting a tattoo to have someone talking with you to keep your mind off of the pain.
But it can also be a bad experience when you're getting poked with a needle and clenching your teeth wishing the artist would just shut up!
Ok, I know that's a lot of info and stuff. . .. but in my opinion a tattoo should be a lifetime commitment and so many different little factors can play alot in whether your happy with it or not.
Even if it's just a little tattoo that only takes 45 minutes to do. . . . it's still there permanently. Not all the tattoos that people come to regret are big. . . some can actually be quite small.
Thank you for the great advice!!

I'm totally not an artist, so I can't help you out there, and I'd have to see your idea before I judge it. I tried drawing it out on paper and it just didn't look right. What about a Mickey head, or the line drawing, then some sort of flower or "pixie dust" surrounding it, in the birthstone color of each child? Let us know what you decide and if you get something drawn up with the initials. I'd love to see it!

I really want a Mickey head, but the birthstone color is a neat idea.... Just I dont really even follow their birthstones, (or signs) ...lol.
I'd really like their initials incorporated somehow...

Depends on how big you want it. Maybe use characters for each letter with a mickey head as the background.
for example: R - remy (ratatouille)
K - Kanga (winnie the pooh)
S - sully (monsters inc)
E _ eyeore ( winnie the pooh)
put a mickey head outline around the characters or a "shadow" behind. Maybe make the characters hold hands.
Just google mickey characters and you will find a list of all characters from all disney films, then you can match favorites!
good luck

Here's my princess tatt. I wish I would have gotten a hidden mickey in the crown. I am planning on getting another after I run my race but I keep debating. I really want the word believe wispy with stars around it. Then I think of a butterfly representing believing I can fly.
Question, does anyone think anything could be added on the sides or top of this one or would it take away from it?

ImMarcik ~ I love your princess tattoo. I think the only thing I might do to it if I was you was add some ears to the dot over the "i" to add a little more Disney flair to it. If you add anything else it would probably take away from the way it looks like it sparkles. Your artist really did a great job!

For those of you that have tattoos on your wrist, how badly did it hurt?
I have 5 tattoos now: 1 on each shoulder blade, 1 on my foot, and 2 on my chest area(which hurt the most out of all of them to me...)
I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on the inside of each wrist and just want to know how the pain compares to other parts of the body....
I know you've already had your question answered but I wanted to confirm what everyone else was saying. The wrist is the easiest place to get tattooed. More of an annoyance than pain. And it was the fastest healing tattoo I've ever gotten. Hope you went through with it, and if not yet then hope you will soon and post the picture here :thumbsup2

That's great. I love artists that really take their time and make every tattoo look great. I hate the ones that think that if it's not their kind of art work that it's not worth taking the time. Are you going to get the other disney related tattoo that you were talking about?

I have also had the thrill of being able to meet the Disney tattoo guy. He was one of the nicest people that I have even met in my life. I can't remember how old I was but I remember that I was in line for Test Track with my family and I noticed all of his tattoos and he must have saw me staring( I was young then so I didn't want to talk to a strange man that I didn't know) he started talking with me and my family. I was just so thrilled with all his tattoos.

Sounds like he needs some pressure put on him. (Being one of them there "Devildogs" myself.) I have even encouraged my DW to get one, and my DD just got one a few weeks back.
Tell him it will pass inspection, so hand over the cash. :)

I want to get another one, but I have wait for a long time since my next one is going to be expensive, but pretty.
What's the design of the new one you want to get?
I forgot to post this when I got it last year.
This is on my right shoulder. I got the image from a Disney HongKong pin.

I have four Disney related tattoos, but no pictures as my computer had to be fixed and I lost all my files.
The first one I ever got was a small HM behind my right ear.
The second was a cupcake on my left side and the sprinkles on the cupcake are in the shape of Mickey's head.
The third is Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas and that is on my right shoulder
The last one I have is the name plate from Haunted Mansion and it is on my left calf.
I am planning to get a Wishes tattoo within the next few months, but don't have any clue as to what it will look like.

Not yet....have to convince DH to let me get one. ;) He likes to say "One idiot in this family is enough".....he has a bulldog or "Devildog", with USMC under it.
You can sneak out of the house and quietly get it :lmao: Then when it is done you can go " SURPRISE "
Would you mind if I used that design ?

I finally had my 2nd Disney tattoo done yesterday. I found the picture of this Mickey on Disney's Bloc28 website. I had it done on my left arm.
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/bssager/TATTOO/TATTOO00003small.jpg
I also had color added to my Grumpy tattoo (on my right arm) that I had done about 3 years ago. It looked good when I first had it done, but the lines started to bleed and get blurry. I had the color added to cover some of that up.
GRUMPY after first getting it:

Of course I want to get another Disney tattoo, maybe one of the Villains. My wife said that I already have enough Disney tattoos and I need to move on to something else. I told her that anything else would clash with the Disney theme.

