Well I got it!! But it changed..lol it is a swirly mickey head on my ankle, and a mickey ears hat on my toe (cover up of a heart that I got when I was about 16)...I LOVE the way they turned out...I am away for my bday, so I will post pics when I get back....

I'd like to see more guy's tats. I saw a guy a Blizzard Beach 2 years ago and I loved it, I was trying to look at it without staring or him noticing while we stood in line, it was sort of a tribal with a hidden Mickey in the middle and it was a reverse so the ink made the outline but the skin was the actual head. I wish I had a camera.

Ahh, that's right. I remember seeing pics of you and your DH with the BMG. I have seen them once in Boston - so much fun! Great story. I love hearing the reasons/stories behind tattoos.

you could do their birth flowers around pooh. add some grass like he's sitting in a meadow. Place their initials in green near the grass by their flowers. Since i just had my boys flowers put on my foot, I really like the idea!:goodvibes

Thanks!! The one on my leg is actually a design I found on a compilation CD at Starbucks, lol. I love that it symbolizes heart, body and soul.

I want my next one to be a broken heart with dragonflies around it symbolizing all the times I had my heart broken and the dragonflies are for hope.

Lol sure :) I really wanted something at the time that wasn't too cartoonish but was till Disney. I love showing it to people because they are always surprised...Is that Mickey?!?!?

Ok, I have wanted a Disney tattoo for age, but here is my situation:

I already have a dolphin tattoo on my upper outer thigh (I work with dolphins, so I love it and it fits me...it is small...maybe 2 inches). When I had my first child, I added a little baby dolphin swimming along side the larger dolphin.

So, I want to add something Disney, but I don't want a whole new tattoo in a different location, etc. What would your suggestions be? What could I add to my already existing 2 dolphins? Not interested in Ariel (love her, just don't want her on my bod forever...lol!)

LOL that is too funny. But, keeping your eyes open like that for designs helps you to find one in the strangest of places. I just love that. Way better than any flash art you'd get off a wall @ a tattoo shop. :thumbsup2

I feel silly when I tell people that...I have always had an interest in art so things like that catch my eye. Doesn't matter where I am or what it is, I am always looking to things that are visually interesting.

I am hoping to get it done on my shoulder kinda having the dragonflies going around toward the front...Not sure cause you would be able to see it in sleeveless which I can wear to work...but I can also have tattoos visable so, lol...

My brother is moving to S. Korea in August and we are supposed to get matching tattoos in honor of my grandfather before he leaves. We are thinking Mountains in the background with a bear claw in the foreground. We need to have it designed first.

This photo was from 2 sessions ago. Now it is completely colored in. I plan to go back after my WDW trip to start on shadowing. Wasn't sure about it, but the artist said he thinks it will really make it pop. I trust him completely, so I'm sure it will look good. I just kind of told him to do what he wants! I'm thinking my next one will be an arm design. Not completely sure on it yet, but I want something like a vintage paisley tribal design a bright color fading into black. I'm pretty sure that makes no sense, but I can picture it in my head!

I've always loved the bear print/hand print that is the logo for the original Brother Bear movie. Have you seen that? That one's on my list for future tats! Otherwise, I have a cool Celtic bear print that I could send to you. I don't have it here with me, but I could find it at home and send it to you if you're interested.

You could get variations on the same tattoo -- he could get a large paw on his shoulder, and you could get a line of small footprints marching across your foot, for instance. No they don't have to match exactly. His is going to be quite a bit larger no matter what. This is another tattoo that we have that "matches"

I really liked the most recent design I found, I tweaked it a bit (flipped the paw and made it a bit smaller). So now it's between this on my shoulder and paw prints maybe on my foot (scared to death it will hurt too much on my foot)

See!! I am terrified it's going to hurt too bad to finish. Plus I kinda like the idea of my grandfathers hand on my shoulder...I have till till early next week before I have to give my tattoo guy the artwork.

Our tattoos are gaelic for bonded by blood forever. We got the dragonflies after my brother recieved a text message stating that dragonflies only live for 24 hours, so it's first day is it's last. We thought that was very symbolic of living for the moment (we got the tattoos done at a convention)

I have since learned that dragonflies live MUCH longer but have a lot of other symbolism...I really want to get a few tattoo'd.

