Sticker Shock!

What is the historical pricing for flights from BUF or YYZ over X-mas? We are free to travel on 25 or 26th and returning on the 31st, but WOW... :sad2:

When does SWA release there flights usually? Are there ever any DINGs for x-mas? :confused3

Family of 4 - Most are US$2K+, and I have found US in around $1,660 and AT around $1,110.

Thoughts? :listen:

It is such a busy time and usually all of the flights are sold out. I usually book in January for the following Christmas - the prices are so crazy. Good luck with getting a better price - I wish I could help!

Thanks

Southwest should be releasing pricing in about a month.

I am also on the watch.

I will post if I see it open up!

Anyone have any ideas on where specials (if any) are priced from the airlines, and from SWA?

I did a search, and it looks like there was a DING last Aug. 31st for all of December into January. It was $40 for BUF --> MCO, does anyone know if this included the dates around X-Mas.

I don't think there are any deals at Christmas, that is why I go in January, after New Years.
Its about half the price.

DH flew MCO-BUF Dec 31 and that date never dinged. In fact, when the dates for Christmas 2005 were released mid-Aug 2005, the first few categories were showing not available so he had to pay a mid-range price.

My mom flew BUF-TPA Dec 28 and this date never dinged also. Since I didnt book this flight until October, I had to pay for one of the most expensive fare categories.

LAst year I bought my tickets in February for Christmas with Delta, I flew out of Bangor return fo 191.00 US. That is darn good for the East and to fly out of Canada it would be 700.00 minimum.

Thank goodness, that Bangor is just 3 hours away from Fredericton, NB! :Pinkbounc

You can go on Air Tran from the 25th Dec until 31st Dec for $310
= US$1240 (for 4 incl taxes)
or
If you can go on the 23rd to 31st you can get it for
= US$1144 for 4 ($286 each)

I think we lucked out when comparing the airfares for the last 3 days, and we got to stick to Star Alliance!

United: BUF -> ORD -> MCO
US Air: MCO -> CLT -> BUF
Prime time Departure Dec. 23rd, and 7am return Dec. 31st (Back in time for NYE)
4 Persons
CAD$1,300 TOTAL (Est. USD$1,144)

Sure, a far cry from our Spirit Air flight of USD$480 for the 4 of us return at Haloween, but we are happy considering.

Cheers,