Okay, I need creative help. I want to get my very first tattoo. I have lost about 50lbs in the last year and this is going to be my gift to myself. I think I want it on the lower back. I want it to be me-I dont just want to pick something off the wall.
So I am going to tell you about myself and see if anyone has any great ideas:
I love all things Disney, I have a deal with DH that he gets to hunt and I get 1 Disney trip per year.
Favorite characters: Minnie Mouse, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Mickey Mouse, Tink, and Grumpy
DH thinks I should get Tazmanian Devil because he says my head spins when I get mad. :rotfl: But, I want a pretty, girlie tattoo.
I love several of the Tink tattoos on here. I have 1 DS (10) who was born in March and have thought of incorporating something in about him, maybe like the flower for March like suggested in some of the other posts.
I am a total dreamer so I have thought about a Disney character with maybe some pixie dust and something like the words Dream or Believe with it.
I also was thinking about possibly doing Snow White with Grumpy in some way. My DS says I am Snow White and his Dad is Grumpy.
Anyway, I have not one creative bone in my body so if anyone can help that would be great.:goodvibes

This doesn't really incorporate your son but you could always change the flower the boy is giving Snow White into your sons birth month flower like you mentioned.
Plus I don't know how much you like Precious Moments but I just thought this was cute.

Here's my first tattoo that I got when I was 19. I HATE IT! I want to cover it with something Disney related. I don't know if color goes over black easily. The Tattoo is about an inch and a half - 2 inches up and down to about the same left to right. Any ideas please??? Also I'm getting a mickey or tink on my foot next week!! I can't decide. But I was thinking maybe tink can cover the stupid music note, but I don't see how :confused3

Maybe you could incorporate the music note into a Disney themed tattoo. Mickey playing a trumpet with your existing music note coming out of the trumpet. Or Tink hanging from or standing on the music note?

I like the precious moments figurine posted earlier with the Snow White, but I was thinking possibly of doing this instead:
Have Snow White with Grumpy giving her the flower instead of the precious moments boy and have the flower be a daffodil which is my sons birth flower. I thought this might be cute since DS calls me Snow White and his Dad Grumpy. Any opinions?

What do you think about this?
I like the precious moments figurine posted earlier with the Snow White, but I was thinking possibly of doing this instead:
Have Snow White with Grumpy giving her the flower instead of the precious moments boy and have the flower be a daffodil which is my sons birth flower. I thought this might be cute since DS calls me Snow White and his Dad Grumpy. Any opinions?
Sounds adorable. Be sure to post pictures if you do it!!:thumbsup2

Thank you. My DH has the same bike. It's a 250cc,fully automatic "No Shifting"!! And the round things on the side, are stereo speakers. It gets me where I want to go. I took a pretty good tumble off of it Nov. 1st and fractured my wrist in 3 places.....shhh,told Mom that I tripped and fell. ;)

I told my DH I wanted another tat for my B-Day in May. I have a celtic trinity symbol on my right shoulder, here is a pic right after it was done. (Thats why it looks a little rough):
(sorry it's so big)

My next tat will be Irish and Disney related but I don't know which to choose:
either the flag with the Mickey in the center:

OR
The Mickey shape with the Irish Flag colors (the right side would be orange of course);)

Ok I just found this thread & I am only through page 12 at this point. I have any idea for a tatoo but need a little design help. It is tink sprnkling pixie dust and with a few shaped in mickey ears, each ear standing for each cruise I have been on so far.....or using the cruise logo and pitting mickey ears for each cruise......suggestions please? Oh it's only 3 cruises at this point, will add as I cruise. Ok also was thinking on my foot....how painful is that area? I have 2 butterflies with my girls names under on my shoulder blade, one of the names hurt just cause that one was right on my bone...not like pain I am gonna die...just hurt. Ok so any advice is welcome....now back to reading this thread!

OMG I got my castle tattoo today...OUCH!! I forgot how much they hurt. It's been 12 years since I got my first one. And yeah...I really don't think I will get another one. I didn't realize what a baby I have become over the years, I would rather have more kids then another tattoo. I am really glad that I got it done though. When it heals...I will definately be posting pictures. My husband gets his done on Saturday. And the guy did an amazing job on it.