It was definately uncomfortable but the tattoo artist was quick (thank goodness). There was one spot that he kept hitting that made my toe reflex. He found it quite amusing.:)

I have been searching the web for new ideas and any other Disney tats. I just saw one on another site that is on a womans back and it is of the stretching picture from the HM, the one with the lady with the parasol on the tightrope over the swamp with the alligator.

(I won't post a link because it is a tattoo site that has banners attached to adult sites.)

I am going on Tuesday, I think I'm getting some flowers in the shape of a hidden Mickey. Has anyone used the emla cream? I heard it really helps and I am a huge chicken.

I have heard it makes it worse afterwards because you don't feel the pain during...not as much adrenaline. I am a huge baby too and have had 4 done.

Nope - I haven't even heard of it.
I can honestly say that I was 'freakin' scared to get my tattoo. It was something my husband and I both wanted for a long time. Once I got in there and it started, I got into my 'zone'. I was laying down with my eyes closed. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. I never thought of getting another, but this thread may change my mind . . .

I have never heard of it, sorry!! I personally don't think the pain is as bad as most people think it is. With my three, none really hurt, just one tiny part on my ankle did right around the ankle bone and tendon, but I had a great tattooist, whcih in my opinion makes a huge difference!

sorry, never heard of it myself. im the biggest chicken you will ever meet.i pass out going to the dentist! i made my wife go first and sat and watched her get hers before i would get mine! to me, it was calming,i was tired (couldnt sleep the night before) and the buzzing and the vibration from the machine just about put me to sleep. the needles only go into your first few layers of skin and there moving so fast its not like getting a shot. for a few days afterwards it was like having a sun burn to me.youll do great! ill bet in about a week after you get your first one you will be thinking of what and were is the next one!! good luck!:thumbsup2

I work in an Allergy office and we use EMLA for the kiddos. Just make sure to glob it on about 90 minutes or longer before you go. The longer it is on the better the effect. Also you should cover it with some saran wrap or something similar so that it does not rub off or absorb into a bandaid. Good Luck!!!!! :goodvibes

That's kind of how I designed mine. I didn't want the Mickey to be obvious. Still a lot of people look at it and don't know it's there until I point it out.

Having my 'turning 40 soon mid-life crisis', so went to the tattoo shop where my oldest son is an apprentice, and finally got the nerve up to get my Eeyore angel (Eeyore for me, angel for my Mom :angel: ), on the inside of my right leg just above my ankle. The Mickey tattoo is actually a design that was on a WDW sweatshirt many years ago....I took a picture of the sweatshirt and then cropped it to the size I needed.

Yes...I agree he did a great job on Dory. I took the Sandylion sticker to him and he told me it would be no problem....it took 2.5 hours and I am really pleased with the result...of course I wish now that it wasn't on my back so that I could see it all the time.

Thanks. My dd's name is Isabella, but she's always been Bella, or sometimes Belle. Obviously, my son is Sebastian. Yep, I know the band, but they weren't named after the band or the Disney characters. They were names that we liked and names that had a history in our family. I got the tattoo with the Disney characters as just a sweet representation!

Hi all, Ill try dig up some pics when I get home but I do have 5...one of whi is disney. I have butterflies on my left foot, a maple leaf on my right hip (front), The Detroit Tigers old engligh D on my left hip (back), a heart with a music note through it between my shoulder blades...and finally...a mickey head on my right ankle (solid black, just the ears and head outline) :thumbsup2


OH...FYI for those who are wondering...yet I am that big of a Tiger fan and yes the butterflies on my foot hurt like a *****! :lmao:

And it gets worse - it's not even MY temporary tattoo. I wanted to share a funny story about my DD who was 2 at the time - it's a bit long, so please bear with me. Last Christmas, we got the kids a trip to WDW instead of all the toys. However, we couldn't go on X-mas, but I realized we were leaving 25 days after X-mas. So to give the trip to them ON X-mas, we gave them an advent calendar with a 'little something' in each day's door. We found 75 Tinkerbell tattoos on clearance at the online Disney store, so we put a few of them in some of the advent days.