What a wonderful idea! Our last one was the Aug. Repo through the Panama Canal, it was 3rd as well. We have a "Dummy" cruise booked for Dec. We're really wanting to wait for the new ships,so will be pushing the date out soon.

oh i can't wait to see that - i've been thinking for a while now about getting the castle and stream on my back. i've got musical notes on my lower back that the tatoo "artist" thought would look better in different positions now it doesn't play anything - not sure why he took it upon himself to change the notes but there ya go.
now i'm looking to cover it up with the castle and stream.

Thanks everyone for the comments, I'm really glad that you all like it.
For those asking how long it took...about 2 1/2 hours from set up to finish. It only cost $140 but I gave him a $20 tip because it was soooo amazing. Might go back and put a little more color in the mickey firework and the purple one.
My husband got his Maleficent dragon yesterday!! I will post the picture when we get back from Easter with my folks. Which shouldn't be too long!!
It hurt like a son of a gun...but I am sooo glad that I got it done. And all of your comments are wonderful.
To the guy with the Scorcerer Mickey...that it great, very similar to my husbands.

I'm getting it done on my ankle. I can actually handle needles fine, however everytime I've gave blood or gotten shots I always get nervous as heck at first.

Love the Mickey head! Thats what I want, but somehow with my kids initials.. I'm thinkin the back of the neck, maybe?

Did U do inside or outside of ankle? I really wanna do my foot but am so unsure my pain tolerance for that area. And the only thing for me is I dont want outside of ankle cause I don't want it visible for formal events....just doesn't scream class for me. Foot is nice cause I can hide with strappy dress shoes and stuff for those kinda events......HAS ANYONE DONE THE FOOT???????????????

Ok so that didn't hurt much? Hmmm I was thinking inside as an alternative to the top of the foot cause I also know u shed more skin on ur foot then ankle and I don't wanna have any touchups. I am thinking just a tink outline (no color) on my ankle(inside) with pixie dust (some mickey ear shaped) coming outta her wand slightly going down to my foot...just a little on the foot. omg so many things to think about....my first tatoo wasn't this hard to come up with.....LOL

Yeah, it was pretty much pain free!! Mine is just above the knbbly bone bit, where it's a bit squishy, would certainly do it again over, back, hip and stomach!!

Yay, well done memy! The great thing about tattoos is they heal super fast, the pain should only last like a day, but it will sting a bit in a hot shower.
My last tattoo I got great advice for lookingafter it and it heald amazing! A few times a day I washed it with hot water (stings but good) and some antiseptic first aid cleaner. And then applied a thin layer of diaper rash cream (called Bepanthen not sure if you get it in the US) it healed amazing!!

I don't mind you asking. It was $80. I had checked at another place first and they wanted $140. Interesting thing though is that the place I had it done had much better reviews than the more expensive place
Oh and my artist told me that it was the first time he had ever done any of the Dwarves. He was impressed with how it turned out, so he ask me if he could take pictures of it.
He did say that he had done Piglet earlier in the day so of coarse I had to mention this board and all the wonderful Disney tattoos

Oh my goodness, you did get a wonderful deal! I still have to do my shop "shopping". Tattoo shops just became legal here in OK about 2 years ago or so. I really need to do my homework first before I choose which place and person to go to. And I know that my husband will want a major say so in it too. ;)

That's the thing, I have no idea where I'd put this one! I've got ones on each ankle on the inside of my leg & the outside, except for my right ankle. The outside is still open.
I have 2 chinese symbols on the outter left ankle (Dreams & friends)
My son's footprints & also his name (2 seperate tats) in Chinese characters on the inside left
A green mouse on my inside left ankle
Forget-Me-Nots on my left shoulder w/ the chinese symbol for "friends" under it (got that with my best friend in college)
I like being able to see my work, so I might have to go with the ankle, although my last one hurt a lot more than I remembered all the others. Of course I have really bad ankles, too! Plus, I was kind of reserving my ankle to have a music staff going around from the front of my green mouse to the other side of it. I just have never figured out what melody I wanted on the staff. Hmm, I could do it on the front of my left ankle....thinking, thinking.

Here is my advice for you :) Make sure you LOVE what you are getting, dont go pick something off of a wall. And make yourself wait at least 6 months before you get it.. if you still want it in six months, go for it. AND I am just speaking from experience, bc when I was 18, it seemed like a really good idea to get the Barbie logo tattooed on my butt, lol! :rotfl:
My tat in the works is Walt Disney's siggy, for my shoulder. I dont want black ink though, and was thinking more of a skin tone type color.. any ideas peeps?

The melody I was thinking of for my music staff was either "When You Wish Upon a Star" or "A Dream Is Wish Your Heart Makes" to go along with my "dreams' tat.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I've come up with one Disney idea and another idea for a Back to the Future tattoo. I really like my BTTF idea because it's my favorite movie. The only problem with the Disney idea is that people keep saying "Isn't that kind of childish?" I kind of expected that from most of my friends though since I'm kind of a jock and I listen to Hip-Hop mostly but whatever I love disney, and I always will so most likely this winter I'll get them both done and then I'll post some pictures up here.

I kind of expected that from most of my friends though since I'm kind of a jock and I listen to Hip-Hop mostly but whatever I love disney, and I always will so most likely this winter I'll get them both done and then I'll post some pictures up here.
No way! I think it is cool that you want something like that! We would all love to see your pics when you get them!

I got the ole "isn't Disney childish thing " too. But I said "NO" I love Disney and always have. I want to get another one...maybe on my other foot. Want it to read " All U need is a little faith, trust, & pixie dust!" with pixie dust around it! I just love that saying. Ok well that is my idea, unsure where I want to put it for sure...though I love the foot!

Why worry about what your friends think. My family is mostly "from the old country!" and they think tattoos are a disgrace, yet the one that I have of my parents pays respect to them and they cant even realize that. And as for anyone else, well i belong to a motorcycle club and when we are out i sometimes get ribbed for a disney tattoo until some of the girls see it and say things like "oh that is cute (like me LOL) or they tell the others to shut up because it is a sign of respect, or they even admire me for having the guts to have one and show it off! Just remember as long as you like it is all that counts. Think of it as hanging up a piece of art, some may like it and others may not, but its your house and if they dont like it they dont have to look.

I really like the Mom and Pop tattoo, it's nice. Yeah, I don't mind what my friends I probably won't talk to half of them in five years anyway. The sketch I drew isn't very good, I need a tat artist to sketch one out for me. I couldn't decide on a particular character so I just went with something to represent all of Disney, so I took the castle logo of Walt Disney Pictures. It also has my initials (BD) ,in the Disney font, overlapping the archway and the fireworks are the colors of the Irish flag. It should look pretty good once I get a professional to do it for me. I'd show you guys the sketch but I cant post any images until I have 10 posts.

Sounds great. Good luck with it...and remember if you have someone draw up your idea, dont settle for anything until it's exactly what you want. Cant wait to see it.

I took the tattoo artist my sketches today and he drew up some awesome designs for me. He saw I attempted to draw a castle and decided to draw one, too. He looked up the castle online & found the castle that's used for this year's Celebrate theme. So, I got my tattoo today...It only cost $30. He was awesome and said he enjoyed doing the castle for me. He's never been do WDW but would love to.

I can't remember if you said exactly where this tattoo was put but it looks like the inside of your ankle. Is that right? If so how painful was it? I have a design that I've been thinking about for over a year now and I keep going back to thinking of getting it on the inside of the ankle. Have heard some not so nice things about the pain so that has been holding me back. TIA and it really looks great. I love that it was a spur of the moment drawing.

I'm not the person you were asking, but I wanted to tell you that I have a tattoo on my ankle and I didn't think it was painful at all.
I had it done a little over two weeks ago and I too was worried about the pain. My artist ask if it was my first tattoo and was super nice to me. He started with the first line, then stopped to make sure I was ok. I told him it was fine and he said if you can stand the first line then the rest is a piece of cake. He was right, I sat there and watching him do the whole thing. It was very interesting to watch.
It was a little sore that night and the next day but nothing major. The most annoying thing I found was not being able to shave that spot until it healed.
Good luck if you decide to go through with it.

I also have a tattoo on the inside if my ankle and it hardly hurt at all! Go for it!
I wish I had more inside ankle space as it sure beats getting your back and hip done!!

It's actually on the outside of my right ankle. I have tattoos on the insides & outsides of both ankles now. The only tattoo that REALLY hurt me wasn't because it was a tattoo, it was because the artist was very heavy handed and actually went too deep. I have bad ankles and getting the tattoos didn't bother me. The only other time I really gritted my teeth was when they were on the bone (on the outsides of my ankles).
I was able to pick up the sketches from the tattoo artist and know I want to get another, but now I don't know where to put it. I could do my right shoulder blade (as I have 1 on my left) but I like being able to see it when I want to, not needing a mirror.

I am turning 40 next Tuesday and am getting a tattoo. I can't wait. I was thinking about Tinkerbell, but I really like the castle with the mickey ballons. The inside of the ankle really doesn't hurt? This will be my first one and i am sort of nervous.

About a week. It was actually a temporary one that I got at Disney that helped me finally decide what I wanted

Don't worry. I was nervous too and once he started I realized that it wasn't anywhere near as bad as people had claimed it would be. To me it felt like a minor sting/shock. I would actually love to get another one, but I don't think that dh would approve