Anyway, we asked DD2 where she wanted hers, and she chose her belly. She chose her belly every single time (and she wanted it upside down so that when she looked down at it, it would be right-side-up to her).

Every time she was sporting a Tink tat on her belly, she would lift her shirt to show people her "Tinkerbelly!" Am I the only person who thinks that's funny?

Here is my DD's first. The HM in the star is a start to the theme. She will have Disney characters added to this, peeking around a star or a letter etc...it leaves a lot of possibilities open for a lot of additions.

I LOVE all the tattoos (Disney and not) that I am seeing! Awesome designs guys! I've been thinking of a tattoo for a while, and now you have me thinking about my second before I get my first lol.

My first tattoo, I want to get an elephant with "Grandfather" in chinese underneath it, in memory of my grandfather. I've always associated elephants with my grandpa because the last thing he gave me was a small stuffed elephant that I still have. I'm thinking of also having a tribal design around it with cherry blossoms weaving in and out of it, but I'm not really sure how it'd look....

I have 5 tattoos now: 1 on each shoulder blade, 1 on my foot, and 2 on my chest area(which hurt the most out of all of them to me...)

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on the inside of each wrist and just want to know how the pain compares to other parts of the body....

Can't answer your question because I still haven't gotten the guts up to get my first, lol, so I have a pain question for you. :) How bad was the shoulder blade and foot one? I'm considering my foot or ankle mainly and would imagine the shoulder blade to be similiar to the ankle (if that makes sense). TIA

the shoulder ones weren't bad at all...a little uncomfortable and weird feeling but not bad at all.
the foot...a lot of people say this hurts the worst...it did hurt, but it wasn't unbearable for me and I have a pretty low tolerance of pain...

good luck gettting the guts to do it...that's the hardest part!

Well, I only have one on my foot which I thought was pretty bad. LoL So, while I can't personally compare the two, I will tell you what my girlfriend told me. She's got them all down the center of her back, her foot, and her wrist. She said the foot was the worst of all of hers, and then the wrist was still slightly uncomfortable, but not as bad as the foot. Hopefully, that can put it into perspective for you.

Great Tattoos everyone! I especially love Snow White! Quick question though, do any of you have problems with allergic reaction? I have one tattoo (small- thank goodness!!!) on the top of my foot. It healed great but I am allergic to it!:confused3 My body continually tries to reject it, it gets bad about once a month for a week or so...this for YEARS! Urgh! Any tips? My family thinks I should just get it removed and be done with it! :sad1:

I have one that goes around my wrist (like a bracelet) and it was probably the one that hurt the least (didn't really hurt, more of an annoyance). It also only bled in one small space on the bone. Just be careful how they place the outline. My wrist was turned akwardly when they did mine so I have to decide if I want it removed and re-done (or covered up) because the design got skewed.

I am also looking at one my friend drew that is one big rose and two smaller ones in the shape of a Hidden Mickey.

I dropped off both drawings to the artist on my way home. He is going to play around with them and show me what he comes up with tomorrow. He also suggested a swirly mickey in the rose vines.

I might just go with the smaller one with the 3 roses on my ankle and then maybe get the bigger one somewhere else. I am also looking at having the Mickey in the middle of the rose you suggested, made out of swirls.

I am going to have it done at noon tomorrow. I will have to wait until Monday to post a picture as the only camera I have is at work.

No I found it online and tweaked it...kinda like the one I did for myself. I took it apart and repositioned around what is my current tattoo. Not sure if this will work but here's my tattoo.
Mon and Pop loved disney and after they both passed I decided to draw an image of Minnie and Mickey holding hands on the beach watching a sunset. The woman who does my work is great (in my opinion) and she had no problem doing this for me. The amazing thing is that last year my wife and I were at the Art of Disney in Epcot and a painter (David Doss) was there who does disney themed prints and there was one limited edition print that had Mickey and Minnie sitting on the beach at the polynesian (my parents favorite resort) holding hands and looking across the lake at the magic kingdom. We took it as a sign they were doing great and just had to buy it! Kind of cut into the budget but now I look at it everyday and it makes me smile.
I hope I posted this the right way since I have not posted a pic on these forums before.
